The salads bar is totally fine. No complaints there. Atmosphere all right. Con: No place to recycle your plastic bowls!

It was bound to happen, and here it is, my first one star review. They call this place«No Plates», but to that I’d also add, No Service, No Product Knowledge, No Flavor, No Care, No Interest In Customers, and No Chance In Hell It Stays In Business. The smoothie was warm, underripe, bitter; frankly, disgusting. And thats, No Joke. Add to that the complete disregard of effort from staff to do anything to please customers, and you really just have No Clue, why they bother doing business. It saddens me that places like this exist; seriously, why bother. No Desire. No Love. No Pride. No Do Not Eat Here. No Do Not Drink Here. No Stay Far Far Away. –SZ.

Love this hidden overlooked deli-style joint right at the start of the South Side of Williamsburg. It is nothing fancy and that is why I like it so much. They have yummy pre-made sushi and a terrific salad bar where you can stuff yourself with an awesome variety of toppings. I come here every Monday and only pay $ 8.70 for a large salad with 8 super fresh ingredients(same price for meat and veggie options). The employees at No Plates are very sweet. A bit shy, but they always take good care of me and they are hard-working. I appreciate them and look forward to my healthy lunch each week!

First off this place is by no means a «gastropub» more of a deli. And a wonderful little deli it is! Not really sure why there isn’t more love for this place considering their fantastic prices and generous portions. The make your own salad bar includes 6 toppings of your choice(including meats and cheeses) for $ 6.70. Delicious and quick. This place also serves sandwiches, sushi, and yolato among other snacks and drinks. But I come here for the salad.

I go here for the salad bar when I’m too lazy to cook and want something healthy. this place is good if youre local but it’s not something to go across town to check out.

Brooklyn is a place full of hidden gems. This place offers a great variety of sushi, soup, wraps, ice cream and frozen yogurt at a decent price. The staff is nice, and they’re also very fast. i hate it when I have to wait, also, it’s a place that has 75 cents bagels! That’s just beautiful.

They give you dead greens, and almost everything topping wise comes from a can. Aren’t good salads supposed to be as fresh as possible?

What the heck is Yolato? Why it’s a delicious tart froyo! I am really making myself a bit sick with all these words that do not actually exist. The name of this place is odd. And judging from the past reviews, I guess it was once something different from what it is now, a basic deli with some seating(and yay for free wifi). Service was really… listless. Look, I don’t expect giant smiles and shouts of «welcome!» but if I’m standing at the counter, and I’m the only person in the place, a little bit of attentiveness would be nice. No big deal, I got served and after I placed my order for a large froyo with berries, I was warned in the most passive way possible that it’d be «really big.» Fine, make me feel like a glutton, lady, I already saw the container. I was compelled to tell her I hadn’t eaten all day. Oh, me and my neurosis. I can laugh at it now and you can laugh with or without me, that’s fine. Shockingly, the caring lady who didn’t seem to care at all was right. The shockingly cheap size large was ginormous(damn me with these fake words again) and I guess she sized me up correctly, b/c I couldn’t finish it. Damn her!

There were 0 people in the place and for good reason. Most unappetizing food and smoothie experience ever.

Either I don’t know what a gastropub is or this place is no longer a gastropub. This place is like a small version of a midtown sandwich/salad place(as another reviewer pointed out). The salads are ok and I’ll probably come back here to get them during lunch as I actually don’t know any other places that really do this in South Side Williamsburg(but when I find another place, I’ll probably go there). I didn’t get sick from them — although I don’t get meat on my salads. However, the iced coffee I got was the nastiest thing I’ve ever tasted. My mouth still tastes like I ate a bar of aluminium 30 minutes after taking 3 sips and tossing it in a public nyc garbage can.

What is the point of No Plates? Seriously. We needed the smaller Khims across from the bigger Khims, and they took it away from us. All for the ultra-irrelevant ‘No Plates.’

What happened to this place? It went from an upscale restaurant to a place that sells salads and smoothies.

Not worth your time considering all the other great options on Bedford. I admit I had a good feeling about this place when I walked in. The fruit looks fresh, they have a nice variety and they use mostly organic products. HOWEVER, the prices are outrageous! Smoothies are almost $ 7 for a relatively small size in comparison to many other shops and juice bars. I was craving a smoothie though, so I caved and shelled out the cash. When I got the drink, there is WAY more milk than fruit and it was room temperature and bland. It was actually more of a blended cup of milk with some bits of blueberries. When I took it back to the counter to let the guy know that it wasn’t his best work, he started getting mad saying that he did put fruit in it. This place opened in January(see Susan L. review). I went in mid-May. After 5 months they are STILL getting their act together! Sorry, Susan L., it obvious from your review that you are one of the owners, employees, or at least a friend of either. I hope this review falls onto some attentive eyes, because this places needs better food, better prices, and better customer service if it wants to expect any repeat customers.

