Love this place. Sat outside; they had umbrellas, roofs and fans. Great ambiance. Food was delicious with a great beer and wine selection. Ended up going during happy hour which is 3−5pm with a limited menu of salads and pizza by the slice, $ 3 draft beers and $ 5 house wines. Server was super attentive and friendly. A+ for him. The pizza slices were large for gourmet pie slices and it was nice to be able to eat different ones. Superb quality of ingredients. House wine was tasty. 3 pizza slices, flight of beer and a kale salad for $ 27 before tip. Our friends had brussel sprouts and shrimp tacos. The Brussel sprouts were very very good the shrimp tacos needed some sauce or a lime vinaigrette. But they were hearty and again, great quality ingredients. Must visit! Especially for a drink and a small bite. I’ll be back to try the rest of the menu.

Had a chance to revisit and was throughly satisfied with everything. The shrimp & grits really are some of the best I have had. The grits are very coarse with wild rice and other grains — very good. There are also chunks of chorizo then a blended oil drizzle. Don’t know if I will ever order anything else. Truly is that great! Third Wave has quickly become a favorite spot.

Me and my girlfriend wandered into this place based purely on the vibe. We were greeted by a friendly staff and sat at the bar. I looked over to the taps to see Cask and Larder golden ale, looked on the menu to see playalinda orange wit, and looked into to the kitchen to see my friend chef Bruno. What a happy accident. We started with Pimiento cheese and onion jam. The sweet and savory balance, giant portion, and generous helping of toasted artisan bread was amazing. We moved on to rock shrimp, roasted in the shell with what I think was a cumin butter. The meat was cooked perfectly, not an easy thing to find. The bone marrow with pickle relish was just as luxuriously delicious as it sounds. Blue point oysters on the half shell with mignonette and cocktail sauce, super fresh and $ 15 for 12. That’s less than most Orlando happy hour prices for regular dinner service. We finished with the purple wizard pizza, which I just finished eating the rest of for lunch. Benton’s bacon, cippolini onions, housemade mozzarella, and pomegranate seeds for the perfect salty sweet balance. I left happy, warm, and very full of excellent food; and it didn’t cost me a mint. I will be back as many times as I can.

I have to say these guys are great. They make great coffee using beans from the local Island Roasters coffee shop. Have dined several times in the lovely outdoor seating with our two dogs. The food is really excellent and the waitstaff friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. We keep thinking we need to go somewhere else to eat in NSB but wind up back here because it is a sure thing. Get an iced tea in and you will get a massive amount — great to go with the delicious cookies baked fresh daily. We just love this funky perch at the top of Flagler Ave.

This place is really delicious and ha a fabulous atmosphere. We’ve been here a couple times on day trips to the beach. Great wine and beer selections. The GF pizza is great; crispy and chewy. The regular pizza is delicious and the kale salad is divine. The little courtyard is so charming. Wonderful place!

This place is fantastic. My wife and I were searching for a new lunch place to try in New Smyrna while spending the day enjoying Smyrna Dunes park with our dog. Third Wave Café is dog friendly and has an delicious sounding menu, so it was a natural fit for us. We sat outside on the back patio/courtyard area. They did a great job of creating a relaxing and eclectic atmosphere with tables nestled among the foliage. We found the perfect table for two tucked out of the way that had a nice space on the side for our chocolate lab to keep his brown(i.e. floor colored) tail out of harms way. There were many intriguing menu options but ultimately we decided on the buffalo chicken crêpe, and the dirt merchant pizza. The crêpe was amazing. The apple fennel slaw was the perfect compliment to the buffalo and blue cheese flavors. The chicken was nice and tender. I would order this again and again. My wife had the dirt merchant pizza(cooked in the brick oven), and the it was equally amazing and perfectly cooked. We experienced good service. This is the kind of place you wish all restaurants could become. The atmosphere is great and the menu is intriguing. And most important, they are executing the menu with delicious proficiency. New Smyrna is blessed with some excellent dining options given it’s relatively small size, but this place will definitely be on our short list. I can’t wait to try something new next time, but I’m already craving the buffalo crêpe again… decisions, decisions.

This place has a Come a long way… The ambience has always been exceptional especially if you dine out back. Since opening they’ve hired a chef and the food is well worth the price. Great wine selection, great staff, great coffee and espresso(from a local roaster), great selection of teas and more.

We have visited Third Wave a few times and they never disappoint! The gluten free crepes are phenomenal and you couldn’t ask for better shrimp and grits. Everything is always delicious and service is quick and friendly! Tea is fabulous, as well. Give it a try! You will be glad you did!

