I would normally give this place 5 stars because I have eaten here before and had great meals, however that all goes out the window on Valentine’s Day. Never saw them mention a price fix menu on their website site and they never mentioned it when reservations were made. Wayyyy over priced tonight, food tasted great but had to send back 2 dishes as they were cold and we waited awhile for appatizers and meal to come out, in exchange we received a free glass of wine. They were just too busy tonight to get the same type of service we have received in the past. Never again on a holiday that’s for sure

I ordered takeout like I normally do from Luigi’s and I had an awful experience. The food is always delicious. My complaint today was regarding service. I ordered Penne Abbruzzi with a request to add Mozz cheese. When our order arrived my meal was in a red sauce. Normally this dish is made with just Garlic and Oil. So naturally I called to tell them of my mishap and the person on the phone proceeds to tell me that when she reviewed order with the person ordering that she said«in marinara» and the person says«ummmhmm». So I advised her that I do not want that sauce as that is not what I ordered. She proceeds to accuse the person taking the order of making the mistake(repeated this like 3 times) and asks if I need a re-delivery. I said yes and she told me 15 min. After getting off of the phone with Luigi’s my coworker that ordered says that when the person reviewed order with her she asked her«in marinara sauce» and my co worker says, not knowing the dish(as she is not their employee and shouldn’t be expected to),“whatever it comes in” so turns out this was not our error. Fast forward to when my order gets here the sauce is correct but they did not add requested cheese. A manager did not want to come to the phone. Then after all of this we paid for two ice teas and we never received them. So the delivery person got a $ 13 tip. Instead of the intended $ 9. We had to call again and ask them to send the ice teas or give us a refund and that was another process. We work at a busy hospital and these issues weren’t huge but we just don’t have the time for it as our break times are limited and scheduled. We decided to just not order anymore because lately there have been so many little things wrong. They seem too busy and unable to ensure quality service. Not worth the headache. I hate to say it.

Our first visit here was for the Unilocal elite event in 2015. We got to sample a few things and were very impressed with the food quality and setting of the restaurant. The bar is nice and long and the bartenders were very quick and friendly. We left another Unilocal elite event early so we could sneak over here for a quick dinner. We already had appetizers so we decided on just doing entrees and a bottle of red. Of course, they have my favorite Brunello here, La Fortuna white label — they even had the 2010! This is a great value on a 96+ point rated wine at this restaurant!!! We had the standard homemade ricotta filled raviolis with a nice hearty plum tomato sauce. These are 10⁄10 top of the world raviolis. So simple and just an absolute home run! The girl tried the eggplant parmigiana(I KNOW I KNOW) and it again was just out of this world. Not sliced too thin, the perfect thickness and freshly sauteed/baked. The tomato sauce here must be san marzano tomatoes, it is so delicious I can’t stop thinkin of it whenever I think about pasta… Our waiter was very gracious and accomodating. Originally they brought the wrong bottle of wine up and he apologized so profusely. I told him to stop apologizing :) This is the ONE place I wish was closer to where I live/work — definitely worth the 30 min ride.

My office in Great Neck orders lunch from Luigi’s almost every Friday. All the paninis are amazing(the chicken margherita in particular) because their focaccia bread is freshly baked on premises daily. The bowtie pasta salad is addictive, and their salad/cookie platters are a staple for our meetings and special occasions. Also, it doesn’t hurt that one of their delivery boys(the skinny dirty blonde one) is super cute; my female coworkers practically swoon over him.

