I have been going there since they opened. Really good at first but has been gradually slipping. This morning I reluctantly went back with my daughter to give it one more chance. Ordered a Denver omelet. It was very undercooked and I had raw eggs running out of the inside. I will not return

Homemade everything!!! Everything on the menu is incredible, I had no clue a restaurant like this existed. These ladies know exactly how food should taste, Bravo !!!

I will give Teardrop 2 stars because our server was a very nice person and the service was quick. However, the food was not good. My omelet was literally tasteless, more oily tasting than food tasting. The hash browns were totally unseasoned. I tried my husband’s biscuits and gravy… they actually had a sort of chemical flavor…:-(. We used to like it here but it seems to have gone downhill.

How in God’s name is this dump still open?! Shame on us for giving it 3 tries, shame on us! Ordered a veggie omelette and it was literally 90 percent spinach and the rest was grease. It’s like they forgot the eggs! Turkey sausage tasted like funk and the toast wasn’t toasted enough. They did manage to get the packaged jelly to taste good, miracle! And to top it all off Gina’s attitude sucks just like it did at Mattina café. Your pay is based on customer service and tips, figure it out! Or don’t! We wont be back in any case. .EVER!

Horrible food! We went there a few times, and they cook in so much butter or oil that the after taste coats your mouth! The omelette had no eggs, just runny vegetables. The turkey sausage had a weird flavor, the only decent thing was the toast, that I had to slather in jelly. Not good

Unfortunately won’t be coming back here again. Each time we’ve gone, we’ve gotten shells in our eggs — scrambled and poached. My French fries were also undercooked. Not a good experience overall.

Had a great turkey and avocado panini. Thick turkey and lots of bacon. Husband had a rueben and enjoyed it. Each sandwich came with fries and soup, lots of food. Good lunch.

I often go to Teardrop café for lunch. This is a great«breakfast all day» type of restaurant. Amazing crepes, really. The soup is almost always excellent and you get a huge bowl of it. Omelets are excellent and the choice of pancakes instead of toast with egg dishes is welcome. There really is nothing much on that stretch of Laraway Road, so this was a welcome addition. Friendly staff and a really cute atmosphere.

I can’t say enough good about this place! I’ve been here three days in row because it’s so good! The coffee is spot on delicious, the biscuits and gravy is perfect, and the cream of asparagus soup… OMG! All the workers are super friendly and make it feel like home. Keep up the good work! I’ll be back tomorrow! ;)

Ordered the breakfast special with biscuits and gravy, eggs, hash browns, and sausage. The biscuits and gravy were sadly nothing to write home about, but other diners in my party enjoyed the pancakes. Would like to come back and try the crunchy French toast, and the skillets sounded tasty. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Prices are on par for the area.

I really wanted to like this place. I drove twenty minutes to 826 W Laraway, only to find myself in front of a large dirt hill. I drove home in disgust. Through later intensive research, I found out the true address, which is 826 E Laraway. Now I have egg on my face, and none in my stomach.

My dad and I went to lunch here. My soup was cream of mushroom and it was very tasty. I ordered a rueben sandwich, it came with what I thought was thousands island dressing on the side. I put the dressing on and ate a few bites and my mouth was on fire! I thought it was strange because a rueben is not spicy. When our waitress came by I asked her what was the dressing? She said oh no you got the Chipotle sauce instead. Really not too funny. One would think the two different sauces both orange would be widely separated from each other when being stored. My lunch was ruined. She offered to get me another sandwich, but my appetite was gone. Service was fine other than the mix up.

Stopped there with my wife on a Sunday at noon. Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and a taco salad After 20 minutes was told it would be right up. By now at least 3 – 4 families had sit down. 20 minutes later still nothing. By now our waitress was avoiding us. All the newer arrivals were eating. Got up and left. Won’t be back.