If you’re in Williamsburg, do not miss this delectable new gastropub that opened a week ago! The food is absolutely amazing; everything you taste from the chicken wings to the pork duo sandwich to the country fried chicken has a sophisticated taste that you will undoubtedly love and will make you yearn for more! The restaurant believes in high quality, all natural ingredients — serving beef from«Pat La Frieda», chicken from«Bell & Evans», seafood from«Wild Edibles», and seasonal, locally sourced organic produce. No Plates touts itself as a simple restaurant that serves«bar food» w/classical French and Asian techniques. If this is bar food — then the nearby restaurants are going to have their draw drop and their cash register empty simply because this place is JUSTTHATGOOD and AFFORDABLE! So, lets get to the heart of this review: FOOD. As you can tell, I’m a BIGFAN of this place. Here are the food items that my six friends and I ordered(yes, we were a bit indulgent!) Fried Calamari w/Wasabi Mayo and Popcorn Shrimp w/Spicy Mayo($ 7, $ 9, respectively) — both extremely tasty and you can’t go wrong with these appetizers. Classic Cobb Salad($ 13) — produce is extremely fresh, so much so, that you do not even need to use the blue cheese dressing(definitely put it on the side) — the crunchiness from the romaine lettuce and bacon combined w/a thinly sliced hard-boiled egg w/chunks of avocado are amazing! Chicken Wings($ 8 for six, $ 15 for twelve) — if you do not order this dish, you will be regretting it! The Super Spicy Thai wings are deep-fried to perfection and are bursting with intense flavors. If you can’t eat spicy, then I’d recommend ordering the Honey BBQ wings — which were equally as good, w/o the spicy kick! Pork Duo($ 14) — Tender braised pulled pork and pork belly w/pickled daikon, greens and spicy mayo served with extremely crunchy fries. Can I say the meat was absolutely divine and mouth watering? Yum. The whole-grain/7 grain baguette could be a bit softer, but still — this dish was a huge hit at our table! Country Fried Chicken($ 15) — meat brined and marinated for one day, served w/mashed potatoes and gravy — D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S and S-U-C-C-U-L-E-N-T. Chicken was crunchy and juicy… and couldn’t get enough of the mashed potatoes! Full yet? Oh, yeah, there is still more to come — yes, you’ll get your dose of food coma here! Hangar Steak($ 17) — garlic herb marinated and char-grilled beef served w/glazed carrots and those delicious french fries that I love! Steak was juicy and flavorful. Three Cheese Lasagna($ 13) — mozzarella, fontina, parmesan and fresh basil served with garlic toast. This dish takes 20 minutes to prepare, so order this when you sit down! Why? Its incredible. Usually lasagnas have this tangy or too sweet taste, but this lasagna — which I’m not surprised since everything else on this menu is absolutely fantastic — had once again, the perfect balance between sweet and sour. Lets just say, after we finished all our foods, we just had to have another bite of this dish… and then another and another… and finally… DESSERT — Order the chocolate cake topped with the chef’s ‘specially’ prepared vanilla whipped cream. You would think we couldn’t put another spoonful of anything into our mouths/stomachs — but, we could and did — This was an extremely decadent dessert. If you eat here, besides having one of the largest smiles on your face, expect to have your belly double in size. Yes, wear your spandex pants that you’ve been hiding in the back of your closet(jk). DRINKS. BYOB for now. No Plates is still waiting for its liquor license, PRICE. You seen it above. In NYC standards, its affordable and comparable to other food establishments. SPACE. Can accommodate parties of 6 or more, probably would say 10 max since you want other patrons to eat here too. There is a bar seating area as well. EXECUTIVECHEF. Hooni Kim, who previously worked at Daniel and Masa, is a culinary genius! Akin to how people pair wine with food, Hooni Kim has by a stroke of ingenuity paired his food with beer! Ask him his thoughts on salt, citrus and other seasonings and you’ll hear how«in love» and how much«joy» he receives from cooking — its enough to make you want to become his apprentice, or sous chef! Expect to see his own restaurant opening sometime later this year/or next year! so we hope his sous chefs learn how to cook as well as he does! SERVICE. Good. Jeff is the general manager and moonlighting as a waiter at the moment. One of our food items was a bit undercooked and they replaced it w/o any hesitation and gave us a free entrée to try! NEGATIVES. With all this good, there has to be some negatives — though this is painstaking for me to say this — its a bit chilly in here, so bring your jackets. The gastropub is housed in an old building, which surprisingly, didn’t have a functioning heater! BRRR. Happy Eating!
