Great food! The wings were hot, juicy and fresh! At our table we had pork, brisket, ribs, chicken and sausage! All very good! Service was great and we enjoyed our experience. Thanks!

Pretty good, for a New Port Richey restaurant.

Not my taste, or maybe an off day, I’ve come here before and I’m typically a fan, I guess not anymore. The ribs and chicken were cooked nicely, very tender, but the flavor wasn’t there. The sauce is simple, similar to KC out of the bottle. The onion rings were def burnt. The green beans, most likely out of a can and taste like garlic powder. The toast, weak, like how does that get messed up. Baked beans tasted like ketchup. The potato salad was wonderful, but it and the coleslaw were both hot from being packaged with the meat. It draws an older crowd and has been in business for a while but not my first or second recommendation for bbq

Great food! The smell from the stop light just draws you in. It’s a little to dark in there for me more lighting would be nice. The fried green tomatoes were so good and the lunch special was awesome.

We had chopped beef and pork BBQ open face sandwiches. Sooooo full! VERYGOOD! It may have the best BBQ in Florida. Pretty slim pickings since we moved here for good BBQ. French fries were excellent too. Big, thick, and crispy. Baked beans were ok. Also had a little spicy sausage that I didn’t love. Really Excellent service. They had homemade key lime pie but we were toooo full! Next time we will try the NC style pork BBQ. And maybe get sliced beef BBQ instead of chopped.

Not one of my favorites. This is the second time I’ve been here and the food is average at best. Baby back ribs were OK but their BBQ sauce leaves much to be desired, tastes like mass market grocery store sauce. Pulled pork was also just OK. Their baked beans were not flavorful, the garlic toast was not very garlicky. The coleslaw was the best part of the meal. The only saving grace was the very friendly staff each time I came. Will not return.

Split a pork & beef sandwich with a friend. Meat was a little bit dry, so I sauced it up — a lot. Sauce was good though. I got the potato salad, which was good, but only because they don’t have mac& cheese — which kind of blew my mind at a BBQ place. Great value for lunch — I’d definitely go back.

I mean, if your idea of Grilled Texas toast is a piece of bread, toasted, and covered in garlic powder then this place is for you! This is basically the McDonald’s of bbq, food is alright, it’s not horrible. If you want real bbq go to short stack down the road on us 19.

Simple BBQ nothing fancy just a solid go to BBQ joint. Décor is a play on words that has you thinking BBQ Pit Boss but then you go in and it’s all casino pit boss. I’ve used them to cater parties at our home and my office. Delivery and setup reasonable, staff is friendly. Coupons in local flyer every so often. Try them out for sure.

I used to come to Pit Boss ages ago. It was my Dad’s favorite place in the world. Since I was craving MEAT, I took my mom out for food. When we got there, the scent of roasting meat over whelmed us(in a good way) and we made our way inside to the almost empty dining room. We were told by the waitress(Who was eating her own lunch) to sit where ever we liked, so we did. Mom ordered the Pitboss special — a pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides and a drink($ 8.99) and I ordered a full pound of ribs dinner(+2 sides and bread) with an iced tea. We didn’t need any appetizers and we reminisced while we waited for the food. When it came, the serving sizes were pretty large. Mom and I both ended up taking things home. I adore their potato salad, but their green beans were pretty weak. Their ribs were amazing.

Poor overall. Staff being friendly is the only reason for 2 stars. A waitress came to take our drink order and I asked about the«fried green tomato» special. Specifically I asked if it was a cornmeal batter or simply floured… She did not know. She returned a few minutes later and said«they come with the batter on them already». So I still didn’t know what the batter was but I did know they were frozen so we passed on those. We got the fried mushrooms instead. Then another waitress came to take our order and she seemed to know the menu and was very accommodating. The food was greasy and didn’t have good flavor. I think the dog got more of the ribs than we ate… The sides were the size of thimbles as mentioned before too. We won’t be back

Pit Boss has been our go to for BBQ for quite some time. Service is consistently good and the food is on point. Tried the corn fritters today and they were solid. I’d recommend leaving the powdered sugar off as it was a bit overboard. The pulled pork sandwiches we ate were more than enough food! We will be back.

I have eaten here very often over the years. This is one of my go to lunch spots. I am gonna try the frog leg appetizer today. I usually get the pork sandwich w steak fries which is always good. Also most of the sides are very good, and fav for dinner is the chicken and baby back rib combo. This place has some of the best bbq chicken i have had. I am not much of o bbq chicken person, but here it is very good. One of my favorite local bbq hangouts.

We have gone here multiple times and usually the food is good. The redneck eggrolls are really good but a little greasy. My usual is the pulled pork dinner platter with the okra, garlic bread and green beans. The food is good for the cost and I feel that this is a good barbecue place. Every time I have gone in the restaurant is fairly clean, the tables have been bussed and the wait staff is fairly attentive and very friendly.

Pit Boss 3 meat platter, Philly Sandwhich, and chicken tender meal made dinner for 5. Also had left overs for 2 days. Very yummy and meat was smoked to perfection. Piece of chicken could have been bigger, and they forgot my Texas toast in the carry/out order. However, giving 4 Stars since the food made me feel very satisfied wanting more.

I like hole in the wall restaurants so we tried this place on a whim. Good BBQ for a neighborhood bar. And we did have our kids with us as did another couple & felt comfortable with the kids there. Tables and bar area are separated. Okra, French fries & onion rings were good. Fried mushrooms were good, crisp and it was a huge serving. Both the BBQ pork sandwiches and the Philly cheese steak were good sized and very yummy. There was only one server and one bartender at lunch & they both did a great job. They were fast and nice even with about six tables all trying to get lunch fast & get back to work and four or five people at the bar hanging out. The food was fresh and hot & we all had left overs. If we’re in the area and in the mood for BBQ we’ll go back.

I’ve had worse but I definitely have had better. This place is still not close to the goodness of Hungry Harry’s in Land O’ Lakes. Went there for lunch and got the pulled pork sandwich lunch special. Comes with 2 sides and iced tea for $ 8.99. Good deal. The pulled pork was decent but really didn’t care for Pit Boss’s bbq sauce. It has an odd taste that is kind of hard to explain. Thick in a dirt-like consistency. Don’t get me wrong; it wasn’t bad but just wasn’t good. Their baked beans were so-so. Mushy and bland. Fried okra was good and they gave me plenty. Service was quick and nothing really to complain about.

The sauce is good… thats it. Everything I have tried here is just too greasy and I always leave feeling sick. I have tried it 3 or 4 times in the last 10 years just because I don’t really know much else in that area however it is official, I’m not going back. This last time we were there I realized the restaurant itself seems to be a hangout for locals, so the bartender is inappropriate and rude and they all think its funny. I agree with Jason S who says the best thing about this place, is the smell outside.

If you have a choice between Sonny’s across the street and Pit Boss check out Pit Boss! It’s really yummy. I usually get the pork sandwich on garlic bread! Talk about drool… This go round I enjoyed the chicken sandwich chopped up with BBQ sauce and fried okra! I’m in heaven at this place but stick to the chopped BBQ I didn’t like the ribs so much and be sure to come hungry!
