We were greeted immediately upon our entrance to the restaurant. Once seated, the waitress came over and took our order. When the food was brought out(which was very good) I saw the waitress sit down with another staff member and eat her dinner while on the phone. Not once did she ever come over to see how we were doing. She never even looked up. After we were done and sitting there quite a while I had to ask for our check. Then she finally got up and still never asked how our dinner was. I’m not sure I would go back quite so soon. Our waitress was not attentive at all.

Very good food, the staff is very attentive and is willing to accommodate and substitutions. Filet of sole is my go to and my boyfriend loves the chicken maestro. This place is def one of our favorites!

Went the other night and ordered chicken scarpiello. Out came a plate of chicken chunks in a brown sauce and one vinegar pepper. When I asked the waitress about the peppers she kindly brought out a bowl of brown gravy and with more vinegar peppers. Nothing was mixed, there was no sausage no potatoes… Chicken in a brown sauce… i don’t know who they think there were fooling. I couldn’t be bothered about asking for the other components of the dish. I won’t go back.

I will say — excellent food! I was there this past Friday night at 9:00 and was disappointed upon entering and not being acknowledged as we should have been. We were asked if we had a reservation, but did not. It took about 10 mins. for us to be seated as personnel fluttered to the front and back and didn’t say anything. There were 2 tables right in front that were available. I chose to wait and neither of us was disappointed. The menu is not extensive. I ordered the rigatoni with zucchini and eggplant. The sauce is delicious and it was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered a chicken scaprariello which was also delicious. Will defintely go back. The restaurant is small and probably accommodates 50 people. It’s dimly lit, good for couples and cozy. The waiter was also very cordial and did not hover.

We’ve always loved the food here, but had an experience the other day which makes us reluctant to return. The charming waitress presented us with a bill where we were overcharged on the beers, and one meal. We had the distinct impression this was deliberate, so CAVE! patrons.

Food was ok, nothing special. I made a reservation for 6 at 7PM on a Saturday night expecting reasonable service. Boy was I wrong. Service was terrible! SLOW! Tables that came in after us finished eating well before we did. The staff was barely professional. We had to ask for water glasses a few times. There were three on the table, we asked for 3 more and they brought 2. we were still short one and we had to ask another time until we got it. We asked for water refills twice and gave up, they never brought it. We had to wait a LONG time and then had to flag down the server to order our dinner. At the end of the meal after we paid the check I thought I would ask for the owner, he was there and I calmly shared my displeasure with the poor service and he really didn’t seem to care. He said yesterday they were empty today they are busy… Clearly they are understaffed and the owner does not care about his customers. I will NEVER go back. Like I said, the food was nothing special. We did enjoy the bread and salad, the rest was typical. Not great, not terrible. But, the poor service is reason enough to go elsewhere. don’t waste your time or money!

Have been a patron since they day they opened. Bet that’s almost 15 – 20 years. Usually don’t write reviews but was annoyed to see some moron give this place one star because groupon screwed up. This place is as good as it gets for a local family Italian restaurant. The food is excellent in every sense of the word(especially the parmesan dishes). the service is excellent and friendly. The owners are friendly and nice(not at all like the moron who wrote the one star review above). Can you imagine a little place like this where its almost impossible to get a table some times during the week! If you live in the local area its great. I just wished they delivered.

I go here mainly just for their Caesar Salads, they are that good and take it out. I’ve had some of their main dishes and they are also good. Caesar Salads come with very fresh bread. It’s hard to get a Caesar Salad that is made right these days, this place knows how to make it.

Expensive. Not crazy about the food. Inside is romantic looking, would be nice for a date.

This place regularly serves delicious old fashioned Italian food at a neighborhood price. We sometimes get takeout and the kitchen has always been willing to make their fresh fish to my order(and the Livornese is special). Pizza is not to be missed here either. Their Sicilian is the best I’ve ever had in Westchester.

There are very few occasions where I feel the need to give a restaurant 1 star on Unilocal but Maestros restaurant had possibly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The owner of the restaurant is arrogant and rude. We purchased a Groupon hoping that we would be introduced to a «neighborhood gem» what we received was exactly the opposite. The groupon didn’t have any restrictions with regards to what could be ordered however when we sat the waitress promptly told us that there was a $ 10.95 max on appetizers and $ 18.95 max on entrees for groupon. We then asked if we could pay the difference for a more expensive entrée of which we were told a resounding no. We offered to pay cash for the additional charges still no. So I asked to speak to the owner. This is where it really went down hill. The owner proceeds to yell at me, explains that he keeps having the same problem with all of the patrons trying to use groupons and he won’t allow us to pay the difference. So clearly there is an issue. When I tried to explain to him that the fine print of the groupon didn’t restrict or specify a maximum dollar amount on each entrée he kept trying to tell me it did(yet he refused to look at my groupon which I was trying to get him to read). Then he had the audacity to tell me he was busy and then tried to dismiss my inquiry/complaint. When I tried to explain again I got a defiant«I’m busy here just go sit down»…to say we were offended is an understatement. We picked up our stuff and walked out the door. We will be calling Groupon to explain this situation and to ask for a refund. Additionally I’m shocked that this place is still in business with such a lack of customer service skills. Do yourself a favor and stay away! No lure by Groupon or anything else to get yourself known is going to help when the owner is a complete jerk.

Large portions, homemade bread, and delicious food(I really like the chicken parm). The décor is a little old school but the food and service are great – maestros is a breath of fresh air from other restaurants trying too hard.

This place used to be very good but over the years has become unpalatable. The chicken scarpiello consists of chicken and brown sauce. Where are the rest of the ingredients? The red sauce tastes like Ragu. Bottom line, there are much better Italian restaurants in the area with authentic, quality food.

Love the food in this place. Best eggplant rollatini n spaghetti primavera. The bread in the beginning of the meal is served warm n it is delicious. Great value, considering the portions are huge n they come with pasta or salad. Keep up with the great service!

Authentic Italian! Amazing salad and bread. The service and food quality are always spot on perfect and absolutely delicious, Maestros’s never disappoints on any level. A hidden New Rochelle gem, you must try this restaurant the next time you want amazing italian food. The prices are extremely reasonable as well.

I liked this place for everyday Italian. We had a large order of takeout including main dishes. The fish and veal were good. My mother-in-law had chicken francesa. The service was good, the food was there when they said it would be. The garlic bread was average and the plain tomato sauce was a bit too plain for me. 3 means i would come back and order for a simple Italian meal in the New Rochelle area.

I think this place is much more enjoyable and the food is better quality if you eat in the restaurant rather than ordering out. They give a lot of food, and they give bread that’s really really good. It’s a small place, so it can be very cramped when crowded.

Very good. The pizza bread that they serve with dinner is great, especially when you dip it into the chicken scarpiello sauce.

This strip of businesses on North Avenue sees a good deal of turnover, so it says something that Maestro’s has been around for as long as I can remember(to be more specific, 25 years). I recently dropped in for the first time in ages and enjoyed very professional service and really rather good food. Entrees come with both salad and a side, and most are in the $ 15 or $ 16 range. I had the excellent chicken parmigiana(with enough for lunch leftovers the next day), and the spinach with melt-in-your-mouth garlic cloves(which I chose over pasta or the other vegetables they had). The fresh salad with vinaigrette was a good start to the meal, and I also recommend the shrimp oreganata entrée, which I sampled and thought was very nicely seasoned. The cannolo(big enough to share) was the perfect Italian dessert. Bravo, maestro!
