Tried this place for breakfast and it was delicious. Good service. The menu is Spanish-inspired and it was difficult to make a choice with the interesting options. I tried the Eggs Azule with the fried potatoes. They were generous with the ingredients. The fried potatoes were not the run-of-the-mill deep fried hash Browns but red potatoes wedges pan fried crispy with pieces of crispy bacon and a touch of yummy sauce at the bottom of dish. Just exemplifies their approach. I don’t know what they did to the biscuit but it tasted like burnt sugar in a good way. Delicious

Great food! Great service & good prices! This is a family business, not a chain & it makes a big difference. They’re open for breakfast & lunch & have a menu with a great variety. A MUSTTRY!

Great service, a creative menu that makes room for standards as well. Kick it off with a café con leche. Follow it up with the Eggs Azules, the sweet and salty french toast or the Eggs Florentine. You won’t be disappointed.

The Lomito sandwich was fan-flipping-tastic. The steak was tender throughout and flavorful. The Aioli fries are excellent as well.

Amazing food, amazing service. My waitress Dolly took great care of me and was helpful in deciding what menu item to order after wanting 1 of everything. Chicken and waffles was superb and the atmosphere was adorable. I dined alone, sitting at the bar allowed me to hear the conversations of several tables that were all elated and talking non stop about how great all of the food was. Lots of options for gluten free and specialty food. If I could give more than 5 stars I would because this place deserves it.

We were here on 4÷22÷16 for the first time. In a word, WOW! Makes me hate that I don’t live closer. I had the eggs Florentine. AWESOMENESS! Eggs Benedict but with spinach and asparagus. My son had the NSB Cuda Bowl. Also a fantastic looking and tasting dish. They even altered a dish for my sister because she’s vegan. World class food and people. Love their story. If you’re ever in New Smyrna Beach you have to pay them a visit. I would be a daily one if I wasn’t in Orlando. Keep it up guys

Friendly staff. Came in on a Sunday around 1230 with my son. Had the Tango omelette and added spinach, grits for the side. Kitchen did not add the spinach to my son’s western omelette and his came out about 5 mins after mine. That said, the food was good. A couple of seats outside. My son said he’s had better service last time he was here. All in all, it was good.

Relied on the reviews and was not disappointed. Awesome laid back atmosphere with delicious food. Had eggs Benedict to die for as well as eggs and steak that was also extremely good with the steak done to perfection. Never had better grits — lightly salted with just right amount of butter and sprinkle of parsley garnish … Portions very generous with very reasonable pricing. Service team — outstanding professional and accommodating… Defiantly recommend to any visitors.

Favorite local go to place for breakfast! Friendly staff and owners. Occasionally the chef sends out special treats. Cooked food to order. Grilled muffins are Delish. Grits are the creamiest. So many choices.

What a wonderful place for breakfast. My girlfriend and I came in on an adventure for breakfast, stumbled upon this hole in the wall gem. Though slightly small the restaurant was busy and very clean including the restroom. The staff is very friendly, the food that’s just a whole new story. I had the Eggs Florentine, my girlfriend had Eggs Benedict. Both were extremely beautifully plated and the taste was even better, the one and only one thing that I could have thought to be better would be the Hollendaise sauce could have been a bit more seasoned… Other than that… A fantastic place to have a great quality meal! So impressed.

This café offers good food with Argentinian influence as well as more standard fare. The empanadas(both chicken and steak) were delicious — good quality, flavorful meat surrounded by a tasty shell. The chorizo sandwich was also very good. The fries can be upgraded to aioli fries, but I’d suggest getting the aioli on the side as our were a little too smothered in the sauce. Skip the sweet tea(which is unsweetened tea with sugar added and, therefore, not true sweet tea!)

