Just found this place when looking for a bathroom but it’s a nice discovery! I got a Crabbie’s ginger beer(not a fan of regular beer or wine) — $ 7. The bartender is very friendly and the place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Decent prices too. It almost feels like it should be in Brooklyn. One of the other patrons challenged my boyfriend to an impromptu game of chess which was cool, haha. They have some playing cards and dominoes, as well if you want to play some games while you drink. I didn’t try the food but would like to come back here sometime!

The fish and chips were good and the atmosphere was nice, but the waitress forgot to bring our lemonades. Would not recommend the grilled Gouda pita if you don’t like stinky cheese. The waitress was otherwise great with the water refills.

This is a good spot. Not great but good. They do a decent happy hour and the food is good but the menu is pretty limited. It’s never been very crowded the few times I’ve been here because it is somewhat off the beaten path which can certainly be a nice change of pace. I don’t have anything negative to say but there’s also nothing sticks out the makes this place special. It’s a decent spot if you’re trying to grab a low key drink and a quick bite

Ordered through seamless. Lamb burger lacked seasoning, disappointing — won’t be ordering that again. Fish and chips were good. I could take it or leave it, I guess.

Came in on a rainy night. Small crowd, great ambiance. I tried the wheat beer on draft, I’m not a sweets girl and the beer was a bit too sweet for my taste. It can definitely be great for someone who likes sweet beer. We got the scotch egg and kale salad. Scotch egg is on the pricier side($ 4 for 1 egg), kale salad was good($ 9, salad has walnuts) I definitely recommend it. Since we were the only person that ordered food, food came out as fast as fried rice comes out of a Chinese restaurant. This place is great for first date– the eharmony kind, not the tinder kind. Tinder dates should opt for Bar 169 down the block. Lol.

Love love love this brunch spot. It’s hidden in a less developed area between chinatown and lower east side. there’s no official name on top except for a fish logo on a wooden sign. the menu is short but interesting! It consists of typical American brunch items with a twist of Israeli. Salt was held in a seashell! So pretty haha I loved the vibe. It was cozy but fancy. Very intimate and relaxed. Good for close friends and families. We ordered the huevos platanos(glorified nacho chips with black beans and guac but so so good), falafel in a pita, and wheat ale. All very delicious and filling :) I hadn’t had wheat ale until then and it smells like lychee but tastes pretty bitter like most beers haha

Appart from the oil smell from fried. well… fried«everything», this place is cute, sober, simple and very efficient. It’s friendly, fast served. Don’t expect a very romantic place, you’ll be disappointed. But still, there’s a nice neighborhoody vibe. + The fries are good. ++ The fish & chips is super fresh and full of tasty ingredients. + The avocado toast is tasty. Beware, the bread is thick ! It’s a true dish ! Overall it’s a good adress, but not a place I would die for or absolutely bring everyone there. It’s perfect to feed yourself in a chill place with safe very correct food, and meet with a friend(or friends, there’s a community table) between two activities when you crave for Fish& chips.

Eastwood has a casual, half-bar/half-restaurant vibe to it that’s inviting, cozy, and friendly. Don’t come here expecting a dive bar. Instead, come for good beer, wine, and some limited but well done food options. The first time I came here late at night to catch up with friends over beers. Eastwood is a great environment for this. It’s not a loud bar where you won’t be able to hear any conversation, but it’s also not empty or dingy. Prices are reasonable at about $ 7 for a tall glass of beer. The second time I came here was around lunch for a small bite. The place was a perfect break from the outside heat with its large open windows and natural light. They were still offering their brunch menu, which features items like French toast and an Israeli breakfast. We chose to get the Israeli scotch eggs, grilled cheese pita, and fish tacos. ISRAELISCOTCHEGGS($ 4): These are unlike any Scotch eggs I’ve had before, but I surprisingly enjoyed them. For one, they’re a good vegetarian version of the dish. Instead of being encased in fried ground meat, these eggs are surrounded by crispy fried falafel filling. The eggs are hard-boiled rather than soft-boiled, but that seems to work better with the falafel casing. A side of tahini comes with the eggs, providing a creamy dipping sauce. GRILLEDCHEESEPITA($ 6): SO. Good. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a ton of cheese stuffed inside pita bread and grilled til it’s ooey gooey perfection. My suggestion is to get it with regular white pita instead of the wheat one. The cheese is Gruyère so it’s a bit stinky, but it makes for an amazing and simple grilled cheese. FISHTACOS($ 12 for 2 tacos, orange juice or mimosa included): I didn’t try any of these, but they looked great! They come as giant, battered pieces of fish inside tortillas served with guacamole, lime, cilantro, onions, cabbage slaw, and a light creamy sauce. Overall: I kind of wish they offered more drink selections, perhaps a couple cocktails, but they may be working on their alcohol license. For now, the food is tasty, the service is friendly, and it’s a great neighborhood place to hang out.