If you don’t try this place, you are really missing out! It’s just what you hope for when you find a little café tucked away. The ambiance is perfect and our meal was delicious. Fresh and yummy! We had the Southwest Hash with fennel sausage and the artichoke crêpe. WOW!!!

This place is so awesome! I have been wanting to go for a while but it is over an hour away from where I live. I took a small detour on my way home from a trip to St. Augustine this past weekend and stopped by to check it out. I loved the lunch and the dinner menu so much that I decided to go for both on Saturday. The café has a large seating area outside and a smaller indoor area. At night with all the stringed lights the atmosphere is really lovely! I liked that the kitchen is behind the outdoor seating and you can see where they create their magical dishes! For lunch I had an espresso, a Belgium beer(chimay tripel), and my husband and I split the Italiano sandwich and the Dirt Merchent pizza. The sandwich was heavenly! It comes with soppresatta, prosciutto, mortadella, caciacavallo, roasted red peppers, shaved red onions, balsamic glaze, on a hero role. We also got a side of the tomato bisque soup which was creamy and very comforting! The pizza was topped with mozzarella, mushrooms, marinated artichokes, kale, and aceto balsamic. The pizza was really thin and cooked perfectly! Their pizzas are Neoplolitin style and made in a wood burning oven and they make their own dough. For dinner my husband and I split the cheese and charcuterie board, the fish sandwich, and the hangar steak with potatoes. The steak was so delicious! I loved the variety of meats and cheeses on the board and the fish sandwich was perfect! Their seafood is very fresh and all of the ingredients that they use. I wish I could eat here every week. Service was attentive for both lunch and dinner. I highly recommend this place even if you don’t live nearby it is worth the trip!

Absolutely adorable! Patio is decorated with an eclectic feel. Lots of things to look at. We had breakfast and everyone was very happy with their food. Shrimp and grits was yummy. Best dish was the red potato hash. Only disappointment was they don’t have bloody Mary’s. But the mimosa was probably a better option with the shrimp and grits. Only here for s long weekend but talking about coming back tomorrow. Don’t miss this place is you are in town!

Stopped in for a Sunday Brunch, was very pleased with the backyard patio; it was sunny, eclectic and comfy. The sweet potato and kale hash was delicious. It was big food, but somehow manageable. The place was busy and the wait staff seemed to have tables all over the map. We had difficulty flagging our waiter down. Normally this is a thrill kill, but the atmosphere was so relaxing, it didn’t ruining the experience.

My wife and I had lunch at this rated restaurant. We were not disappointed. The menu was small but the food was delicious. We both had the tomato/basil bisque and agreed it was the best we have ever had. I had a chicken salad sandwich and my wife had the west coast club. Both were very flavorful and unique. For example the chicken salad had sliced apples to add crunch and flavor, as well as dried cranberries and orange mayo. 4 stars instead of 5 due to slow service. Will try to get back to try their breakfast entrees.

High quality food, good selection of beer and wine, great ambiance and very good and appropriate décor. The pizza is really good, fresh out the brick oven, perfectly cooked. We went there because of how the pizza looked in the pictures, and we’ll be back for the pizza! Service is great, fast, and friendly. Seafood was my go to when visiting new Smyrna, third wave café might be my new go to.

This is by far the best cooking happening in New Smyrna Beach. The menu is elegant, the food is well seasoned, the flavor profiles are accessible yet unique for the area and the technique is excellent. The kitchen is setting a new standard. The FOH staff are kind, quick and make me feel right at home whether I’m just coming in for coffee and reading or a full meal. Congrats to Bruno, Julie, Joy and the rest of the staff for killing the game. They are easily five years ahead of the rest of the NSB restaurant industry.

We got there an hour early on a Sunday morning so we decided to have coffee before they open for breakfast. We sat inside a very warm and comfortable bar area that was very quaint. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my son ordered a full breakfast, both of which looked fantastic! One small repeating problem with my shrimp and grits caused Julie, the manager, to 86 it for the day. My son raved about his meal! I can say that my shrimp and grits had an excellent flavor and great texture wish I could have eaten all of it, but will be back another time to try again. Looking forward to our next visit, and the opportunity to eat the entire plate of shrimp and grits.

We took a detour to Third Wave on a recent road trip back from Georgia. We were starving and as a foodie, I can’t simply waste a meal on any olé’ roadside fast food joint. Thanks to Unilocal for guiding me to this lovely spot. All the conditions were set for the ideal dinner. The road had been blocked off due to a local market.(Anyone who knows me, knows how happy local markets make me!) The weather was perfect, and thankfully Third Wave has the most adorable outdoor seating you could hope for. We ordered the meat and cheese tray as I sipped on some delicious Malbec. The waiter took the time to explain each item on the board in full detail. Everything tasted perfect! I couldn’t think of a better place to end a romantic weekend. I can’t wait to go back and try more things!

