A nice little gem of a small-town ‘diner’ in downtown New Milford. Stopped in for a little brunch with my daughter after her last exam before the holiday break. She got eggs and corned beef hash. Excellent… especially the hash. Clearly homemade and very tasty. I had a cheeseburger cooked perfectly(med-rare) and a bowl of homemade spinach & tortellini soup… Delicious! The only points off relate to the hot cocoa my girl had. A mix, as expected, but very watery. We had to add four of the little creamers to make it drinkable. Service was friendly and wonderful. Bill came to $ 23 before tip.

Never got to try their food because of the lousy customer service. We called 90 minutes ahead of time with a request for a table for 7. THAT would have been the time to let us know you don’t take reservations, instead of chirping«Ok, thanks for letting us know!» We arrived to one of the rudest employees ever, sarcastically informing us that they don’t take reservations, but we could wait if we wanted to, «but it was gonna be awhile.» This so-called manager was dripping with attitude. We took our business elsewhere, where they were happy to receive us, greeting us with a smile and although they were also busy, accommodated our party by placing us at tables next to each other.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Had the combo breakfast, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes or French toast, 2 bacons or sausage or ham. Good food, great coffee, cute little diner in town. Had to pay extra for real maple syrup, but better than maple flavor, bleh! Service was quick and pleasant. Good experience overall.

Great food and coffee. I try to go here every weekend for breakfast. Grilled chick wrap is great for lunch and they have great french fries.

This has been my family’s go-to breakfast joint for years. The food is amazing, the staff is great(and if you’re a regular will always remember what you order), the portions are generous(seriously, has anyone ever seen a «small» salad that large??) and you just cannot beat the prices.

Really like Theo’s for breakfast. I am a corned beef hash aficionado and Theo’s is the only diner in town that makes it from scratch. The atmosphere is very nice and the place is always immaculate. Definitely recommended!

Menu is varied and the breakfast items we had were top notch. I’m not sure the age of the business, but the environment is newish colonial. Service is very attentive. They aim to please. Everything is sparkling clean, including the restrooms.

I guess I spoke too soon – terrible customer service by one of the waitstaff. We arrived 15 full minutes before their posted closing time for lunch and were rudely turned away, despite the large sign outside that said ‘OPEN.’ Business must be great at Theo’s – they can afford to turn away customers, even when they are supposed to be open.

I really wanted to give this place a better review. I did. Please note this review is not relevant to the cooks, taste of the food or the owners(probably) aside from pricing… Because my first experience there was amazing! Eat in breakfast was fantastic, big portions, and VERY good. But then again, my mother paid for us that day… lol… Fast forward to us now living in the area within walking distance and we were SO excited to go for our brisk, Autumn Sunday morning walk before football to get coffee and breakfast take out…(after reading reviews about their coffee we didn’t get it there so no review on that…)… and we are NOT happy. SO firstly… when I called to place take out. the person taking the order was extremely rude. Maybe not so much rude as condescending … talking to me as if i was a child and asking ridiculous questions. Oh, I’m sorry I happen to be particular about the best meal of the day(Some places make egg sandwiches with hard roll vs. toast… toasted or not… scrambled vs. fried… 1egg vs. 2… etc). So I finally place an order for two bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches on a hard roll, TWO eggs just in case the sandwich was not that filling. So let me just say quickly that when we pick it up, we definitely got stereotyped right off the bat. We are a young, 30-year old married couple with two little girls under two yrs old… ready for a football Sunday. My husband is still his sexy self in a football jersey, backwards hat, covered in tattoos, etc… but extremely charismatic and friendly so he always surprises people. I myself may appear that I am 18yrs old(or consistently getting mistaken for as the«nanny»), but I am merely a 30year old mother who takes care of my appearance, likes to wear my hair long in tight stretch pants with my jersey(GOGMEN!) and some nice kicks. ;)(Meanwhile, our daughters are beyond adorable in little cheerleading outfits for our teams) ;) …My husband walks out and says«I just paid $ 14 for two egg sandwiches. And when I asked for a receipt they gave me this. and even scoffed at the idea I actually cared to get areceipt.» and it was just a small, yellow copy from a waitress notebook, not itemized. Just the price, $ 13.83 circled. So we inquired as to what cost what… and not only did we get looked at as if we had three heads but we were also told that we can’t compare prices to any other business because«they’re only open 5hrs a day.» so I guess that means they can charge double for the same thing down the road.(Bear in mind, at Three Brothers in New Milford, you get TWO egg sandwiches for $ 3. So basically we could have gotten EIGHTSANDWICHES for the price we just paid for TWO!). Basically it broke down to this: 1 egg on TOAST = $ 2.75! (Hard roll, +$ 0.50) (Cheese, +$ 0.75) (Bacon/Ham/Sausage, +$ 1.25) (Extra egg, +$ 1.50) SO basically… Bacon and egg on TOAST = $ 4.00 Bacon and egg on HARDROLL = $ 4.50 Bacon, egg and cheese on toast = $ 5.25 Bacon, egg and cheese on HARDROLL = $ 5.75 Bacon, DOUBLE egg, and cheese on toast = $ 6.75 Bacon, DOUBLE egg and cheese on HARDROLL = $ 7.25 $ 7.25 for a BREAKFASTSANDWICH. Which, tasted very good. But I’m sorry, I could have gotten the entire family platter breakfasts with eggs, home fries and toast down the road for $ 7. But to be honest. pricing is their prerogative. Whatever. It was the fact that the woman thought we were INSANE For asking for itemized pricing since it was so expensive and even went as far to say«You said you’re new to the area and comparing restaurants for the future, WHERE Did you live BEFORE that this is SOOOOO unbelievable???» Another waiter even came up to us like«whoa whoa what’s going on here» as if we were harassing the staff when all we wanted was an itemized explanation for paying $ 14 for two sandwiches. Wow. Unfortunately I really do want to order from here again because it tastes amazing and all but… the the customer service was really offensive and I just don’t know that we’d do it again. Obviously you can tell, this made us SO angry it ruined our peaceful Sunday morning and my husband is now out going to get more breakfast because we cannot justify paying that much for breakfast and barely being satisfied by it. All I said was«I cannot WAIT to get on Unilocal and review this experience. Oh well…

Food was pretty good and came out fairly quickly. Location is super cute. Waitress was rude. All three of our forks were dirty on the table.