First time here and all I can say is WOWZERS!!! First off the ambience is great, perfect lighting, comfy seating and the staff is amazing… but the food. oh the food. in a word INCREDIBLE. I am super picky with Italian food as my Grandmother cooked Italian food from scratch and had Sunday Sauce on the stove by 10am. Eat here, you will not be disappointed. Best baked clams I’ve ever eaten. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmigianino and I ordered the Pan Roasted Manilla Clams w/spaghetti, both were delish. They even had homemade donuts with nutella dipping sauce for dessert. Plus they have delicious Italian beer, bottled and brewed straight from Italy. Best Italian Restaurant in Queens!!! Enjoy

Frankly this is the best Italian good you’ll find in New York. My favorites are the cheese ravioli, lobster and shrimp risotto, shrimp tempura appetizer, and bombalini desert(fresh donut ball filled with cream and chocolate dip). Waiters are amazing. However, they get three stars for terrible management. I’ve eaten countless dinners here, rented the back room for an event, and come on pre-set menu days. *I rented the back room for a surprise birthday party about 50 guests. I will never do it again. They weren’t flexible with adding guests the day of, even though they were children with their parents. It was very pricey for the lack of choices they offer and drinks can only be served from the main bar rather than within the room. When I came to view the room, granted without appointment, Ana wasn’t very welcoming and seemed annoyed I had showed up. Not an experience I’ll have again, too frustrating! **Mothers Day 2015: we made reservations for 1pm knowing there was a preset menu. We were seated at a table made for a larger group. Even though the restaurant was empty. They moved us ONCEWESTARTED eating our appetizers to a smaller table. I thought it was incredibly rude especially since the restaurant was still empty. I understand they want to maximize the space for customers but it’s rude to move us once we’ve started eating. If the food wasn’t so incredible I wouldn’t have come back after these experiences.

My friend celebrated her Quarter Century birthday here on Sunday night(on my recommendation). I arrived at around 7:30pm, and the place was totally packed! Inside was so warm and inviting, and the aroma of food filled the room! Front of the house and main dining room was poppin! My friend had her party in a back room that was shared by 2 other parties. Party room was a decent size and more than enough space for all 3 parties to be comfortable. Birthday girl’s party was 18 people. On the table was their house bread and a pesto olive oil dip that was absolutely AMAZING! I promptly devoured the basket and asked for seconds and thirds! :D Apps and entrees were delicious as well! For apps, I ordered the lump crabmeat crab cake, served over creamed corn and for entrees, I had the Short Rib Fettuccine. According to their menu, all of their pasta is made fresh in house, so almost everyone in our party, ordered a pasta dish as an entrée. loll Some of my friends ordered their Chicken Parm, which a lot of the reviews on this page recommended. Food arrived about 15mins later. First the crab cake was pretty good. Well seasoned, plenty of crabmeat inside. Creamed corn was a little overpowering though. and very rich. Short Rib Fettuccine was delicious. Pasta cooked al dente! :D Overall, this birthday dinner was a success! Everyone left feeling full and very satisfied. Food was delicious and authentic. Service was attentive but not intrusive.

Love their food! My fiancé and I usually order take out rather than dine in. Calamari, Tuscan chicken pasta, chicken parm & bake clams are our usual Order; delicious! We’ve ordered from here when we have family over and they rave about the food. Highly recommended !

You always look for those nostalgic moments in life. Whether they be a favorite TV show, location, or restaurant; when you find them you want to be a repeat customer to them. The same can be said for Luigi’s. It’s no secret that I love Italian food. If I could get it straight from the source I would, but Luigi’s is the next best thing. Located in a nice quiet Long Island neighborhood, it’s truly a hidden gem in a sea of «Ray’s». They have two parts to their restaurant. The first is their main eat-in section that’s ideally suited for any date night. Low-light setting, exquisite décor, and great service. The second is their«express» take-out & delivery area(though it does have a few chairs and tables for a quick lunch bite). The«express» area has a great rustic vibe to it, utilizing vintage photos all around. Both have their own entrances. Luigi’s can get VERY busy during peak times(think Friday at lunch time for example). As such, the«express» section can feel like a game of Mad Dash on your iPhone. Pizza pies quickly sell out as soon as they’re made. They can get a ridiculous amount of delivery/take-out, and eat-in orders all at the same time from the surrounding neighborhood and businesses alone. Their staff is tremendous as well though, and can clear out a line just as fast as they can make new pizzas… all with that NY charm and smile. Luigi’s menu is very diverse and you can get anything ranging from wraps and subs all the way to salads and pies(Sicilian or regular cut). All of it customized to your heart’s desire if need be(just allot them the time needed to make it). Me personally, I love their Buffalo Chicken Pizza and their Spinach Ricotta Pizza. Their subs are huge and very filling… leaving you with that oh so satisfying food-coma feeling when you’re done; aka«the –itis). They also make a delicious homemade bread lightly brazen in olive oil that you can request to sample with your meal. All-in-all when I come into Luigi’s, I feel like I took a trip back in time. Where you got great service, great food, great environment, and no gimmicks. Brooklyn used to be flooded with places like this. Heck, all of NYC used to be. Now? Now, it’s a «hidden gem» sadly. Hopefully places like this never become extinct in the name of progress.

