Great bbq. The brisket was spot on and didn’t need any sauces. The sauces were awesome. The home made Mac and cheese is a must. They even gave everyone in the restaurant free key lime pie.

Started off pretty rudely when the waitress showed and asked«What do you want to drink?» No introduction or pleasantry. Customer service 101… especially when it’s my first time ever at the restaurant. Should have left at that point but it smelled too good to leave… yet. When we were ready to order, I was informed that they had no pulled pork. What? That information would have been great upon arrival but I was gonna power through and find something else. The wife decides she wants a salad but since there isn’t any pulled pork, she wants to substitute beef brisket in its place. She was told that she can’t do that and to top it off, they don’t have normal salad, as they ran out of that as well, only Caesar salad. Outrageous. That was the final straw. That was my first time and my last time at this joint. Shame. We went to Sonny’s instead. Good olé reliable, Sonny’s.

Arrived at 6:45 on a Friday night and they were out of pulled pork, brisket and burnt ends. Sorry to say we left and may not try it ever again.

We stopped for lunch and we were glad we choose this restaurant. Service was great… food was better. I had Burnt Ends Sandwich and my husband had Smoked Rueban. He said his sandwich was awesome… mine was good also. The only thing that was wrong is that they did not have brisket yet because it wasn’t ready yet and I would have rather had that than the pork version. We will be back again just a little later.

Let me start by saying that we really liked the pulled pork. The meat was smokey and rich and had a great taste with the Carolina Mustard sauce. The portion was quite generous. That is where anything positive ends. The service was poor, even though she was pleasant and clearly trying. The sides were awful. I doubt there was any real cheese in the mac n cheese. The potato salad was Sam’s Club. The biscuits were also Sam’s and had been microwaved, giving them a weird texture. The fries were golden brown but nasty soggy. Someone needs to research what potatoes actually crisp when fried. Good sides area BBQ joint must. Grab a sandwich but that’s all that is worth it.

The best BBQ, ribs and brisket I’ve ever had … and I’m 54 years old. The food melts in your mouth. You won’t be disappointed.

The chicken & ribs TRULY were falling off the bones, GOOD. The potato salad & collards greens were very bland(like hospital food). The baked beans were very good. The waitress & the owner were EXCELLENT with everyone, including their regulars. i’d go back just for meat & warm service attitude, if nothing else!

My wife and I were looking for a local place to enjoy good BBQ. Being unfamiliar with the area I pulled up some recommendations on Unilocal. The short Stack caught my eye and after reading the reviews we gave it a try. We remembered passing the place on many occasions, but its looks from the road didn’t paint a fair picture of what was inside for those who enjoy good smoked Pork. I had the brisket, baked beans, mac n cheese along with corn bread. My wife chose a half rack of ribs, salad, baked potato, Texas toast. Both our meals we very flavorful and moist. We tried 3 sauces, regular, spicy and Georgia mustard. They were all good and unique. The owner came by several times to make sure our meal was good. The waitress was attentive and you couldn’t ask for more. We will be back and probably bring friends.

Amazingly good bbq spot. Just come taste the food and you’ll understand. The brisket is outstanding along with the creamy Mac and cheese. The homemade bbq sauces are very delicious as well. Not many people know about this place but once you do, you’ll be coming back for more. Oh, and I like their blue cups.

We had the rib platter with greens and beans. They are smoked nicely and fall off the bones. The brisket was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Also, the corn pudding was great. Next time we are going to try the banana pudding. The price is right for what you get and the service was great. I have had BBQ all over and this was great. Good service too! Will be back again.

This place is great. I can only imagine that the bad reviews on here came from first timers who just happened to get here on a bad day. In my experience, every mom and pop joint will have a bad day now and then, and BBQ is very hard to do. That being said, 9 out of 10 times that I’ve been here(and I am somewhat of a regular) the food has been fantastic. I honestly believe their smoked crispy wings alone could make them famous. I have had almost everything on the menu. This is one of those places I really hope sticks around.

The decore was fun, the staff was not. I could see major differences how their small staff greeted and treated the people, but its about the food, right? Dry rub or no rub bbq lacking flavor. The brisket was very fatty. The pulled pork was not tender enough and I found it to be a little dry.

Full disclosure: I have very high standards when it comes to barbecue. I have a brother-in-law that makes out of this world barbecue concoctions for the family, and doesn’t get paid for it. So, when I’m paying for barbecue, I have pretty lofty expectations man. I was on my way home, and hadn’t had a bite to eat all day and it was around 2pm. I pulled into this place randomly without checking reviews. I could see and smell the deliciousness in the smoker when I pulled into the parking lot. The waitress advised me I could sit where I wanted to when I walked in, there were four other tables with patrons consuming food. The interior is decorated with signs with clever/sarcastic/trite/hackneyed sayings. I ordered the meat trifecta/trio or whatever they called it. I went with brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. I ordered beans and collard greens as my sides, and texas toast as my bread. They came out strong with the brisket, moist, smokey, and delicious. The ribs were tender, and came off the bone easily, but the flavor was lacking. The pulled pork was decent and relatively moist. The greens tasted fresh, and although the baked beans didn’t blow my skirt up, at least they added flavoring and fresh onions. The texas toast tasted like texas toast. The food came out quickly, and the chef/owner came out twice to check on me and make sure that I was enjoying everything. The value is middle of the road. I would come back, the brisket won me over. Just one man’s opinion, but I give them a solid four.

Wow! The BBQ is fantastic. We just moved from ST Louis and love bbq, and Short Stack didn’t disappoint!!! The brisket was amazing and melted in your mouth. The sweet potato fries were hand cut and had the perfect amount of seasonings. My picky children even ate something other than chicken fingers! The corn bread and corn pudding were moist and delicious! I can’t wait to go back.

Totally excellent BBQ! My husband and I split the 3 meat platter with one extra side. Pulled pork, ribs and a generous portion of brisket with delicious corn pudding, real mashed red potatoes, Cole slaw and moist corn bread. So much food we were stuffed, but still opted to split dessert. Unbelievably, a giant dessert appeared — at least 1.5 pounds!!! Already planning our next trip.

Wow, just wow. Passed by this place yesterday and made a trip to go today. Glad we did. From the begining greet, to the farewell was outstanding. I should know, I’ve been in the service industry for over 13 years. The waitress grabbed our drinks and the owner chatted with us, giving the recommendation of their«corn pudding». We got the fried pickles for an appetizer, come with boom boom sauce. Yum. I ordered the pulled pork with the corn pudding. So glad I took the recommendation, as we ordered two to go! The pulled pork was perfection! Right amount of pull and chunks. Nephew had the kids grilled cheese. Took a bite because my neice said it was the best grilled cheese she’s ever had… Had to stop her from eating her brothers meal too! I’m not from Florida, but I will be back for this place.

First off I have to say we went with a group of 12. Dee Dee was our server and she was very attentive. It did take a really long time to get our appetizers which came out just a few minutes before our food :(The blooming onion and fried pickles were good but the point of an appetizer is to have something to munch on while you wait. That being said, the bbq was fantastic! Best pulled pork and brisket I have ever had. Everyone was in agreement on that. Some of the sides do need some work through. Green beans: mediocre(I’m a firm believer that southern green beans need bacon and seasoning). Corn bread: dry. Corn pudding: delicious. sweet potatoe fries: the best. Regular fries were good as well. Mac & cheese: great flavor but we’re mushy. Over all we will be back in hopes they will work out the kinks. The bbq really was the best we ever had!
