Halal Tiger Cart

I decided to try this Gyros cart that that is close to my office. I’ve seen the staff dressed in their famous orange t-​shirts and there is always a nice crowd around. I tried the Gyros lamb sandwich and my friend had the Falafel over rice. I have to admit that it was very good and you can’t beat the price of the food. The food tasted fresh and was prepared hot for us. We ate our food just steps from the cart and watch the many folks stop by to order food. There was also a nice crowd of regular customers, which we saw interact with the staff. I suggest that New Yorkers give this cart a try and let their taste buds be the judge. P. S. The white and red sauce is great…

It’s so good at 3am. My friend says chicken and rice. I say ok thinking shitty Mexican… because I really haven’t had decent Mexican outside of socal. My friend is Indian, and knows all there is to know about Indian food in Manhattan. He gets into an argument with the Pakistani taxi driver about the best places. They start comparing notes on each place. It was great. It ended with the taxi driver saying something like «Look, I’m Zagat on wheels, you listen to me!» The driver says, if you like the 53^nd and 6^th cart, go to the 49^th and 6^th, it’s better. We try it. I’ve been back several times now. Maybe it’s better than 53^nd b/​c the line isn’t as long.
$ 5 for some late night chicken (or lamb) and rice. White and hot sauce is good too. Makes me happy inside. I like. So yeah, 49^th and 6^th, open till around 4am.
