We came here for late breakfast on a Saturday morning. Did not realize until we had parked on the street that there is actually parking in front. There is also very limited outdoor seating which looks cute –weather permitting. Attractive café tucked into a quaint coastal neighborhood on the outskirts of Portsmouth. It should be noted that it’s not ACTUALLY right next to Strawberry Banke(as a few other reviewers had suggested). That’s just confusing to outsiders. It should also be noted that you order at the counter. This was not readily apparent when we walked in. The staff was friendly and let us take our time figuring out our order. Breakfasts choices were limited to a few specials. We got the last quiche and a couple breakfast burritos. I wish I had photographed the quiche before we polished it off because while it was quite delicious, it was also Lilliputian. The quiche probably measured 3 inches square. Small. It’s really a breakfast appetizer(unless you’re European). The burritos were really good. The sausage was nice and the spinach and cheese good but the egg was a little lackluster if you’re looking for something more but I personally really enjoyed mine. We had one brewed coffee which was good and one Amerjcano which was above average. Overall a great place if you’re in the area. We will go back next time for lunch.

This place is fantastic. Go and give them some money. They deserve it! Tasty sandwiches, soups. Service very friendly. Good coffee. All kinds of sweets I didn’t try, but other customers seem to enjoy.

Great warm atmosphere, sticky buns, and smoothies. I was so happy to find this little place for breakfast in cute downtown New Castle. The sticky bun was warm and tasted just like my mom makes. Cooler full of wine and craft beer. Friendly staff and calming music bring it all together for a great experience. Charming British owner. They take credit cards, which is unique for coastal businesses.

Fantastic place to eat a quick lunch. Fresh and delicious. Small space though so probably best for takeout unless you arrive late and you have the best experience possible as we did. The portions are not for sharing. Stop here to take your lunch before you head out to Newcastle beach. Love this place.

My mother and I had a delightful day pottering in and around Portsmouth. When we were ready for lunch we happened upon Henry’s Market and thought what the heck, let’s give it a whirl. It sits beside an ancient but well kept little cemetery and is just around the corner from Strawberry Banke in Portsmouth. Well, we were delighted with our little find and will definitely be back. I had the Kitchen Sink salad which had a terrific combination of several different items. The only item I didn’t care for was the eggplant relish, as I’m not a fan of eggplant to begin with this was no surprise. The roasted avocado as the centerpiece of the salad was a great touch. My mum had a Panini with curried chicken salad that was probably the best curried chicken salad I’ve every had. All in all, I would highly recommend this as a destination spot if you are visiting the Portsmouth area.

This afternoon my husband and I had an excellent lunch at Henrys! I had the Smoked Turkey sandwich, sans the onion. For a $ 1 extra they added on some avocado. Delicious! My husband ordered the Sage Egg salad sandwich which includes bacon and avocado. He said it too was excellent. Both of us agreed we had the best sandwich we’d had all summer long. We sat outside in the shade at one of the tables, where the food was brought directly to us by the owner. She said they try to use all local products in their foods … from the meat, cheese, greens, eggs, bread, etc. Judging by the amount of people coming and going, the business has been very well received in New Castle. We’ll definitely be returning soon! UPDATE: 4÷3÷14 Since my last visit Henry’s has had a transformation. New ownership and a new menu. I have yet to check it out. Hopefully one day soon!

I love Henry’s market. I’ve only sampled the coffee, delicious panini and local cheeses but I look forward to trying soups, salads and the wine selection. I love the homey gallery of kids art work in the corridor leading to the kitchen, saying«I love Henry’s». This is just the sort of market I wish was down the street from me.