A friend and I came here for a quick lunch but unfortunately it turned into an hour of waiting. I am not sure why as the place is relatively small and they were not busy. Service was awful. Our waitress took 15 minutes to return to our table to take our orders after initially greeting us. She brought soup… no crackers or bread and it took a total of 10 more minutes to receive those items after asking. We saw several individuals who had come in after us receive their food, but our waitress never stopped by to say anything to us concerning how we were or where our meals were. After almost an hour we asked to receive our food in to-go containers(from the hostess, because our waitress was not around, again) as lunch was over for us. Upon actually tasting my meal, it was terrible(soggy chicken Caesar wrap and cold fries) my friend also stated his simple breakfast was poorly put together. I will not be returning. Horrible service and lackluster food.

Excellent food. Tasteful ambiance. Family friendly and inexpensive. Owners have 20 years experience in the business and it is evident. Will definitely come back again and again.

Sigh… Cooks still don’t know what MEDIUMRARE means. STAYAWAYFROMTHEPORKCHOPS, unless you like them flat, tough and chewy. I traded them in for a chicken on pita. Good soups. I had the tomato Rosa marina, and my husband had the cream of vegetable. ******************************** Ugh. The noise level in here is ridiculous, & it can be fixed, by simply putting felt tips on the bottom of the chairs! GEEEEEEEEEEEZ! ! Our server took 7 minutes to approach our table. She brought the soup, but no crackers. when we were completely done with our soup, we had to ask a hostess to find her, as she had disappeared. Server claims they ran out of rolls, and they just got some in… she cocked an attitude as well. Don’t get the fried chicken, either. Bland, dry & overcooked.

4th visit here. I ordered a Denver omlett to go. Greatest omlett ever. They give you alot of food too. One more thing. The map on Unilocal is incorrect. Someone needs to fox the map so ornery people can find this place. Highly recommended for breakfast.

Breakfast with the parents and the in-laws for the holidays! And we picked the right place! I had the Country fried steak breakfast and I rate place on their sausage gravy! This place has some GOOD gravy! The steak was well seasoned and the gravy was tasty! The eggs were a perfect over easy and my hasbrowns were that nice in between crisp yet soft potatoy! The boy ordered the Steak and eggs. He said that this was probably the best breakfast steak he’s had in a while!(wow!) He devour the whole plate! Mom had the Breakfast sammich on rye. They gave her over easy eggs instead of over hard, but no worries. The rest of the sammich was tasty. The Dad-in-law had the Irish skillet. He had never had hollandaise sauce before and now he loves it! The Mom-in-law had the Denver omlet and she enjoy every tasty, eggy bite of it! The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and I’ll be sure we get back here soon!

We went here for lunch and couldn’t believe how amazing the food was. It’s nice to see a restaurant with quality food and service open in my hometown. My wife and I both started with the Chicken and Rice soup with was out of this world. They post their fresh soup of the day on their facebook page and boy was it fresh. Each sandwich comes with soup and fries so you never leave hungry. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo and I ordered the Greek Chicken Pita. Both sandwiches and seasoned fries were out of this world. I can’t wait to go back and try the breakfast. New Lenox needed a café of this caliber.

No this is not a 5 star restaurant but it is an eatery that delivers everything one would desire for a neighborhood café — excellent, friendly service, nice atmopsphere, huge portions of food at great prices, and a varied and interesting menu executed perfectly. In the 10 days that I was visiting family, we ate there three times. On our first visit, it was three egg vegetable omelet, bacon, fruit and a turkey reuben. Second time, was a breakfast burrito with onions, sausage, cheese and peppers and eggs benedict. Lastly we sampled the belgian waffle and roast turkey panini with avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, spinach and chipoltle mayo. The sides like the hash browns and fries were excellent. Hot, not greasy, and nicely crisped. The russian dressing on the reuben and the spicy mayo on the panini, were especially good. It was nice that both came in separate containers so that you could control how much of the spread went on. It just makes such a difference when you use fresh ingredients, and have a chef that cares about what he/she is serving even if it is your more basic comfort food items. We had Emily as our server on our first and third visits. Even though the place was full she never rushed us as there was a lot of catching up to do with my dining companion. She was patient, friendly, accommodating and helped seal the deal push my rating to a five star experience. Thanks Emily!
