Been to both the Tokyo and Kyoto Go Go Curry. Tastes, smells, looks and feels the same as if from Japan itself. Cheap, simple, effective and great! Highly rated for a cheap street eat.

This place is pretty great. I ordered the triple/XL katsu curry to share between two people thinking it would be about the same as two«walk» sizes for cheaper. Actually it was just one katsu(pork cutlet) on a pretty big plate of rice and curry. However, although I had thought we’d have more cutlet, it was good and it was enough. I’ll definitely be going back when I’m in the mood for Japanese curry again. :)

You go, Go! Go! Curry! With their unapologetic obsession with the number 5(«go» in Japanese!), GGC offers delicious, cheap curry to the masses. May 5th was their Go! Go! Day(5⁄5) so they offered Walk size Pork or Chicken katsu curries for only $ 5. On any other day, its like $ 7 which is still an amazing deal. Plus, they gave you 5 free topping coupons for your next purchase. They have a wide array of toppings, from cheese, rakkyo(pickled Japanese shallots), sausage, and hard boiled eggs. I think this is one of the best deals in the city– cheap, delicious, fast, and super filling!

Good to have it at anytime. Not fancy but so delicious. Grand slam is even good to share with 2 people. Its kinda small place all over the city. But good to try to have it inside.

Tried Japanese curry for the first time from this spot. I have mixed feelings about what i ate. I had the single chicken curry for lunch. Lets just say that i feel like the spices were too strong for my taste. I like the spot though, really cool japanese style spot.

I ordered Katsu curry small. Wow. It’s a big small lol I even couldn’t finish it all but it’s good! Little too salty for me but Katsu was nice and crispy :) Staffs are yelling«Irrashaimase»(welcome in Japanese) and«arigato» all the time with broken Japanese which I found cute! I’m sure their manager train them well. Their service was great and so fast! Con: You have to pay extra for Fukuzinzuke Very small space Overall I enjoyed their curry! Oh and I really enjoyed their funny tv shows from Japan lol

Fiancée and I were out shopping for home goods and didn’t want to do it on an empty stomach. Enter Unilocal — and Go! Go! Curry! It was perfect, close, and Japanese curry: something that we’d been craving since moving out here. We were trying to cut down on spending too much on dinner too, cause buying home goods is $$$ and the one $ indicator for this place was extremely attractive. When we got in, we debated whether their smallest size, the«Walk,» would be big enough. We decided we’d go for it knowing that we could order more. Luckily, we didn’t have to cause the Walk size was just right for both of us! I wonder what the other sizes are like, cause I can eat a LOT and it filled me up. I added cheese on mine, which, I guess sounds weird to some people, but know that it makes it 10x better! My only complaint is that the pork katsu doesn’t seem very substantial; it breaks apart easily and it’s not as meaty as I’m used to. If you’re thinking it was undercooked, it wasn’t… I felt fine and dandy after so I guess it’s just not as good a cut or anything. Bottom line: If you’re tryna get some good value, and get the best bang for your money in this city… hit this place up!

It’s a small shop with 2 tables. We came in around 9:30 and we had to take it to go since they close at 10. My friends got the home run special and I just got the chicken katsu curry. I’m not really picky when it comes to Japanese curry, but I felt meh about Go Go’s. The chicken itself was really good and crispy. The curry was okay. It had a weird after taste. It tasted a bit tart, I’m not sure if that’s how it’s supposed to taste or maybe because we came at the end of the day and got the last batch? I think it would’ve been better if it had some spice to it. Most places I go to have spice levels. It could just be personal preference because one of my friends really loved the curry and ate all his and then some of mine as well.

This is really more of a 3.5 star for me. This is my first time at this location. I typically go to the Times Sq. location but I happened to be in the neighborhood and had a sudden hankering for crispy chicken katsu atop Japanese-style curry and rice. I am a big fan of Go Go Curry and I love their food. In that regard this location is pretty consistent with the quality and taste that I have come to expect. However, the issue I had here was the service. While it wouldn’t classify as curt, it did fall short of the level of friendliness that I have experienced at the other location. It was also assumed that I wanted my order to-go even though I had expressed no intention of eating that food anywhere else but inside the very small dining area they offer. I was surprised when I received my order inside a yellow plastic bag and Styrofoam container with a plastic fork, instead of in a metal dish, on a tray, and with a proper metal fork. Despite my disappointment I proceeded to unwrap my food and enjoy it on the spot. To be honest there really isn’t a lot of space to sit and eat in there anyway. There is probably enough room for 5 – 6 people max. All in all, the food is consistent. However, the service could improve. I’ll probably just stick with the Times Sq. location from now on.

