J and M Cleaners

This is by far the best laundry spot in the area with free pick up and delivery! They never lose my things and it is done same day. Reasonably priced and friendly delivery guy, I’ve been using them for years.
I should point out that lately things have come back damp, socks not matched etc, but this is the exception. Maybe there is a new person training? Overall, I would highly recommend them.

VERY reliable! I go there consistently for everything, since the prices are ridiculously cheap for the area (seriously), and the turn around is 2 days. They’ve gotten pretty tough stains out and all my clothes look impeccable at delivery. I was expecting a lot of backlash when I asked for same-​day service when I was in a rush, and they didn’t even blink or charge me extra. The owner remembers me each time I come back and always is more than friendly.

Reliable wash-​and-​fold and dry cleaner in midtown west.
They have no problem turning around wash and fold same day, even when I’ve asked them to pick up as late as 11am, and it usually gets dropped off around 4−5pm.
Price is reasonable, usually around $ 15 – 25 for 2 – 3 weeks worth of laundry and comes perfectly folded so I just have to place it into drawers.

The prices are great compared to the other cleaners in the area. The laundry always comes back fresh and neatly folded. This place really deserve 5 stars just for their dry cleaning. They were able to remove every single stain on my $ 200.00 silk blouse that my previous cleaner couldn’t.

No stars for this place. They constantly lose stuff and then when you go and ask them about it they tell you to look at home. This time it was a fitted sheet. How does that go missing? It’s not a sock!!! I asked Yvonne to look in the back and she rolled her eyes at me. I reminded her that it was her job. She is the model of customer service and her boss May should be aware that the person at the front represents her customer service business poorly. My neighbor and I had a discussion too. We don’t think they get the laundry clean even though its done on premises. Well thanks for the free laundry. Off to call the bank to dispute the charge so I can buy a new fitted sheet.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! I brought in some shirts and pants to be dry cleaned and pressed and they all came back FILTHY. One pair of pants I brought in has twice as many stains! I literally think they waited till I left the shop, ironed my clothes, stuck them on a hanger and put some plastic wrap around them. I am outraged. Anyone who sees this review, consider yourself warned. Do not think «Oh, that One Star review is an outlier, I’ll give this place a try, it’s so close to my apartment/​office.» Look at all of the negative reviews this place has! Shame on me for not checkin this place out on Unilocal before using it. Walk the extra block or two and pick a cleaner that will actually CLEAN your clothes! Don’t waste your money here!

I’m done with them and would not recommend them. My sports jackets have repeatedly come back with the collars not properly folded and then they complain to me that they can’t do any better.
The last straw was the latest jacket I gave them came back with a broken button. Brought this back and they told me it’s not their problem as they don’t insure buttons. Thought I was the customer? They were not nice about it either.
Well, they don’t insure that I’m a customer anymore so I’m gone.
Although they used to be good and reliable, I would not recommend them now.

Friendly and reasonably priced. Plus they do the laundry on the premise so that’s golden. At other places that send out their laundry, shit always seems to go missing and comes back extraordinarily wrinkled. This place is always on time and folded/​packed nicely.
Their hours are tough though. Closed at 7pm and on Sundays so that’s a little annoying.
Overall though, I’m a fan!

I think this place is pretty good.
The price for the «Wash & Fold» service is fair and my laundry always comes back smelling fresh. I’ve never had an experience where they lost any of my belongings.
I’m removing a star because of the customer service. The lady at the front desk has always been very cordial to me. However, she always seems to have a frown on her face that can be off-​putting at times. Also, I’ve definitely heard her yelling at customers on the phone before.

Moved into the neighborhood in May and luckily chanced upon J&M. Have to say I think I am spoiled. The woman who works the counter is super nice and remembers regulars. I take my laundry in every Saturday morning and it’s always ready by 5 p.m.
I would just like to add that one Saturday I took my laundry in at 3 in the afternoon knowing that I wouldn’t be getting it back until at least Monday. I asked the girl when it would be ready and she asked when I needed it by. I jokingly said today in a «I know I haven’t got a shot in hell» tone of voice. The girl laughed but then said they weren’t really that busy and she would see what she would do. I came back at 5:50 the same day and my laundry was ready. I know this isn’t regular and wouldn’t expect it ever again but have to say I was impressed they did it.
Clothes always come back clean, smelling fresh, and folded in that «I wish I could fold clothes like this» kinda way.
Definitely reccomend.