I had to go back after having been there for an elite to event and let me tell you it was even better the second time around if that’s even possible. Brought my parents this time and they were overjoyed. They always complain about not having a really good Italian restaurant to go to but I’d say this is it now. EVERYTHING was great and the waiter was perfection. He allowed us to make an appetizer that wasn’t on the menu so we could try the house sauce and meatballs. Love love love. Please go it is well worth it.

We came on a Sunday at 3pm and the place was packed. After being told to wait a few minutes for them to set up our table thr hostess said she made a mistake and they are full booked. She sent us to their take out around the corner. I’m glad she did. The guy who worked in their pizza shop was awesome. He understood that our 20 month old baby wouldn’t wait 30 minutes for our meal that he rushed our order. He was exceptionally kind. Our food came out fast. The food was good. I got the pappadelli with bolognese that was good. My husband got the chicken Emiglia that he thought was delicious. Their meatball subs were just ok. Their fried zucchini could have been better. Price wise it was ok. Everything for $ 35. I’m also glad we ended up in the take out/pizza place because that was super casual and not noisy and crowded. And if my baby wanted to scream I wasn’t embarrassed because it was just us there for a while.

Heard about Luigi’s through my coworkers who often order from here as well as dine in. Their food is good, a bit pricey, but still decent. My fiancé loves their buffalo chicken pizza. Their salads are quite tasty too. This restaurant is a must try!

Close to the pumpkin farm so we decided to give it a try. Was surprised at how good the food and service was, we booked for our daughters’ birthday celebration a week later. The dining area is semi-private, tastefully decorated with a warm ambiance. Spacious yet intimate, perfect for a large family affair. The bar area is also lots of fun on a crowded evening. Appetizers are amazing, the calamari is probably the best we’ve tried anywhere. The mussels in white sauce is not too far behind. The Farmers and Caesars salad were delicious. Chicken Emiglia combines crispy tender chicken with creamy sauce and the Veal Campagnola melts in your mouth. The Lump Crab Cake was very tasty and had a nice crunchy exterior. Tiramisu and Napoleon are the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. The experience was made even more memorable by our fabulous Banquet/Server team led by Erica, Marco, Megan and Patricia. Our family had a wonderful time and we hope to visit again soon!

I really love this restaurant, it gives you all those warm fuzzies that great Italian restaurants are known for. It’s all about that low light, brick, black and white photographs on the wall, cozy, Sinatra-might-be-in-the-other-room type of feel. I stopped in with a friend after attending an amazing Unilocal event here, I just had to come back for the full experience. We sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of red, which, Kevin, the bartender decided to put on ice for a few minutes because it wasn’t at the perfect temperature. They really care about quality here, and it shows. We split a Margarita Pizza and I ordered a Cesar Salad. I’m not kidding, that salad was amazing, I ate that dish so fast I got a bit winded. Perfectly dressed, crisp, chopped romaine. I couldn’t get enough. The pizza arrived shortly after and it was wonderful. I’m all about sauce and it was the perfect amount for me. Nice, crisp crust, fresh basil, and big dollops of fresh mozzarella. YAASSSS! I just have to take a second and tell you about the pesto and bread they give you pre-meal. The bread is so soft and fluffy on the inside, and crisp on the outside, it tastes like they made it an hour ago. The pesto is just out of this world, it’s so basil-y and fresh, it’s hard not to fill up entirely just on the bread and pesto alone. This place is all about comfort, a place you stop in again and again, for any occasion. It’s not just about the food and drink here, it’s an entire experience.

