We have been vacationing in NSB for years and have had the blue crab dip to go(delicious!). But tonight decidedto dine in. I had the special which was a Grilled Yellowfin Tuna with a florentine and shrimp cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I have ever had! I live in Atlanta and have paid twice as much for a meal they wasn’t near as good! It was amazing! Mom had the fried shrimp and went back the next day with her friends do they could have it!

My favorite place in New Smyrna Beach. Fresh seafood at a fair price. Best Key Lime Pie anywhere. You can’t go wrong. Forget the overpriced Norwoods. A must try.

My family has been coming to NSB for 35 years and I’m pretty sure this was my first time here. It was some of the best seafood I’ve eaten anywhere. I had the combo plate with shrimp, scallops and yellow fin tuna. Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food arrived quickly. The air conditioning wasn’t quite adequate and the food came in Styrofoam boxes with plastic utensils, so I can’t give it 5 stars. But f you’re looking for great food and a casual atmosphere, I highly recommend it.

Very much enjoyed the fresh seafood at Ocean’s. A casual little restaurant, great value and quick service. We shared ½ lb peel and eat shrimp and an order of fish & chips, delish! And what a deal, $ 13 and some change.

I’ve been eating there for years. But lately the food and the service both seem to be slipping. I ordered takeout the other day which was the Wahoo special with a sauce and steamed vegetables. I am hoping the raccoons in my neighborhood enjoyed it out of my trashcan it was gross. There also seems to be a new group of faces there and they are not hospitable… In fact, they are kind of inattentive and rude. It will probably be a long time before I go back there.

I wouldn’t eat here if they gave me my meal for free. Absolutely the rudest people I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. We stopped to get a slice of pie. Once inside we discovered that they have a $ 10 minimum purchase on a debit card. The lady at the counter was rude about it and acted like she didn’t care if we ever came back. I can’t believe this place stays in business.

This place hit the spot. Absurdly fresh grouper, blackened, was wonderful and reasonably priced. This is a no frills place. It’s a seafood market that also serves meals(no waitstaff-you just order at the counter and when the food is ready they’ll bring it to you or you pick it up at the counter, served in takeout containers). The sides were okay, totally acceptable but didn’t hold a candle to the delicious fish. We came here a little before 7 pm on a Tuesday while my 2 young kids were on the verge of meltdown from hunger and exhaustion from travel and beaching. Dinner was fast, fresh, yummy and not what I’d call expensive for quality seafood. The staff was friendly too. As a bonus, we spotted a wood stork near the parking lot as we were leaving; that was very cool.

Great casual place to eat. It even has a seafood market inside. I ordered 1lb boiled red shrimp that came with butter and it was excellent. Pricing was fair as well.

We got the fish and chips and it was disgusting and mushy. Definitely not a nice firm whitefish. The whole place smelled like dead fish as well. We asked what kind of fish it was ahead of time and she said Basa, which I had never heard of. It was very mushy and had an off putting flavor. We also got the key lime pie to go, which was tasty but my daughter is allergic to nuts and we noticed after starting to eat it at home and after her mouth was burning, that it had nuts in the crust. I know we should have asked but, are not used to getting things containing nuts without being notified. The women that waited on us was quite rude as well.

We dropped into Oceans for a quick lunch while passing through town. Oceans is primarily a fish market with a very good kitchen attached. The cashiers and waitstaff were all very pleasant and helpful. I had the oyster sandwich that consisted of four nicely cooked oysters, lettuce, tomato, etc. It wasn’t exactly an oyster«Po Boy» but every close. The french fries that came with the sandwich were pretty ordinary but perfectly cooked. My bride sampled the grouper sandwich consisting of a nice piece of perfectly cooked grouper and some decent coleslaw. If I were a local, I would definitely check out the fish market as they had some beautiful local fish.

