I would never, ever eat here. This is a financial district eatery whose owner has publicly called for the mayor to shut down Occupy Wall Street. «A lot of tourists coming down from hotels are so disgusted and disappointed when they see this,» said Stacey Tzortzatos, manager of a sandwich shop near Zuccotti Park. «I hope for the sake of the city the mayor does close this down.» She is against the right of the people to peacefully assemble to protest injustices stemming from the corrupting effect of money in politics. She doesn’t care about the plight of the little people. She just wants to sell her sandwiches to tourists. Way to think globally, Stacey.

This place used to be absolutely amazing for the price. The breakfast was inexpensive and the service was great. At some point I think the management changed and the food became very mediocre and the service quality plunged. This place is now out of business.

As a long-suffering resident of Greenwich Street, I am still celebrating our victory over the Remy Lounge(bye-bye, fuckers!) and never expected to actually like any of the business establishments on our forlorn little street. However, Freddo Café has really impressed me with it’s exceptional salad bar. I got a spinach salad with grilled zucchini, portabello mushroom, snap peas, grilled chicken, and roasted red pepper. They have tons of other vegetables and nine kinds of cheese, as well as unusual toppings like golden raisins, walnuts and sunflower seeds. Comes with free soup! In my wide-ranging experience of salad bars, this is top notch. Lacking in atmosphere, but hey, we’re on Greenwich Street…

As a resident of the financial district I want nothing more then to see our places(restaurants) succeed. I try as many of these places bc the pulse will dictate the future and needs of the area. Freddo café was average and got the job done. I am rating it a 1 bc I found a hair in my salad. Otherwise it would have earned a 2 – 3 from me.

I love the pasta bar. The owners are always on top of things. They don’t like orders getting misplaced or seeing people waiting very long. Also this summer their daughter worked here. She was like 8 or 9 years old. Very cute. And that is cool thing to do. Fresh salads. Burgers just the way I like them especially when I have that certain«I am stressed out and need to eat emotionally» craving. Breakfast is pretty good too. Try the french toast and do not count calories. Join a friggin’ gym. They have Italian cookies. There is fresh squeezed O.J. They have Italian cookies. The flat bread sandwiches are yummy. Oh and did I mention they have Italian cookies? And you may get hit on by sweaty construction workers.

I hesitate to call Freddo a deli — it’s more of a restaurant where your food is ready to eat. I come for the delicious hot specials, stuffed roast pork, roast chicken, flank steak, fish(comes with potatos and veggie or double veggie). For $ 10 I have a meal that works for lunch and a light dinner — maybe only applies to girls — and is scrumptious. This place is new and I hope it stays as clean and yummy as it is today! Would have one more star if the place had a slightly cooler«hang out» kind of vibe. As it is I’ve lingered here and never felt rushed. But it’s no west village lunch spot in terms of chill out factor.
