Patrick C., you’re an absolute lunatic… this is a great place… where else in this entire neighborhood can you find a place like this??? Where?

Whoever gives this place 5 stars is actually delusional, like has never been let out of the house before. Bagel Stix isn’t BAD, however, but if you can go anywhere else, just do. The staff are very nice, and efficient, but they’re going face-first into a hurricane of tourists every day at this place, so it’s extremely hectic. That, and the hygiene/food storage standards seem to be a bit too lax for my liking; the salad bar is uncovered, with people reaching over it all the time, and all the spreads look like they’ve either been refrigerated uncovered, or left out to long. A lot of them have that weird, congealed look. Definitely not the best I’ve seen.

Like most deli type establishments in NYC, there are certain items on the menu that make you go back again and again. — awesome Bagels and they are generous with the spreads — great breakfast sandwiches — lunch salad-add-your-favorite-ingredients is equally fresh, well proportioned, and priced — blueberry crumb muffins are scrumptious! This was my go-to breakfast spot when I lived in the neighborhood. I’ll be back on my next visit!

I agree with the reviews that deem this place a rip off. Spare yourself the disappointment and get your breakfast catered literally anywhere else. A $ 280 breakfast for 10 people fed 5. The smoked salmon platter(for $ 10.95) a person was 40% lettuce, 40% tomato, 10% capers, and 10% smoked salmon. Awesome.

Excellent bagels but the fruit platter is a complete rip off. I ordered a fruit platter recently and what I got was a ½ pineapple, 1⁄3 honey dew and a ½ of a cantaloupe with a handful of berries… $ 45! Ridiculous. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I couldn’t enjoy the bagel spread. Highly recommend the bagels but would never order fruit from them again.

Bagels are good, but they implemented a new ticketing system which has slowed down their service to a virtual hault. Don’t expect to leave there on a weekend in less than 35 minutes

This might seem like a paradox but even though I only gave it two stars, I’m still here on a pretty regular basis. Only reason being that i live 3 blocks away really. Growing up in long island, these bagels don’t even remotely compare. The line is almost always long on the weekends and the guys who make my bagels consistently mess up my order. I’m not saying once or twice, I’m talking like 60 to 70 percent of the time. As in, they mess it up more often than not. i’m literally only asking for a bagel with bacon egg and cheese. one of the most basic orders but they either forget the cheese or egg or wrong bagel or something! I’m Asian, but i have no accent. I speak English fluently … I’m not sure what’s going on. Hell, they even get my name right at starbucks! And yet I keep on coming back… For any of y’all who want a good bagel, if you live close by, sure… come on by. Just make sure you enunciate your order CLEARLY! If you don’t live close by, it’s not worth the trip. Keep Unilocal’ing away.

If you like to be treated rudely, this is your place. No wonder the name of it keeps changing. The staff is so rude and they don’t care if you ever come back. On our recent visit, it was not busy, ordered 2 egg bagel sandwiches. They do not make your order in the order you are in line, there were people behind me getting there food before us. I asked and was yelled at by the counter guy…“it’s coming, just wait”. When I mentioned it to the cashier she just rolled her eyes and when the guy brought up the food, he and the cashier said to each other in Spanish, derogatory statements about me. Take your business elsewhere, I am

It’s midtown. It’s gonna be pricey. So I got over that before I ordered, even if I did raise an eyebrow at first glance. I will say they highly impressed me for delivery. It arrived in less than half the estimated delivery time, it was exactly as I ordered, they offer one of the better egg salads I’ve had in the city, the whole wheat everything bagel is awesome, the bacon was perfectly cooked, the sandwich was balanced and scrumptious. A bit pricey, but a good eat!

