My job had a work conference in Delaware at the Clarion Belle so I decided to have dinner here. The restaurant is downstairs, next to the lobby so its very convenient. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries, and a side salad with Italian dressing. The chicken was tender and delicious. A bit on the thick side, so I had to cut it to break it down, but I am not complaining! The potato fries were amazing! They were seasoned well with salt, pepper and maybe Italian spices. My co-worker ordered the Pretzel bites with Queso cheese dip. Everything was delish. The service was excellent! Our waitress was very friendly, had a great sense of humor, cracked jokes and provided great hospitality. She really made us feel at home. Excellent service. We sat next to the bar area and watched TV on the big screens while we dined. Casual style restaurant. The next morning, I had the breakfast at the complimentary breakfast bar for those staying at the Clarion Belle. I had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bacon, home fried potatoes, waffles, and hot coffee. Yumm! The breakfast was impressive. There were so many other options that I did not try. I was happy to stay at the Clarion Belle.

Stayed at the hotel for the end of the weekend. Tuesday AM I decided to use a «free breakfast» coupon I was given. Once I saw the spread I could see it was pretty much a typical hotel Continental breakfast. Eggs, ham, breads/bagels, etc., Over all the food was good. They did have 2% milk too, which was a plus. For FREE breakfast I’d give the meal a good 4 stars. Unfortunately the experience was washed more by the«service» than the food. I’m an adult. Not the smartest one out there, but I can navigate a breakfast buffet as well, if not better, than most. Judging by the demeanor of the lady working the buffet, this has been a difficult filled morning. There was what I gathered to be a womens Lacrosse team filing out of the dining area as I came in. When I went to the«buffet» there was one straggler from the team plating up. Nurse ratchet, as I deemed her, told the lady she can’t take food out. The lady replied«Oh, ok… Ill just wrap it up and take it with me». I can see how this employees day had been so far. I plated up and put some toast in the toaster. I stood and watched, as I hate burnt toast. I touched the top of the toast to make sure it wasn’t well done, and Nurse Ratchet yells from the hostess stand that the blue light will go off when it’s done. I assumed it would pop up too. It did. My toast was a little burnt. I went to find a table among the disaster area left by the lacrosse ladies. As I walked by the hostess stand she was on the phone with some one explaining how, and I quote, «ridiculous» this situation is. I felt for her. I really did. But her frustration, and it showing, was a little too much for me. I of course left a $ 5 tip for clearing my plate. I doubt others had. Maybe I see why the one lady wanted to leave with her food.