This was our first visit to Wake Up Café arriving a little after 9:30AM on this Sunday morning. We found the restaurant mostly filled with customers and only one two top table outside available which we gladly accepted, the weather here has been absolutely fabulous starting in the mid 70’s with below average humidity, it actually was a much better choice than we expected being there are only two tables outside under the cover. Our server quickly brought out our menus and took our drink orders she was very detailed, efficient and super friendly. The coffee was mild with rich undertones that requires nothing, adding cream or a sweetener would distort this very distinct blend it’s obvious the owner spent time selecting the perfect bean and roast to accent the culture correct offerings. Sausage and Manchego Cheese Omelette — This was a well put together combination of fresh ingredients and flavors that was executed perfectly. The mild ground sausage that was sparsely folded into this fluffy light omelette was not overpowering which is so prevalent in a lot of meat filled omelettes, the decision to carefully portion the sausage is borderline genius even though my first thought was«they seem to be a little stingy with the meat» that was not the case at all, the premeditated measure of ingredients allows all the flavors to stand on their on? I doubt this is ever a consideration at most restaurants that focus more on the short order cook slopping out plates of greasy, tasteless breakfast selections with higher margins and not so much about the quality, flavor or uniqueness. Adding Manchego cheese instead of the traditional American or Cheddar varieties is a choice I was given. This special aged cheese made from the milk of a select breed of sheep in Spain has a firm and compact consistency with a buttery texture, and often contains small, unevenly distributed air pockets which doesn’t weigh down the omelette and actually helps the egg proteins to stay in solution during the cooking process resulting in a lighter textured omelette. The well developed flavor of this aged cheese is not overpowering but does carry the distinct aftertaste associated with sheep’s milk, its higher melting point doesn’t breakdown like some less complex varieties. Spanish Skillet — This creation combines a multitude of ingredients that create defined textures and flavors that are nothing short of amazing, the eggs can be ordered any style but with tomatoes I find scrambled really allows the flavors to penetrate the egg and provides a much better experience. The Pisto Manchego includes a savory mix of tomatoes, zucchini, squash, bell pepper, onions, garlic, Manchego cheese over fresh cut potato wedges lightly seasoned served with a fresh made tostada soaked in olive oil and piled high with tomatoes. Gluten Free Toast — thinly sliced served dry or have it painted with a light coating of aioli. It was outstanding and there is no reason not to experience this option it is delicious. After today’s visit there is no doubt this place moves to the top of the area’s breakfast options. It is truly unique compared to anything else in the area and is another example of how the food scene continues to be elevated in NSB.

#2 Breakfast spot Top 5 Breakfasts in the Area 1. Third Wave 2. Wake Up Café 3. Monterrey Grille 4. Black Bean Café 5. Peach Valley This is ALLLMOST up there with Third Wave in New Smyrna but not quite-the ambiance is not as nice(can’t beat the outdoor appeal) and the UNIQUE French toast item on the 3rd Wave Menu. But excellent prep, presentation, flavor, service, location etc etc etc! Definitely beats out all other breakfast places like The Cracked Egg, flap jacks, peach valley café etc. so many good things on the menu to choose from and some creative twists/surprises and you can’t go wrong with any of them. You will leave here happy! Go sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast– everything comes to the table piping hot. There was no wait when we arrived but by the time we left the restaurant became covered up and the wait became ridiculous. So get here early if possible. Otherwise have a plan b because I witnessed some people actually walk back to their cars and leave out of frustration with facing a wait!

Delicious, Delicious, Delicious! This mom and pop café is a treat for your taste buds. This place has new twists to breakfast and lunch treats brought to you by the owner/chef David. Beautifully decorated with this small town feel. We sat down and soon after there was not one seat available. I had some sandwich that started with the name Churi, I can’t even remember the rest of the name. It was a delicious chorizo sandwich mouth watering. We also had an empanadas each. I choose the beef empanadas that was delicious. This Argentinian/Spanish style café is a gem and a treasure. Highly Recommended!

After reading about this on Unilocal,I decided to check it out on my last visit to New Smyrna. I went for breakfast on a Thursday. The place was only 30% full. They let us choose where we wanted to sit. The staff is super friendly. The menu has a creative variety of breakfast options. Don’t go here if you want a 2−2−2 special! I had two eggs on top of a bunch of well flavored veggies. It comes with a tostada. I wish the tostada had more olive oil on it. I couldn’t taste the oil at all. When I had this dish in Spain they heavily coated the bread with olive oil and then topped it with the tomato. I also tried the shredded beef empanada. It was greasy, but had good flavor. There are many other creative food items I want to go back to try. There is plenty of parking in the attached parking lot. There are a few booths, but mainly tables with unconformable chairs.
