I have passed this shoe shop a trillian times, as I live in the area and this is a main thoroughfare — but for some reason, NEVER stopped in til this time when a unique pair just caught my eye. To be truthful, I’ve oft seen cute shoes in the window here, but always assumed it would be too expensive for me and not worth the pain… Then that fateful day… I walked in and nearly all the shoes displayed shared a single theme of comfort with chic modern style. Most soles are rubberized, and the heels are primarily low or flats! My kind of shoes! The prices are also quite good — there are tons to choose from, including boots, in the $ 39.99 shelves AND the $ 19.99 shelves! There was 30% off most other shoes, and those ranged from $ 59.99 to say $ 119 or so. So cute! I ended up asking to try on about 10 pairs, and the salesman and shopkeeper were patient enough to entertain my indecision. The salesman, who I learned was a ballet dancer and choreographer, was good at buttering me up with compliments. He sold me on the amazingly priced $ 39.99 low-heeled black boots(because these days most boots are made for fairly fat calves, and these were perfectly snug). I also ended up with these cute updated maryjanes at $ 42(they allowed me a discount off the $ 59.99 price since I was so enamored). I think I will be back — but now that I’m not employed full time I really have to watch myself! But for those of us with regular income — please go out and shop! There are amazing deals that won’t last forever. Plus you’re revitalizing the economy! SHOPSHOPSHOP!

So, I went to AR salon down the street for a life changing haircut and of course, I always get this high after a haircut that i need to buy shoes/handbag/clothing/etc. Good thing for bently’s. Nice edited shoe selection, and I bought a pair of riding-style boots by Franco Sarto. Decent brand, nice quality, reasonable price($ 160). I put them on this morning and they are a big struggle to get on my feet! I had to rearrange my outfit plans because I need to return them today. Damn it. I guess my high wore off. It is completely my own fault for purchasing under the influence of a new haircut, but I’m still kinda bummed. I’ll try to exchange them later today… wish me luck. UPDATE: I went to exchange the shoes and I found a pair that I liked, but the last pair in my size were split between the front window and the shelf… I put them on and they were different colors!!! So now I have a $ 156 store credit for Bently Shoes. Poor return policy.

Shoe stores can be tricky business. And by tricky I mean my accountant advises me to stay away from them. Personally, I feel that there is no reason to limit your shoe intake as there will always be a situation in which you had more shoe options for a particular outfit. With this said I was told to go here by two fellow shoe-whores in the same day and I simply had to abide. Murat greeted me with a «have you ever seen such a fantastic color in a leather boot» and from there our relationship blossomed. I might have gone a little overboard(3 pairs) but really the prices are incredibly reasonable. So while you may feel slightly guilty for disobeying that silly accountant, at least he might overlook your visit to Bentley’s since, hey, it’s not like you bought the car!
