Super big and delicious beef burger with sautéed onions and mushrooms and salad and Cajun fries — perfect flavor not too salty. Loved it!

I went to Prime Grill the other week for a steak. What an upset. the steak was horrible, uncooked, and extremely overpriced. I don’t usually write reviews but I was truly amazed at the service, display, and taste of the food at Café Classico. Extremely well-priced, great portion sizes, absolutely delicious food. My friend ordered a pastrami sandwich, and was very pleased as well. FOODISFRESHANDDELICIOUS. CANTGOWRONGCOMINGTOCAFECLASSICO.

Beware the Washbasin Of Doom! I went upstairs from The Great American Health Bar because they were packed with Israel Day parade goers. I and my kids ordered sushi lunch combos, and while we waited I headed towards the back to see if I could wash my hands. If you hang left when you hit the kitchen area you go thru a short dark-walled hallway with a hand-washing sink visible at the end. Less visible is the single step up onto the tiled platform holding the sink and the bathroom(single seater) entrance. Worse yet, the riser for the step is made of the same pink tile as the floor of the pedestal, making it possible to miss the step entirely and crack your face falling forward onto the sink. Some black and yellow warning tape on the riser edge would help here. The sushi lunch combo came with miso soup, a pleasant surprise. My kids told me the sushi and the soup were very good.(I’m not a fan of sushi. I just wanted to stay pareve.) Presentation was both fancy and shmancy. Service was fine, considering the parade rush, and the price($ 16 a head plus tip) was appropriate to the location, on W 57 St.

Very good kosher place in Midtown near my office. Went with two Jewish buddies last week and had a nice meal, if not a little expensive. I had the matzo ball soup and a crunchy chicken salad in a taco bowl. Very filling and a huge order on both. The soup had two big matzo balls and the usual broth. Great, no complains. My warm chicken salad in the taco bowl was better than I thought. Again, big portion and the salad was dressed correctly and the chicken crunchy with a light batter in a big crumbly taco bowl. Plenty of corn and other veg in there, so I felt I was eating healthy. Had a Dr Browns cream soda, of course, with my meal. We know the waiter from past visits, and he always gives us a plate of hummus and bread free to start. Not a huge hummus fan, but fine, as you’d expect with small bread wedges to dip and scoop. Stop in my kosher friends for a good meal. The Rabbi is on the premises and everything is butchered as it should be. They even have sushi.

I ordered a lunch for our company. It arrived late, incomplete and without any utensils. Foolishly and because I needed a kosher meal I asked that the complete order(the one I’d given the person on the phone the day before…) be rushed over as the our lunch guests were here…). To the order-taker«rush» meant put the rest of the order with the delivery guy on a BUS(we’re 12 blocks away). Why would they do that when the first, incomplete order came by cab? When I complained to the manager he said I should have specified I wanted a cab as «my girl doesn’t read minds.» They said they could have the rest of our order here in 30 mins. I said it would be useless to us if it was here any later than that. It took about 75 mins, maybe more. We never signed for the rest of the order(our guests were finished eating the first batch of what came — reported to be mediocre — and on their way out by the time the rest arrived). But there it was on our credit card statement, a 2nd unauthorized charge. The manager insists he has an authorization to charge us for food that wasn’t delivered(he does not). Perhaps the rudest service ever encountered.

The food here was very tasty. The sushi roll was excellent. I had the chicken marsala with wild rice, and veggies. Cooked perfectly. However, the waiter was terrible.. He does not know how to speak properly when serving. We asked for ketchup and water, and his demeanor was unpleasant, like we were bothering him,

Decent food. Very noisy. Bathrooms not clean, which has me worried about the kitchen. Had the salmon roll to start. Average. For my entrée I had the falaffel and hummus plate. This was very good. I will stay away from the sushi bar in the future and stick with the salads and sandwiches, which all looked very good.

This review pertains to ordering for delivery: I agree with many of the reviews here regarding service. Glad to see I am not the only one who found it problematic. The delivery person had an issue getting into our building, which has never happened before because the building has a delivery center dedicated to this purpose. But instead of attempting to assist or help make things right, the manager blamed it on the building, the rain, the fact that we were in meetings(which is the whole point of ordering in), and on anything else he could think of. The kicker: he then let me know that in no uncertain terms was he going to either refund or resend the food, «as a matter of pride.» It is yet unclear why stealing money or holding grudges is prideful. People with healthy pride can accept mistakes and try to better themselves. But alas, it appears the customer is always wrong. Maybe this is why the restaurant and it’s food is also slipping. Too much pride? I should point out that(since I don’t enjoy bashing people) a negative review is only getting on Unilocal because this is the second time the manager has acted this way on the phone. The previous time was when it took 2 hours for food to arrive at at all, and our entire party had left the building already. He refused a refund or any help then, too. So the two stars are awarded because the food is pretty ok for Kosher,(but used to be much better.) And I usually need to have extra patience, but do not have a major problem with their delivery. They lost the other three stars because delivery is so undependable and the manager is super rude.