OKAY. I lived literally right above this place(The Metro). The name of this bagel joint changed like 3 times in my 3 years of living there but the bagels never did! I’m a fan because it was super convenient for me personally to grab a bagel for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner! Favorites: Always a 7-grain bagel person Tofu cream cheese Low Fat cream cheese Scallion cream cheese Veggie cream cheese Egg salad The staff is usually friendly, minus during the times it gets busy. Which is totally necessary. no friendly chats just move in and out please!(My kinda place) I have history with the bagel joint. I hope it’ll forever be there everytime I visit nyc. Currently in Cali so now I understand how important these places were… BBBbAAagelllssss I misss youuu!!! –1 Star because I know there are better bagels in NYC overall haha

Bagels are good. They always over do it with the cream cheese. But I think that happens every where. In the spring I like to eat on the outside since inside is always crowded. But I usually get my bagels & cream cheese to go

Eat here– if you’re in a hurry or have nowhere else to go. If you can opt to do better– do better. There’s no consistency or anything special. If you need a bagel, get one. A bagel with veggie cream cheese will usually put you out about $ 5. NYC gimmicky, inconsistent, sometimes your bagel is burnt, most of the time they get your order wrong. The place also smells kind of funny when you walk by, but they’re friendly and fast– so you’ll come in if you have to. Pick a bagel, eat the bagel. Good bagel? even better. Bad bagel? can’t say I didn’t tell you it was comin’.

They have the BEST everything bagel I’ve had anywhere — and I’ve tried many, many different places(even ones that are supposed to be amazingly good bagel shops). Their regular everything and whole-wheat everything bagels are so good and have the perfect amount of salt that when they’re fresh from the oven, there is absolutely no need for any cream cheese or any kind of spread. Pure bagel bliss. And only $ 1. Occasionally I’ll have the coffee or iced coffee there. Not particularly great but it’ll pass if there isn’t time for coffee from somewhere else. The staff is quick and efficient and usually quite friendly(when they aren’t too busy).

Quick and efficent and usually very cheery in the mornings. They’re heavy on the cream cheese unless you ask for a smear. The salads for lunch are pretty good — but I’ve defiantly had better vegetables. They slice them a little too large for salads here.

Seriously? $ 6.80 for a coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. Completely overpriced. Yeah, the bagels are good, but this combination should not be more than $ 5 — at the most!

I feel that having lived my whole life in NY makes me by default a bagel snob. Nothing made me happier than finding out that the bagel place next to my job had some banging bagels. Jackpot. A bagel place with fresh bagels that doesnt screw up my order? oh hell yea. I’ll be honest. Sometimes i swear my order comes out to a different total each time but its always circa the same amount. Everything bagel, scooped out, toasted with veggie cream cheese with a large iced coffee with skim … oh somewhere between 5 and 7 bucks … I should really start paying attention. Its hard to do that when youre looking at your watch, tapping your foot and waiting and waiting for your order when youre supposed to be at work in the next 2 minutes. + good bagels — sometimes uneccesary long waiting — hunch that my tab is always a different price every day … oh we’ll give you 3 stars. cause god you are my guilty carbacide pleasure.

Bagels get a 5! Lox Cream Cheese Spread get a 5! I went here for breakfast two days in a row and enjoyed an everything bagel and pumpernickel bagel(no egg bagels though) They don’t get a five because I did not have anything else on the menu and also because pre-made sandwiches bring you down a noch in my book(although I saw premade sandwiches at Bagel and bean too — maybe it’s an NYC thing). BAGELSBAGELSBAGELS — Fresh, crunchy on the outside chewy on the inside and great flavor.

One of the big problems with places that make the salads for you is that they expect you to know what you want.* This small bagel/deli/salad shop sits in a convenient location, just north of midtown and probably ideally suited to lunch-types who come in, spit out their order, get their food and get out the door. Sure, I was in a hurry, but I didn’t know the menu or the prices and, well, I need a few minutes.** The salad was good, though, to use a term the Unilocalillati will understand, they didn’t have a strong pour on the ingredients. Four ingredients(including chicken) came to $ 7.50 for a large salad, which is less than I pay for my lunch-type small deal at Westside Market in Chelsea. That said, the salad at Westside has more ingredients. This is a fine place to stop for a quick dinner. The bagels still appeared fresh at 7 p.m. at night, so it’s quite possible they keep making bagels(or getting them imported) all day. Some nice places to sit, including a little bar looking out the window on the left side when you walk in. Only problem? They charged me $ 1.15 for a CAN of Diet Coke. I mean, sure, I probably should have looked at the menu for the price before ordering***, but c’mon now. * — If I haven’t figured it out after 31 years on the planet, what makes you think I’m going to know now? ** — Not quite Simple Jack, but gimme a minute! *** — I don’t understand this«forethought» thing you’re trying to explain. Lips moving, sounds coming out. But I don’t get it.