Let me just say. I have had THEBEST drinks ever at this restaurant! Hands down. I ordered a green apple martini and my date ordered Long Island iced tea. Absolutely delicious! The desserts were better than the actual meal. The chicken parm was great but the steal tag. I forgot the name but it’s on the entrée section. Was ok. It came with parm fries and a sauce which was alright. The shrimp tempura as an appetizer is also a great choice. I’ll be coming back!

I came here a few days after the Unilocal event because I couldn’t stop thinking about the food. The place wasn’t too crowded but it was pretty late for dinner. They started us off with some fresh bread and delicious pesto dipping sauce. I had a couple of pieces of bread because the pesto sauce was so good. We got the shrimp tempura as our appetizer and the shrimp were pretty large and very tasty. My main reason for coming here was the truffle, cheese, edamame ravioli that I had at the event and was very disappointed when I didn’t see it on the menu. I asked our friendly waitress about it and she told me it wasn’t on the menu but they had it! The ravioli was just as good as I remembered and my dinner companion raved about how good my dish was. I also got to try the shrimp and lobster pasta which was good and had great flavor. This was such a great meal even my glass of shiraz was delicious.

After attending an Elite event here recently I suggest to my friend that we stop in for a drink. She knew the place and had not been for a while. She seemed impressed and notices the new edition of the dining room on the other side of the bar. We grab a couple of seats at the bar and the bartender comes over to serve us immediately. We ask about the beers and are handed a list. We notice that there are no draft beers — a little disappointing until we see the selection of rarely found Italian bottle beers. My friend, who likes to live an adventurous and baller lifestyle, orders the Verdi Imperial Stout, which is probably one of the most expensive beers on the menu and it is made with chili pepper which is a bonus! I go for the more modest in price but not in stature, Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. I have to say I love Stouts after being preached the virtues of them by my friend Katie H and having my opinion backed up by Grace Y who is willing to exchange her Elite status for a TBD number of stouts. They make for an awesome after dinner beer, lush, chocolately, complex and smooth. So delicious. I am especially impressed by my friend’s high end taste. Luigi’s is a warm and inviting space which was perfect for a leisurely beer. We never felt rushed although we milked those beers — the bartender was attentive, but inviting us to stay as long as we wished. We felt most welcomed and comfortable here. This follow up great experience confirmed what many saw and felt at the event. Luigi’s is a classic that knows how to make you feel like family even though you may be coming in for the first time. I look forward to coming back for a full meal soon!

I really like Luigis, and have been dining there for years. It is a great place to go with family, and they have a nice large back room for when you have a large party. The front room is nice, however, it can get very crowded when the restaurant is full. Although, seeing a full restaurant is a good sign that they have good food. I have tried many dishes there, including the chicken parm, calamari, meatballs, ravioli w/meat sauce, lasagna, pizza and many other favorites. I have to say, everything I have had was very good. The food is high quality, the service is good, and the food isn’t overpriced. I have to point out the foccacia bread and pesto dipping sauce they give you when you sit down. First of all, the foccacia bread is great, but that pesto dipping sauce is one of the best things I have ever eaten. It is insane, and I usually suck down 2 bowls of it when I’m there. Overall, Luigis is a great italian mainstay, with solid food, good service in a nice space. I would highly recommend!

I take out most of the time here and dined in once. I am always satisfied with their food. For take out, the pizza pies are very good. They use their own tomato sauce for the pizza which is flavorful. Also their sandwiches tastes amazing and fresh. It is filling for lunch to carry you throughout your day. The restaurant itself is great. I made a reservation for a Sunday afternoon since the restaurant is always packed every time I walk by it. The staff was very attentive especially since the group I brought was fairly large. They accommodated my group and the waitress was very attentive to all of us. The portions are large enough to keep you full though the appetizers are fairly large and we had to take the rest home. I’m never disappointed with their food whether it’s dining in or taking away. Even for taking away, their food tastes fresh and home made.
