Food not so fresh and small portions. But here is my MAJORCOMPLAINT — which I’ve addressed a few times with management. Their delivery guys, with the extra-fast silent, motorized bikes most restaurants use, race along the SIDEWALK of 26th street like it’s a runway as they go flying down it and take off onto 3rd avenue. I’ve almost been hit several times. It’s illegal in the first place — and they have NOBELLS, NOHORNS, NOLIGHTS(as required by law). They also do this right ON26th street in the opposite direction of street traffic — and through the pedestrian crosswalk — going against the direction of trafic on 26th street. For this safety issue alone, I will not patronize them. Also — their Health Department food safety grade is a «B». From ANY sushi place, I absolutely demand an «A».

DONOTORDERFROMHERE. I just paid over $ 20.00 for sushi, there was barely anything there, the portion was so small I am still hungry. I am still so hungry I ate all the ginger, and drank a little of the soy sauce, might seem crazy but I just spent $ 20 on basically no food and I am STILL hungry. I beg you, DONOTGOHERE. I literally just ordered Cuban I am STARVING still.

Ordered from this place because my food ordering app said almost 200 people rated it with an average of 4 stars. The food came very quickly — less than 30 min. The miso soups obviously came from packets because you could still feel the powdery texture. The gyoza wasn’t fried long enough and was mushy. The shrimp tempura lacked salt. And the rolls were Luke warm which was pretty gross. My wife and I both started getting sick about 1 – 1.5 hours after eating from here.

I found a STAPLE in their sushi. When I called the restaurant to address this issue, they put me on hold and the workers started screaming at each other. Among the screamings were racial slurs towards me. Do not eat here.

Very average take-out sushi. It looks like a majority of their business is take-out because they have a four star and 400+ reviews on seamless. I ordered takeout California roll, rainbow roll and another roll with unagi and avocado on top. Some of the ingredients seemed fresh, like the fish, avocado, and unagi. But some other parts, like the crab within the Cali roll looked yellow(I don’t think it was from soy sauce) and the little tempura bits inside one of the rolls seemed stale bc they didn’t have that signature crunch when you bit into it. My standards for delivery for take out sushi are definitely lower so i would probably never eat at their physical restaurant but would order take-out again

Service is terrible, quality of fish is horrendous. I ordered a sashimi dinner off Seamless, estimated delivery time was 25 – 35 minutes. I called 20 minutes later, to check that my order was still being taken care of, otherwise I could cancel and just get pizza. The guy who answered the phone apologized and said the delivery guy had just left, so the food would be there in 5. It was another 20 minutes before the food arrived. At this point, I was beyond hangry. The food itself was extremely disappointing. You know that point where you’re so hungry, a steaming pile of feces would look, taste, smell good? The fish couldn’t even do that. It was so watery, there was fish juice at the bottom of the container. The mackerel had a briney, almost sour taste. The rice was so brittle and dry, it was like eating grains of sand. Don’t know how this place is still in business… absolutely disgusting.

Ive only ordered from here once but delivery time was point and it was pretty tasty. Also, contrary to other experiences Ive had with sushi in the area, the amount of sushi I received was decent for the cost.

I’m not sure who is in the kitchen and shedding so much but I found not one but two pieces of hair in my food. Long ones, too.

Tried here for delivery. It took 95 minutes to arrive, and when I called them to check on my order, they kept me on the phone for 30 minutes. If the food was good I wouldn’t complain but it my yellowtail tasted like it came from Petco. NOT fresh. After all that I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it 0 stars

Not sure about the atmosphere, because I ordered off seamless. However, Food arrives in under 20 min(that’s an automatic 3 stars just for efficiency). And the sushi I got for the lunch special was awsome. Simple but flavorful and quality of fish was really good. If you are expecting steakhouse and sushi samba style rolls slathered in mayo and sauces ur not gonna get that. This is real Japanese sushi.

My team and I order dinner from them every Tuesday for delivery. We order around 5:30pm each day and it usually gets here within 45 mins — which is great! While there are many Japanese dishes, I usually only order sushi. The fish are very fresh and the rice are usually still warm. It can get very pricey ordering by the piece but it’s worth it. I did order beef teriyaki dinner bento box once — with spicy tuna roll, shumai, and rice. The only thing I enjoyed was the shumai. The beef teriyaki was bland and there were a maximum of 8 pieces of beef. I was disappointed, I guess I’ll stick to my sushi.

It’s too bad that this place had decent sushi. Their customer service is pretty terrible. I ordered online and after an hour of no delivery, I called. The receptionist had the nerve to blame me for entering my address wrong, which is near impossible given that I ordered through seamless. After 4 calls, she offered a refund, which of course I took, but guess what happened? NOREFUND. It’s not worth trying to call them again. Buyer beware.

Just terrible. I used to order from here all the time but no more after this experience. I called 45 minutes after placing my order. A woman, who answered the phone as if it were the most painful thing in the world, said they«just got it». So convenient. A half hour later, she calls and says she lost my order! I tell it to her over the phone although she keeps getting it wrong when she reads it back to me. ANOTHERTWENTYMINUTESLATER(TOTALISOVERANHOURAND A HALFNOW) she calls and says they lost the payment information. Come on! I just cancel my order and place somewhere else. Just absurd how this all went down and while the worst of it, not the first time something like this happened to me here. DONOTGOHERE!!! I used to order from here at least once a week. Not anymore.

Ordered the 3 roll lunch combo on , around $ 13.00. The rolls were tiny and had way too much rice. They were meh… The shrimp mango salad had about 2 shrimps, at most and was TINY — definitely NOT worth the $ 7.45. I tipped generously and asked for extra ginger. I received 1 sliver of ginger. I’m not kidding.

Another botched seamless web order. It’s just not worth the trouble for such average sushi. And the customer service is poor at best. Stay away. Much better choices available!

The pro and con of big law is a lot of expensed dinners from midtown restaurants. So I’ve gotten to try a bunch of random sushi places. Unless they’re bad, you mostly can’t taste any difference between them. But Abumi is definitely the exception. It is the only place from which I will order sashimi. The fish is so fresh and delicious here that I don’t need or want a bunch of spicy mayo and tobiko flakes distracting from it.

Beware! This place has really bad sushi. The fish is not fresh at all. I had to stop eating it halfway through the meal. Go somewhere else.

Best sushi ever? I mean, the Philadelphia roll. that was always the one I made fun of(sushi with *cream cheese*?!), and here I was unable to get enough of it. The other sushi I ordered were great and fresh, too, and I’ll definitely come again.

Ordered sake don from Abumi via seamless yesterday and took about 40 min or so. I have to say their sake was very very fresh. Everything about the sake don was delicious. Compared to Monster Sushi I have to say Monster sushi has more sake(thick cuts) vs Abumi(thin cuts). For the portion I prefer to pay for Monster but for the quality I prefer to pay for Abumi. The salad and sauce was just ok. It was a little bitter. I would try soup vs salad next time. They gave me oranges in my order(a little treat/bonus) which I did not expect. The orange slices were very fresh and tasty. Overall I’m a fan. Sushi was so fresh I cannot complain. It was awesome sake.
