Was looking for a quick bite and I am always looking for a taste of home. I had the curry goat and my husband had the oxtail. Both were very good. The goat could have been a bit spicier and the rice was bland, but we would go back.

Stopped into Flava of Jamaica yesterday. We heard about it from a cashier at a store who also happened to work at the restaurant. We drove to New London and parked in the big lot behind Bank Street. No problems finding parking there. Just a quick walk and we were there. No trouble finding the place! It’s the bright yellow building adjacent to Mambo(another great restaurant). We walked in and were immediately greeted with a smile. We were sat right away and asked for outdoor seating. Great view of the Thames river. The trains were a little loud, but not enough to detract from the spectacular meal. The waitress was very helpful. We were looking for authentic Jamaican food and she helped explain what the different dishes were like. I settled on the Jerk Pork, my wife had the Curry Goat and my daughter had the fish and chips. They were all amazing! My wife and I ate half and swapped so we could try both. All in all, we were very pleased. If you are looking for fancy fine dining, this is probably not the place for you. But if you are looking for a delicious traditional Jamaican meal, served by a friendly wait staff in the heart of New London, the you should definitely give them a try.

The Chicken soup with dumplings was delicious. Beef pattie was excellent. The Best Jerk Pork your gonna find in SECT, served with cabbage salad, fried banana, rice and peas. All that was $ 15. Flava is just like a restaurant you’d find in MoBay, just missing the warm Jamaican sun. Heard they turn into a club at night.