What a way to start a vacation!!! A completely charming place for breakfast, and no doubt any meal. The owner, an artist, has created a lovely, peace environment with numerous whimsical sculptures, fixtures and planters. We ate in the back patio, where there is lots of space, beautiful trees and small lights. The frittata was refreshing with eggs, salsa, greens, avocado and fresh strawberries. The sweet potato hash with kale and chorizo and walnuts with two over easy eggs atop was very filling and tasty. The waitress was delightfully attentive and efficient. We will be in New Smyrna Beach for a week and will return for other meals, very nice place

It’s so wonderful to come to New Smyrna for the past several years and watching great new places like Third Wave show up on the scene. It’s our first night in town and we opted to take a risk with something new instead of one of our old favorites. And boy are we glad we did ! We sat outside and the atmosphere is great — awesome lighting and plenty of outdoor fans made it comfortable even on a July night. Steven was our server and really made it a great dining experience. His recommendations were on point and his serving style was friendly and unobtrusive. The pizzas were great — but they are platter sized and we ended up taking half of each home(score for breakfast tomorrow !!!). Great atmosphere, amazing food and top notch service — a great find in NSB.

What isn’t to like about this place? The atmosphere both in the coffee bar and in the café itself is lovely and homey. I wish my backyard looked half as amazing as the café’s outdoor seating. It’s stunning in a simplistic way and would be a great place to read a book and have some tea. Speaking of, their tea is crazy cheap! 3 dollars for a glass and a whole carafe?! That’s a pretty sweet deal. Their sandwiches are hearty and don’t skimp on the fillings(especially the Italiano, yum) and their soups are great. My lady had a half sandwich/cup of soup and I had a whole sandwich and upgraded to the kale salad AND we shared a pom pear tea for a $ 24 dollar lunch. I’m all about that! Our server was sweet and attentive and our food was ready in literally seven minutes, I will definitely be back. Also, their cold brew is to die for. I want to buy a big jug next time I’m in town to bring home and put in my fridge. No cream and sugar necessary for that deliciousness. Do yourself a favor and stop in here for a bite and a cup of coffee or tea(or both!).

Third Wave is one of the supreme highlights of the Flagler Ave renovation project! While I don’t want to give away one of the best kept secrets in the NSB, if you are in the greater Daytona area, put this place at the top of your list for your wining and dining list! The atmosphere reminds me of someone’s private backyard garden with plenty of seating space and a gorgeous handcrafted bar! I took Mom there for her birthday brunch and we had a stellar time! We split the Southwestern Hash with Fennel Sausage and a Caramel Apple Pecan Crêpe with a side of gelato and left with full bellies! Yum… YUMYUMYUM. We begged the server to take the empty plates away before we caused a scene licking them clean! Great eats and reasonably priced, TW is sitting pretty at the top of my NSB Go To List! Saturday mornings = $ 3 Mimosas! It would figure that I was driving that morning! Mom enjoyed both of hers! I cannot wait to go back, but for now I’m leaving with a definitive spoon drop on this one! Karen Out!

Today I took my 11 year old here for brunch. We parked our bikes at their bike rack conveniently located at the entrance of the restaurant. She loved then huge stack of chocolate chip flap jacks. And I enjoyed the Strawberry Crepes. YUM!!! Once again the wait staff(especially Taylor!) was attentive & made the experience special for us. We sat in the swinging chairs and had a relaxing brunch in the beautifully landscaped & shaded outdoor area.

This is my favorite restaurant in Volusia County… Maybe even Florida in general. The atmosphere is amazing, the food and service are great… This visit we had brunch… Banana pancakes(added bananas to regular flapjacks), chicken salad sandwich with side salad. YUMS. The chicken salad was a bit too sweet for my tastes but the salad balanced it out. The pancakes were delicious with the perfect amount of crisp. Also had a mocha which you could tell was made with great coffee and it was strong! Friends had the frittata and club sandwich– it was nice that the frittata came with a side of fruit! They said they loved them as well. I’ve had the rock shrimp appetizer before and that’s the best seafood I’ve ever had. Food is priced on-par with other NSB establishments but may be a bit expensive compared to Daytona pricing. However, with the atmosphere it is worth it. Ultimately: this is the place to go for a restful and delicious dining experience. Grab some gelato as well!

This was my second visit here the first visit I was turned away after I walked in and was told they were closed but they forgot to lock the doors didn’t think that situation was handled right since it was only a few minutes after their posted hours but not a deal breaker. This visit was much more what I would expect great service even though I only grabbed a latte to go. I do plan on coming back to try some of their other offerings.