Casual but trendy. Order at the counter or bar and take a seat. Great staff and delicious avocado toast as well as kale salad!

This is really just for the falafel sandwich. Read a review and decided to try when I was nearby. It’s very very good. Take out and sit down sections.

I have visited Eastwood on more than one occasion, the other three times I visited I had pleasant experiences. But because of today’s horrible experience, this has to be my last unless the owner or manager does a better job of overseeing how fresh the ingredients are and especially gets rid of the lazy and RUDE cooks that were there at lunchtime today. I went in for the falafel sandwich that ‘comes’ with fries, I asked for added avocado. The lazy cook, cut up half an avocado and put in a separate box from the falafel, then proceeds to put cold fries that were laying in a bowl on the counter onto the sandwich. He wraps it up and puts in a brown paper bag. I unwrap the sandwich, take a look and ask where are the rest of the fries.(There were 5 fries.) He rudely tells me ‘that’s it, no more’. I ask to see the guy who took my order/payment, he comes back tells the ‘cook’ something, who then gets the remainder of the fries sitting in a bowl pours them into a box, and hands it to the guy to put in my bag. I look in the bag, I noted that there were no utensils, no ketchup, I had to ask for it. Fries were not fresh. Worst part was yet to come: When I get back to my office to have my lunch, I unwrap open it up and see that the falafel was hard, cold, I got one slice of tomato(the butt of the tomato)(my pet peeve) and very little cabbage. How much energy would it have taken to put the avocado in to the sandwich for the customer? I paid 13 dollars for this, and I have to say that I am thoroughly disgusted. I walked about 5 blocks to Eastwood since I work in the neighborhood and did not have the energy of wasting more of my time with this place. Instead I decided to write the review. I hope the powers that be can read my review and do something. I went there at about 1:15pm today.(Friday) I always like to support my local small business owner, but this was not acceptable. Disappointed.

First of all, it is extremely hard to find the entrance but once you’re inside you’re in for a treat. The entrance is on the side on Clinton Street so don’t be like me and walk around the restaurant twice before figuring out where the door is(and there are windows all around so everyone inside can see you as you struggle to figure out how to get inside). The interior really simple and quaint. It’s really chill and minimal. If you come for lunch, the menu is limited but they have really yummy options. My boyfriend ordered the falafel sandwich which he loved. The falafel was very fresh and crunchy and it was a flatter cake shape rather than round like it usually is. I had the fish and chips and it came with 2 pieces of fish. The fish was crispy and I normally hate tartar sauce but this sauce was pretty okay. Both dishes came with fries that were seasoned really well, though they could have been crunchier. And all this great food came out to just $ 20! Good service too. I would definitely love to come back and try their other dishes.

Beer and wine only. Great draught selection. Awesome food too. We got the falafel sandwich(very messy with fries spilling out), the schnitzel plate(deliciously cooked with an Israeli salad and fries) and the mixed plate(labne, humus, Israeli salad with pita — kind of a rip off for how little you get). Very casual space. Will be returning.

Went there for a beer and some of their fish and chips. Service was great, drinks and the internal fit-out were really nice too. The food — meh. The fish and chips was basically 70% chips and two really small pieces of battered fish. It was quite disappointing to be blunt. Don’t think I’ll be going back for the food :(

Love the little café~ I really like how the corner restaurant has transparent glass windows/wall. natural sunlight is the best way to go and it conserves energy! lol we came here for brunch and i went for a healthier option: the kale salad and i added the scotch eggs on the side. really enjoyed it! decent portion size and tasted very refreshing on a summer day. i tried my first scotch egg there and i liked it! now if the egg yolk is slightly runny, that would really do it for me haha my bf got the fish tacos. yuuuummm perfectly crispy fried fish. the sauce that was drizzled on top went great with the tacos! it might only be 2 per order but they sure are filling! would def return for some fish tacos! i really like the vibe at eastwood. it’s almost like a picnic indoor kinda feel lol looking forward to trying other stuff on the menu!

Came here alone because I was trying to see if I can catch a friend, but didn’t work out. It was 6pm and the bar was full of returning customers since the bar tender calls them by first name. I was a little confused since you order food at the little window but it wasn’t clear until the bar tender came out and told me. I got the fish and chips, which was really good. I had the fries to go and asked them for the box, which I put the fries in myself. Very self service place, which I don’t mind, but I wish it was clear that it is for someone who has never been there. Food is good. Vibe is good. I would go back now that I know this is how it works.

Another night, another superb stop over at Eastwood. Black lager beer? Check Ommegang Valar Morghulis? Check And what to top it off? The Velvet Underground & Nico playing on Vinyl. Yeah, it was that kinda night. Good times!

Great happy hour, great spot for the neighborhood. Definitely going to eat a lot of fried fish dinners there. Despite being new, you get a good down home dinner feel here.