Great fish n chips! And their chicken salad was huge and had great flavor. Looked like a locals kind of place. The cashier was very nice and all the workers said hello, which to me means a lot when people in an establishment acknowledged their patrons wether they a serving them or not. It was a nice place for lunch or if you wanted to do take out. I wouldn’t recommend it for a night out. And although it was very clean it had a pretty sharp fish smell(they also had fresh seafood, that looked of great quality!) that takes a few minutes to acclimate yourself to.

Always tasty food. My fav is shrimp basket! Good prices in restaurant & fish market. Fries are those crunchy type, not a fan. But really upset to learn the fish N chips he ordered was basa(aka Vietnamese catfish) :(. Folks this is Florida! Stop selling imported crap. Good batter on fish though. Will return — just not to order foreign fish! Update: Ate again today fried oyster dinner and fried flounder dinner with pasta salads. Good.

So Im a local that has been coming here for years for the good seafood, however today i asked a question about the food that i had ordered. The employee was so unbelievably rude to me that i about just said«alright bitch». Needless to say this place won’t be getting my money for the rest of the year.

Very good food, but they barely run the A/C so the whole place is sweltering, and you have to really tip-toe with the ladies behind the counter because you ain’t seen defensive and irritable until you’ve been here. Their pleasantness borders on the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld or, if you’ve ever seen Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Amy’s Baking Company. The best thing to do is to get there early, before they run out of your favorite items, and try to ask as few questions as possible if you value your head not being bitten clean off at the neck.

I bought a full pound of Wild Mahi from the market for $ 13 and made a dinner for 4 with left overs for under $ 40. It was one of my best choices made. The fish was super fresh, no smell, not fishy and was exceptionally tasty. Wish they had this back home.

We visited on a Thursday night recently. All of the tables were full and there were lots of people coming in for take out. It’s just a basic fish market with a kitchen, plastic tables and chairs. You give your order to the very nice lady at the counter and they bring your food to you in foil lined styrofoam containers. We ordered: Fried shrimp — very dry and chewy, not good Grilled scallops — tasty and perfectly cooked Chicken tenders — OK. slightly over done. Fries and onion rings — the fries had that crunchy coating on them and were really greasy, the rings were probably frozen and pretty meh. Pasta Salad — bland and boring Fried fish — reported to be OK but not spectacular Overall we weren’t very impressed.

Discovered this restaurant on the way to the beach. The parking lot was packed(that tends to be a good sign) and we decided to check it out. This place has a simple décor and is very casual. You ordered a dozen steamed oyster so, which was priced very reasonably, and a mahi mahi sandwich that was blacked perfectly. The portion size was great and most important to me, the service is superb. I left my card at the counter after paying and went outside to take a phone call. I love as really appreciative that several minutes later one of the employees found me and returned my card. Thank you! I will be back next time I’m in New Symrna!

Delicious seafood and great selection! We had stone crab claws, shrimp cocktail, steamers, grouper sandwich, ahi Caesar salad AND key lime pie! Everything was fresh and yummy! Very casual atmosphere, great place for lunch, would definitely come back!

The ambiance is just one small step up from«hole in the wall» and they don’t serve alcohol, but the food is really good and inexpensive. If you like fresh seafood at bargain prices, this is the place for you. The menu isn’t very extensive, but what they do serve is excellent. Our party had blackened grouper sandwich and the shrimp basket. Both were great. Oh, very good home made carrot cake too. They seem to do A LOT of take out business. It’s well worth a try! One of those restaurants I never would have discovered without Unilocal

I’m not a seafood person, but the people I was with wanted to go here. I had a blackened chicken sandwich with a three bean salad side. It was good and juicy. It comes with a slice of Romaine, tomato, onion and a spear of pickle. The bun is good quality. You have a choice of sides… fries, cole slaw, three bean salad. My friends had peel and eat shrimp and loved it. You order at counter and they bring food to your table. They have a deli counter with dips and seafood items to go. Great service.