For a family restaurant, not friendly at all. I have been in many times, & sometimes the owner with blonde curly hair is a bit rude. I’ve alway just not payed that much attention to her. But the last time I was in she took the cream cups away from OUR table, so my 22 month old couldn’t play with them & drink them, as she likes to do when we are waiting for our food & seemed very annoyed by it. To top it off, whenever we needed something, she was hanging out at the bar talking to all the guys there. The long & short of it is I’m over Theo’s. It could be a really nice place. The food is good, it is clean, & the other waitresses are very nice. The rude women owner just ruins it for me. I will not be going back.

Theos is a wonderful restaurant with a very attentive staff. I love the owner she tells it like it is. Theo takes great pride in the prep and cooking of his food. It is and always has been the best. If you want to be coddled go elsewhere if you want great food in a clean friendly atmosphere go to Theos. And to the man who said there was a six inch hair in his plate. NOONE in Theos restaurant staff has a six inch hair on their head!!!

Food was fabulous, Waitress was horrible. I went here for a Sunday morning breakfast with a couple of friends just to catch up and chat. One of our friends was running a few minutes late when we were seated. The waitress took our drink orders while we waited for her to arrive. When we received our drinks, one of them was completely incorrect but we decided that it wasn’t that big of a deal. We were then spoken too rather rudely by the waitress in her late thirties with short blonde curly hair and glasses. She asked if our other party member was ever going to show up and that we needed to order promptly. This caught me off guard and we assured her that our friend was coming but we would place the order. Ironically, right after we placed our order our friend walked in(only eight minutes late) and sat with us. The waitress immediately asked what she wanted to drink before she could even get her purse off her shoulder. The waitress promptly returned with her drink and asked what she wanted. My friend told her she just sat down and has not looked over the menu yet and would need a moment to decide which appeared to annoy the waitress. After she ordered we were served our food and it was very good. The chefs do a great job and everything was cooked well. While in the middle of eating the waitress passed by and non challantly dropped our check on the table, not bothering to ask if we were enjoying the food, if we would want any more coffee or order something else, or if we even would want seperate checks. We ignored her action and continued our meal. Once we were finished we were waiting for her to come by our table to ask for some to go boxes. The waitress was busing a table near by and said to us that we are suppose to pay up front. We told her that we just needed some to go boxes. This seemed to annoy her. We received our boxes and then went to pay at the register. We talked to the older woman there and told her that our server was extremely rude and felt rushed. She asked who served us and we told her. Apparently, our waitress was the OWNER! To say the least, I was shocked. You are the owner of the restaurant and you treat your paying customers like they are an inconvenience to you. Us customers are paying your bills and you should treat us with a little more respect. Save yourself the trouble and attend one of the other breakfast nooks on the Green. If you are willing to endure the hassle, I would request one of the two older women to serve you. They are very charming.

Great place with that home town feel. Awesome breakfast and lunch. Last week had the Chili Cheese Omelet special — FANTASTIC!!! Only on Saturday’s though I think. Also, great chicken tenders and rueben sandwich. My only gripe is the lady that runs the place, with glasses — don’t know her name. Kind of rude and overbearing. Asked her for hot sauce and got a «snotty» remark, totally uncalled for. I try not to get her when I go there. She needs to stay in the back! But overall great food and staff(except you know who). Thanks, Steve in New Milford

Theo’s is excellent, especially for breakfast. Friday’s lunch is Theo’s delicious chili and so Saturday’s breakfast special(if any is left) is a huge and delicious chili omelet — sooo good! Home-fries are delicious as well — baby red potatoes, skin on, cooked to perfection with all the right amounts of everything… the prices are so reasonable too! Anyway, the only reason I didn’t give a 5-star review is because there’s one waitress who can be outright rude and condescending, as Dee B. stated in her review. But all the other waitresses are so pleasant and helpful! She’s the only thing that keeps me from going there more often — the food is just so good! We’ve had her probably 5 times as our waitress(we usually luck out and get one of the other waitresses lately though) and I’d say about 4 of those times she’s had moments of rudeness, 3 out of those — moments of being condescending, and 2 out of those she’s made me feel like I’d never step foot into that place again. So, see how good the food is? I keep going back despite that one waitress! haha

Cute little town. Stopped by hear on a drive up to northern Connecticut for a tour of the scenery. Just across from the train station this place is perfect for breakfast. I had the French toast with bacon and two eggs over easy. The French toast tasted really good. Not sure what they put in it or how they made it, but it tasted a bit different and in again in a very good way. My wife had the banana and walnut pancakes and they were really, really good. Loaded with bananas! The waitress was friendly and gave great service. The ambiance was okay, nothing special, but everyone in the restaurant was friendly. Customers at the counter, customers sitting next to us, and customers sitting behind us. A nice way to start the day.