Pickup is fast. They separate white-​color .
Price is good. Quality is always consistent.

New to the neighborhood, Ive already used 3 other wash and folds. J&M is the first to return my clothes actually smelling clean and properly folded. I know, who would imagine they’d be properly washed and folded. This alone gets them 4 stars.

I love J and M Cleaners! I just moved to the area, and after reading the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to try J and M for my wash & fold– because who has time to do their own laundry these days?
When I called, a very nice woman (who I could understand perfectly!) answered and was happy to take down my information and answer any questions I had. She said her delivery/​pick-​up guy was out but she’d send him over as soon as he got back. After about a half hour (I told her I was in no rush and would be home for a while), a very nice man came to pick up my two bags (a total of 35 lbs!) of dirty clothes. He confirmed that I had nothing that needed to be dry cleaned, and I told him I left a note in one of the bags that everything should be washed in cold water… don’t ask, that’s how I’ve always done it to ensure none of my clothes shrink. The nice man told me I could call the next morning (he picked up my laundry at noon, and since it was a lot and they close at 7pm, they’d be ready the next morning) to have my clean clothes delivered!
The next morning (well, noon…), I called and the same nice woman answered. I gave her my credit card number over the phone– she asked if I wanted her to keep it on file but I chose not to for now, but might do that in the future!- and in the middle of our call she said «Oh! My delivery guy just walked in so I’ll send him right over!»… and about 10 minutes after we hung up, my doorbell rang with the same nice man from the day before carrying a (giant) bag of my clean, folded clothes! How splendid! I tipped him $ 2 since I live on the third floor of a walk-​up and the bag was 35 lbs and he was very gracious.
My clothes were folded and organized (and nothing shrunk!), so all I had to do was transfer them from the bag to my dresser. And they smell great!
I will definitely use J and M for all of my laundry needs from now on! Free pick-​up and delivery, very nice people, prompt service, and a reasonable price. It cost me $ 33 for my 35 lbs of laundry. Not bad! Definitely better than lugging it all to a laundromat, finding quarters, waiting for it to be done, folding it myself, and lugging it back up two flights of stairs. Woohoo!

This place is wonderful! I was introduced by a friend many years ago and have since made it my primary spot. The owner is Cantonese and the nicest. Delivery is fairly quick and efficient. I have no doorman; so I generally call her and she has her guy come over. I live fairly close, so I can’t speak for folks that might use her who are far away. On and she’s super nice! I call her at 7am and she knows my name from my voice plus caller ID (but she remembers who I am as well, if I ask her about my stuff). Her guy comes in for delivery at 7:45 (the earliest you can get stuff delivered. He’s the nicest.
Everything that she’s done in the way of dry cleaning has been excellent. She’s gotten out tough stains on whites for me that I thought were not possible. Credit cards are on file for her so no additional hassle. Overall, I’m very pleased.
I believe laundry is 90c per lb. This is pretty good relative to other places in the area. Laundry mats have been really disappearing from the hood.

I’ve been going to J&M since they opened & have been impressed by their service. I have minimal dry cleaning needs, and they do a fine job with that; but what I really appreciate is their same-​day, per pound, laundry service! Drop it off downstairs in the morning, and they deliver it back that evening. No muss. No fuss… and not that pricey, either.

I love that I can find reviews on cleaners/​laundry in my neighborhood because there are so many options and it’s really word of mouth that will encourage me to go somewhere vs. another – the exterior never says anything about service/​quality for a cleaners. The owners here are extremely nice, the woman at the front desk remembers my roommate’s name and is very pleasant. I have enjoyed the wash n fold service at $ 0.90/lb. The one thing I would say is that dry cleaning here should probably be avoided if you’re precious about your clothing. I have a lovely yellow ralph lauren cable knit sweater that really degraded in color after 1 dry cleaning here and got really crunchy.

Best wash and fold in hells kitchen — they turn around any amount of laundry in the SAME DAY, pretty awesome I’d say…
Also, really friend staff, they pick-​up, and the deliver!
The wash and fold is on-​site, but they outsource the dry cleaning, hence I don’t take my dry cleaning here (I go to Ms. Buffy’s on 8^th ave), so can’t speak to that part of their service.
Lastly, surprisingly good tailor as well, especially for jeans.