The only get 2 stars because their sandwiches are good. Otherwise, the worst and I mean the WORST service ever. I have never experienced such rudeness in my life. My friends and I came here for lunch. We were a group of 4. First of all the waitress looked like she’s doing us a huge favor by serving us… Secondly, food took forever to come. As our food finally arrived and we’re eating and talking and our plates are not even half empty, the waitress comes with a check and asks us if we’re done!!! I understand that it’s lunch time and the place was pretty filled up, though there were no people standing and waiting to be seated, but, I am sorry that is not the way to treat customers, especially if they are still eating and plates are half full. Not to mention that my friend had something flowing in her wine glass. When she called the waitress and showed it to her and asked for a replacement, the waitress took her glass and brought a new one a minute later, which she slammed on the table, turned around and left. No apology whatsoever. Later on we asked for desert and they only had one type of cake available. The tea cups had residue on the inside, seriously a little baking soda on a sponge and that should do it, don’t they wash their cups? When we finally asked for our check, because we just couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to get out of there, she brought the check and had the nerve to include $ 15CASH tips for herself on the receipt which she circled. SERIOUSLY?! Ohh and they don’t accept Credit Cards either!

We live across the street from café classico, and as a result of its proximity we tend to order from there frequently, but have been noticing a gradual decline in the quality of the food. Tonight we ordered(to go) two chicken Caesar salads. I thought it was odd when I opened the bag and the salads looked half full, but when I opened it up I realized why. All the lettuce was brown, wilted, and soggy, in both salads. I called to complain and was met with hostility. I was told that it was my fault and the manager didn’t know how far I took the salads to get home(across the street) or if I had heated up the salads in the oven to make them wilted(hmmm…). After saying I just wanted my money back for the salads and could bring the salads back easily, I was told he could not and would not give me my money back. He continued to argue with me and I eventually gave up. Avoid this place unless you want rotten salad and a terrible attitude.

Regarding delivery only. We order here occasionally for work since one of my co-workers eats Kosher. It’s kind of just an easy place to order from for a large group of people. They have everything. I have tried their chicken entrees and I did not like it at all. I think it was pretty dry. My co-workers like their sandwiches… but I’m not much of a sandwich-for-dinner person so I just order sushi here. It’s really not so bad… I usually play it safe and order the spicy tuna roll, oshinko and avocado roll, salmon sashimi, or the salmon and avocado roll. It’s not the freshest sushi I’ve ever had but it satisfies my sushi cravings. The most annoying thing is that they have inari on their menu(which I LOVE and was soo excited when I saw it) but it is never available. I ordered this item once through seamless. Instead of calling you to inform you that it is not available, they give you the next cheapest option… egg sushi. I hate egg sushi. I tried ordering it again a few more times, and it was always«sold out» or something. So, we asked once and learned that inari just sits on their menu but they never have it. Additionally, the service here can be pretty bad and they can be really slow with the delivery sometimes. They also used to be prone to messing up our orders… they haven’t been so bad lately. Also, we ordered food here on a holiday once on Seamless, but apparently they were not available and the website said they were. OH! they have good hummus and picked veggies! A lot of technical problems with them, but we still continue to order here.

I come to Classico for lunch and also order sandwiches for delivery. I really like the food here — the sandwiches, matzh-ball soup, middle-eastern platter, and sushi. The biggest problem though is that the service is unapologetically SLOW! And if you order sushi, they try to talk you out of it saying it will take a ½ hour. It makes no sense — I go to non-kosher sushi restaurants all the time and they don’t seem to have that trouble. I understand if its one time, but every time? If they could fix the service issues and sushi delays I would give this place 4 stars. Delivery is good if you order early enough… Also, they only accept credit cards sometimes — what’s up with that?

