The dip appetizer was delicious! Music was a little loud for the space. Went on a Weds night around 8 pm and it was not crowded. They do have a happy hour until 7 every night. Cocktail list includes Ti Punch which is one of my favs

I was bummed at first because they don’t serve Bloody Mary’s in the winter(local food thing). Then we asked leave the meat off(vegetarians) on a couple of delicious sounding dishes and they refused. We almost left but felt like jerks so we ordered the veg options which didn’t seem all that interesting. Wow, were we wrong! The veggie hash and egg sammie were awesome! So flavorful. Service was your typical snarky hipsters and atmosphere is chill. Pretty big place by local standards. I’ve since visited their LES location and had an equally delicious meal. I have to say, they were much more accommodating with substitutions!

Came here last night for dinner with some friends and had a great time. The food is delicious and the server was very nice. It was pretty late, so it wasn’t too busy — it’s nice to get out of the hustle bustle of Manhattan sometimes. The bread with burrata is to die for — I love my carbs and this one knocked it out of the park. We were able to try a few things on their menu and would recommend these standouts: — Burrata — Mushroom Skillet — Buff Chicken Sandwich — Tree-fil-a We paired the food with some wine recommended by the GM and it complemented the food well(forget what it was called it has a sombrero on it) as well as tried their cookie brownie dessert with whipped cream topping(so simple yet so good!). We also had this radish dish — was good, but probably my least favorite. Excited to try something new on their rotating menu next time I visit(burrata and bread is a staple, however).

Love the concept of the local beers & spirits. I was in for brunch last weekend, and it was the perfect spot for a little food/day drinking. I had the breakfast ramen — never heard of that before but it was awesome. Definitely need to come back at night very soon. The waiter told me I had to try the burrata at dinner. Can’t wait for all that cheesy goodness.

LOVECHICKENWEEK! I stopped in last week for pork week and had great tacos at the bar but the ½ roasted chicken blew me away. Can’t wait to see what’s coming up next.

One of my new favorite places in Williamsburg! Extremely fresh and local ingredients throughout their menu, which changes weekly, so you always have the opportunity to try something new. Ramp dip with fresh bread was to die for and the burger was perfectly cooked with great toppings. Staff was very knowledgable and accommodating. Organic and open atmosphere for a date night or a large party. Will be back again!

Have been here a few times for both dinner and brunch. Solid place. Love that the menu is seasonal and local. Everything is fresh and the cocktails are great. High recommend the burrata and breakfast ramen!

During chicken week, the food was tasty but much too expensive for the price. The $ 21 crispy leg is just that: a single chicken leg. A leg. On a plate. with nothing else. For twenty-one dollars. No sides. No nothin’. Unless you count the micro greens which is an accurate description as you practically need a microscope to see the 5 – 7 tiny leaves. The cocktail and wine by the glass menus left a lot to be desired. Few choices, none of them stand out. And the hard wooden chairs had us all rubbing our butts when we stood up! The buttered bread with burrata was a standout, and the asparagus with a fried egg was also delish. Perhaps worth trying again in a more interesting protein week?

Farm to table is not a super new concept the idea that the menu changes once a week based on whats available is! I have made this my go to spot in BK. I dig the music and overall vibe that hits you right when you walk in the front door and are greeted by a living wall of plants! Place is very approachable which is sometimes rare in the neighborhood. They also feature things like breakfast ramen durning brunch service brunch! I have not tried the chef’s table but it is something I plan on getting involved with ASAP. Can you dig it? Cause I can…

Love this spot! New open windows are amazing. Let the sunshine as you drink some incredible cocktails with un-imagionably better food. The burrata is fantastic plus everything is super fresh. Not to mention the house made pickle backs are top notch. Great spot for a date night or drinks with your ladies. Fresh, fun and great atmosphere. Always good jams playing and bartenders are super attentive.

I really wanted to like this place, but I was let down by the brunch experience. I brought two friends here who were visiting from out-of-town, after we had struck out trying to get a table at my go-to brunch spots in the neighborhood. The brunch menu was limited, and most of the items contained pork, without the option for substituting anything(even veggies or other items on the menu — I asked). The portions were small for the price. I ordered the Double Benedict, which came on two tiny pieces of bread and was served lukewarm/cold :(. One redeeming characteristic is their coffee, which is excellent(but also overpriced and served in a tiny cup). The wait staff was somewhat aloof, too. Perhaps I’ll go back in the evening for drinks or dinner, and if the experience is better then I’ll update this review.

I LOVED the menu online, so we went. Seemed pretty gluten free friendly(I loath being GF, but it’s a curse in the last 5 years). On arriving, almost nothing hot was GF. What to never say to a GF person? Get a salad. Such a shame! So many cool SIMPLE modifications could easily be done to make it work and make customers super happy. Instead, I’m writing a review with 2 stars. The waitress was sweet, and tried, but the chef would not do a thing to make it work. I’m talking, can you just use the cool unique blended cheese on your menu vs plain cheddar on the burger? No. Sorry, but today our food industry has made many of us ill(I, like most, don’t react much, if at all, to gluten in many European countries). As a chef, get over yourself a little, and make it work! Clearly they are creative at this place, and GF is so easy! Meat and veggies!