After years of seeing Go! Go! Curry! all over Manhattan, I recently gave it a shot, and I have to say, I was pretty impressed for the price. It’s easily more of a quantity over quality situation, but sometimes you need something filling and fried for something such as, oh, I don’t know, hangover recovery. Woof. The website refers this location as «Chelsea Stadium», which is laughable given the size of the location, which is an incredibly small, sort of divey shop. Every day of the month that ends with 5(5th, 15th, 25th), you can get a coupon for a free topping, which can only be used on your next visit, not the current visit. Not a bad deal, but I can only eat this stuff every once in a while anyway, so a coupon for a future visit is only so useful. I went with the Grand Slam, which included 2 sausages, 1 pork katsu, 1 chicken katsu, 1 shrimp tempura, a bed of rice, and a whole mess of curry. Not a vegetable in sight, haha. For $ 12.50, an incredible price, given all the food that you get. It’s not the most quality meat, but at these prices, I can’t complain too much. The katsus were both fried quite nicely and not too greasy, and there was an ample amount of curry to pair with the rice. The shrimp tempura was pretty nicely fried too, and a pretty huge portion. The sausages weren’t the best, but with the curry, the flavors were fine. The service behind the counter was pretty quick, although they were sort of confused at me only needing 1 set of forks/spoons. The fatassery is real. Yet, I actually wasn’t able to finish it, so next time, I will likely go for the Home Run curry, which is $ 9.50, but just about the same size minus 1 katsu and 1 sausage. Come here for the value play, and if you want a lot of fried stuff.

I am not a fan of Japanese curry, but my friend wanted to try this place, so we did. I chose the shrimp option and it came with two pieces. To their credit, the food looked exactly as pictured. I didn’t finish my food because I just didn’t like it. But, like I said, I don’t like Japanese curry. The girl behind the counter was really nice.

I have been hearing about this place for the longest and I finally got around to trying it today. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry(single /$ 7.50). I instantly became a fan! Crispy and tender chicken with a good amount of warm, sticky rice and curry. My fiancé ordered the Home Run Pork Curry, which comes with 1 shrimp, sausage and a hard boiled egg. I was a little envious because I missed that one on the menu. I must come back and try everything!

The Katsu was flavorless with a chewy texture– terrible. But forgivable given the cost. What I cannot forgive is the complete LACKOFCURRY in my dish. It’s all rice. Seriously. Where did my curry Go-Go to??? This is a poor representation of Japanese style curry.

I have really mixed feelings about this place, and the three star rating reflects that. It would have been a 2 or a 4 really. It’s inexpensive, with good portions, and decent quality. I usually get the grand slam to share, at 12.50, that’s quite a deal in nyc. The katsu is nicely breaded, and it comes with a lot of rice, but I think they need to be less skimpy with the curry. This is a curry restaurant, but I feel like I could barely mix the curry in with the heaps of rice. There needs to be a better ratio. The service is nonexistent. All in all, you get what you pay for.

I am a fan of Go Go Curry, their menu isn’t too elaborate and a good alternative to halal type foods. So far, I’ve been to their branch on 19th St and the one by Washington Sq Park. I prefer the 19th St branch because it has more space and things look less squished together. My usual is the Grand Slam($ 12.50) which is extremely filling. Eating it is quite the process, but it gives you a bit of everything. Their cutlet is really nicely crispy and so is their tempura shrimp. I think their curry sauce serving is fair but not enough for extreme curry lovers who like to soak their meal in sauce. It’s also a tad saltier than other curries I’ve had. The slaw-like veggies only add crunch to the dish, but I like that — too many flavors in a dish this heavy could turn out poorly. I’m impartial to their sticky rice as it is a Japanese dish. Will be back in the near future.

Stopped in here tonight and got some delicious curry. Reminds me of CoCo Ichibana Curry House. Prices are great for the portion! They NEED Naan Bread to dip in the curry! This is a need a want and a necessity!

Very good service, and even better food served here. I like this place, it has become one of my favorite spots for lunch, the short distance is so convenient too. I suggest you always get take out during lunch rush hours, very hard to find a seat here. I only order 2 items on their menu — the Grand Slam or the Home Run, best choices in my opinion. The fried chicken or pork is prepared very light, not greasy at all. The Curry sauce over the white rice is the best part. This is a must try.

If you are seeking Japanese curry within a 2 block radius of this place, and you don’t want to walk further: This is your place. It’s reliable, fast, and cheap.

Decent curry of the katsu variety. It’s close to where I live so I’ll definitely go back when I’m in the mood. Wish their menu wasn’t quite so limited…