Somehow, I never had an issue with Café Classico, whether eating in, picking up or ordering delivery. Their lunch combo is a very good deal, lots of delicious food. You need to know what to order. Obviously, sushi is not going to be the greatest, this is just their attempt to diversify, so stick to the basics. Their sandwiches and wraps are pretty good, the Cajun fries are amazing, the service could be a little spotty, but take it with a grain of salt.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. The food was overpriced for the quality, and my friends and I were completely appalled by the lack of common courtesy on behalf of the staff. We went there earlier today for dinner. Two of my friends ordered Double Decker sandwiches(one ordered with a soup), I ordered a grilled chicken and mushroom sandwich with a plate of Cajon fries for the table and another girlfriend ordered soup and sushi. While our server was accommodating, he was not exceptional. At the end of the meal we split the bill according to what each of us ordered, which came out to $ 73.47(including tax) and we were going to give $ 85(that includes tip). When we received the check it stated«no credit cards», which surprised us since it did not say«no credit cards» anywhere on the menu that we observed while ordering. Me and one girlfriend were paying by cash(she ordered the Double Decker sandwich). The other two girls were paying by card. The waiter stated it would not be a problem. We went to the cashier/(who may have been a manager or something as well) who made a huge ordeal and stated they could only pay by credit if we had separate checks. He called over the server who then arbitrarily assigned checks that did not match the correct billed amounts for each individual. When my friend POLITILEY pointed out that other restaurants do accept split credit cards/money and that in the event a restaurant does split the bill into separate checks per person, generally the charges match what each person ordered. He started criticizing us stating this is the easier way and that he was correct and we were wrong. Then tried to belittle us saying«Are you girls in school, you should take a math class.» We told him that in fact, we were in graduate school and that instead he should take a class on management and etiquette. He stated he already had and tried to continue to verbally attack us. In the end, the tip went from almost $ 12.00 to $ 2.00. We also told him to expect poor reviews online, however he told us he did not care. I will be posting it everywhere, however so far I have not read one positive review. I should have checked the reviews out for this place earlier because I would have never dined here.

My office, where many keep Kosher, sometimes orders in from Classico when we have meetings. The food was decent so when a colleague came in from out-of-town I figured it’d be a good place to go out for lunch. What a mistake. In short: I will never go back nor order from this restaurant for any reason. I will never suggest any person to ever go here for any reason. We got there in the middle of the lunch hour, but they took forever to take our order even though the restaurant was empty. They also placed us next to the window where there was a huge draft. My colleagues all ordered the«sushi lunch,» but the waiter was completely glib about what it contained. There was a picture next to the item that showed a set of sushi rolls and my colleagues assumed that the sushi planner contained it. When they brought the food, my colleagues were confused because they got a set of individual sushi pieces and not rolls, and the waiter assured them that this would not be the case. They asked if the waiter could do anything about it — either take it back, or order something new — and the waiters started arguing about it in front of us. They eventually said that they would talk to the manager; ten minutes later they came back and said nothing could be done. My colleague went over the manager and started complaining, the only response he got was that the restaurant would lose money and it’s not their fault that they ordered the wrong thing — even though the waiter had no idea what he was talking about and in fact told us that we would not receive what we ended up getting. In the end we just ate the food they gave us, but in the end they tacked an automatic tip onto our bill even though we were only a party of 3. Were we 8 people, I would understand, but it is generally understood that if you have a small party it is up to you to determine the tip. Overall a horrific experience, a waste of time, and a waste of money.

I would give this place 4 stars, but the service was so bad, I moved it down to 3. The place was NOT crowded when I was there, but they took 15 minutes to seat us(a party of 4), and another 15 to get us menus and take our orders. The food was pretty good — I got the turkey burger — and the other 3 people in my party thoroughly enjoyed their food as well. The interior is a little small, and the place could use a little revamping when it comes to décor/ambiance, but all-in-all, if you’re dining Kosher, then you’ll like Café Classico.

Nice atmosphere, complete with candlelight, great menu with nicer deli to upscale burgers to fancy chicken dishes, and pasta. Big portions and genuinely friendly service push Café Classico over the edge. It’s supposed to be Italian, but only the pasta and chicken are presented as such. They have pareve(non-dairy) milkshakes which taste somewhat yogurty, but are still a cool/rare find at kosher meat places. It’s the closest us kosherinos can come to a burger and a shake. I haven’t ordered take-out from them, but I’ve been told by friends they deliver very quickly — they’re on SeamlessWeb. The meal runs approximately $ 20 a person, which is pretty good for how upscale it is. It’s a good place for a date, so you’ll see lots of couples paired up and enjoying their dinners.