Food was great! however… let’s get to the important stuff. The bathroom was extravagant here is my play by play: There were two chairs for me to relax on if I needed to wait, but luckily the bathroom was open. I ventured closer and pushed the light door into a pleasantly lit room. There were old menus as wallpaper, saving the environment and giving off a cool authentic vibe. Next I sat down on the toilet, great diameter bowl, perfect for me. After I finished, the toilet paper was right there for me, 5ROLLS, I could go forever. I finished, flushed and stood up. Oddly there was no mirror but instead a motivational message of «You Are Pretty» which made me feel good about myself. There was good soap, not bar soap, liquid, the best kind. There were paper towels to dry my hands and a nice trashcan. Out of my whole experience there was only one drawback, and that was from the loose toilet handle, easily fixable though. Overall great poop experience.

I’m not sure why this place has only three stars(and so few reviews) because I went here tonight with my father, brother, and boyfriend and we were pretty blown away by the food. We were seated near the kitchen and Sandy, the chef/owner, ended up doing most of our service. We got the burrata, which was awesome, the mushroom skillet, which was superb, the golden beet salad which was superb, the spring carrots which were delicious with just the right amount of salt and honey. We also got the animal butter, which was very unique. It’s a stick of animal fat in a bowl. Once they bring it over, the server pours broth around it so it starts to melt. You spread the butter on bread and dip it in the broth. Half the table was crazy about it(including me) and the other half of the table was like«it’s good but we don’t totally get it?» ALSO: The bread that comes with the burrata/butter/skillet is irresistible fluffy and oily and amazing. The animal for the menu was rabbit AND chicken: we got rabbit baos, which were the favorite, rabbit ramen, which was excellent, the mixed bowl and the buff sandwich which came on fresh baked bread but was a bit too spicy for the person who ordered it. We finished with a coffee and chocolate pudding thing. They also have a short beer list but based on what we ordered it was very well-curated(a sour, a red ale, and an IPA were all hits). The only downside is that it is a little loud in a YOUNGSATURDAYNIGHTINWILLIAMSBURG kind of way that is not my personal preference(there was also an enormous birthday party going on a few tables over) and the acoustics are not great. But seriously the food is so tasty and original I cannot give this place anything less than five stars. Can’t wait to come back.

–a greeting at the door might be nice –having the wines listed on the menu would be nice –a shorter wait for $ 12 silver dollar sized tacos would be nice –having the POS system set up to accept the Brooklyn beer coupons you offered to your customers would be nice –a more concise menu would be nice(you have 3 sections to describe how rabbit and chicken are parted out? Those are 2 animals. Why do you have 3 sections?) –a different restaurant in this space would be nice Do not come here. You’ll be disappointed and leave hungry.

Went to dinner last night with a friend. This was my second visit to Black Tree. I had a terrible experience 3 months ago when they first started out… which is excusable. The owner invited me back. I was hesitant but I was overjoyed by my experience last night. Jake and Mack were phenomenal in taking care of us. The food was spot on. We started with 2 squash appetizers and the burrata. The bread is just good! It’s not made in-house but I’ll let it slide. :) We also had a few other items. I’m a vegetarian so I am unable to speak to the meat but my friend loved everything. We finished with a double fried doughnut… which was a bit heavy but amazing! I will be back for sure! The hospitality was wonderful. I hope all guests get the royal treatment.

Really wanted to give a great review but it really isn’t the best place to try out. We came in during Xmas eve with a reservation and ended up waiting for over an hour because they messed up. But the manager was really nice– treated us with picklebacks and appetizers. Finally got seated, but the food came in disappointing us again. Can’t speak for others’ but I ordered a fried rice but it wasn’t rice nor was it fried. Even American Asian food wouldn’t be this misleading… On top of that, the dish ain’t cheap. I knew that they had Christmas special dishes(so the options were less) so hopefully the regular menu items would be much better but… the drinks weren’t so bad, but again a little over-priced. $ 14/drink if I remembered correctly. Décor was nice but a little too dark– not sure if it was because of Christmas?

Food here is amazing. All sandwiches, burgers, and«featured animal» dishes are oh so juicy. The meats tender, breads crisp, vegetables fresh. Sandwiches with pig and the featured animal are guaranteed to be amazing. Mushroom & cauliflower sandwiches are both top-notch. The menu changes approximately every week. Any burgers, steaks, tacos, etc you see in the current menu you can be sure it will be delicious. Burrata is really really great. Haven’t had salads yet. All food & drink comes from less than 300 miles from NY — it’s their rule. Happy hour is 5−8PM M-Th or M-F, can’t remember. $ 4 beers, $ 6 wines. The space is comfortable, with a somewhat large space and huge glass windows. The cocktail program leaves a bit to be desired — the drinks sound good on paper, but haven’t been mixed well in my experience, feeling a bit watered down or maybe the flavors aren’t working together. Their beers are awesome. Service can be a bit low-key at times, but you’ll get everything you need within a short amount of time. Plainly, come here because the food is amazing. Like, really really good… a lot better than 99% of places that have this food. Particularly the sandwiches and dishes involving the current animal.
