I enjoyed my time at this Joe Coffee branch. I got the ham and cheese croissant with a cup of hot chocolate, both of which were delicious for a midday snack. The two baristas behind the counter interacted with me nicely when I asked them about their sandwiches and returned my plate and cup after I finished eating and drinking what I ordered. The atmosphere of this Joe Coffee branch is nice– it has a floor to ceiling glass wall, which brings in a lot of light from outside. This is a great place to read, but not the best place to camp out and do laptop work. I also look for bathrooms at the cafés I go to, but unfortunately, this spot doesn’t have one, so I took off a star for that. Otherwise, I’m a fan!

A great alternative to Starbucks if you’d prefer a less corporate coffee experience in Greenwich Village. Seating is limited, but if you are lucky enough to grab a spot, it’s a nice place to park for a while. Baristas are friendly and the house coffee is strong. The to-go cups are super cute as well! :) There’s no bathroom that I noticed, so if this is a problem you might want to look for another place!

I learned an important lesson today… First off, the coffee is awesome. If your a no frills sipper, their drip is aromatic and really flavorful. Another example in batch-brew done right, and how it doesn’t deserve nearly as much of the stigma often attached. Now comes the lesson. Yes, as stated below, this place is excellent for students and teachers. Catching up with old friends, etc. However, if your looking to sit down for coffee with a book, do the crossword, or have some sort of mental break… anything that requires thought, or lack thereof… perhaps look elsewhere. The place is small and intimate, which means you could be within a foot of two very loud conversations at once(especially since the larger tables are shared). It seems a place tailor made for people to meet and talk. Whatever volume that may be. Everyone has different reasons for going to coffee shops, but if your more of a meditative sipper like me, maybe this could be of use. So… awesome coffee. Great music. Just maybe don’t go solo. PS — The wifi wasn’t up. Not sure if thats a perpetual thing.

minus 1 star because there’s no bathroom… Coffee is a diuretic(aka everyone is going to need to go pee after a cup of Joe’s coffee — it should be mandatory for all coffee shops to have a restroom it only makes sense) Anyways, cute small store on NYU campus but with minimal seating. I had the: + LATTE W/ALMOND MILK: wish was really hot which I appreciated especially since it was –7 degrees that day. They offer two sizes, which is equivalent to a Starbucks Grande and Venti! + HONEYGLAZEDDOUGHNUT: it’s a ginormous doughnut and I wanted to try what a honey glazed doughnut tasted like. It wasn’t as sweet, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I wish asked for it to be warmed up– probably would have tasted better. They do have a stamp card — so make sure to pick one up! I would say it’s a standard coffee shop. Obviously Stumptown(few blocks away) is more extravagant but I like Joe’s coffee is more quaint and humble in feel :)

It’s my go-to place for coffee. The iced coffee, my go to drink, is always fresh. It’s just so so so so much better than deli coffee, and its better than the other higher-end coffee places around there without being too expensive or pretentious(I’m looking at you Stumptown Not the best place to sit down and chat, just because its not SUPER big(the one on 13th is better for that.) Definitely still the best coffee within quite a few blocks around that area, IMO. The staff is definitely cooler than at Oren’s, without a doubt– no attitude whatsoever whereas Orens usually its like they’re doing you a favor. IF I had one wish– they would have the cold brew year round, instead of just the traditional iced… the cold brew gets me through life.

Strolling down 8th Street, I was delighted to see the new light blue-colored Joe sign stand out. I wish this Joe coffee shop was open during my youthful years at NYU then I could’ve been introduced to good quality coffee even sooner. The customer base for this Joe shop is mostly university students, a few tourists on the weekend, and probably the wealthy neighbors. It’s a pleasant addition to the coffee scene on campus so the Think Coffee brand can be relieved its burden of being the only provider for good coffee around. The space is neatly arranged with stools and tables, however, still rather narrow and can be a bit noisy when it gets busy. Consistent with other Joe’s I’ve visited, its lattes are well-crafted and made from quality coffee beans. Their coffee beans have a more floral(or you may think mildly sour) taste at first but let the latte sit for a few more seconds, the rich and bitter coffee flavor will come out to perfection.

Quaint store and I have to say it’s the best on the block. Speaking of coffee, their grinds are really aromatic and if my coffee maker at home isn’t broken, I would’ve bogard my way out there with 5 bags of it. Cute and laid-back baristas too! Idk if that counts, ha! Don’t get the orange juice they have on the chiller. Just don’t.

Despite living right next to Joe’s, and being a caffeine addict, I somehow hadn’t gone to this little coffee shop until today. Boy, am I glad I did. I ordered a hot latte and an Apple Cinnamon doughnut(doughnut plant!!!). The line was not very long, and the barista was very focused. I adore latte art, so seeing them do it here was a nice touch as well. Espresso was excellent, not too strong, and lacking that burnt taste that mediocre espresso sometimes has(looking at you, starbucks). All in all very nice shop, cute décor, and great coffee.

Drinks are quite good and affordable, staff is nice, but the wifi didn’t work when I was there which is most of the reason that I went in the first place so minus two stars.

Started coming here before class instead of Starbucks, and boy what a difference! The shop is small but very nice, the baristas are friendly, and the line is never long: perfect for the morning coffee run! The coffee itself is excellent, I particularly love their cold brew. Not to mention they have great food and pastries(including Doughnut Plant doughnuts!!) Definitely my first choice for morning coffee

Really cute and small establishment. I got the cappuccino which is pretty thick on the milk foam, but the coffee is nice and smooth. Maybe not as strong as some other boutique coffee shops. The staff is really friendly. Asked for the password for the wifi and the barista politely gave it to me. The staff is very laid back. So if you’re in a rush, then you may need to go somewhere else. Great place for students and teachers. :)

I’m so happy this coffee shop opened up! Unlike many others in the neighborhood, Joe has quite a few tables. The décor is very charming, and there are even fresh flowers scattered around! There’s plenty of light and the atmosphere is very relaxing. It’s not as crazy or loud as Think, so it’s a perfect spot to read a book or catch up with a friend. I didn’t see very many people working, and it might not be the most comfortable place to work in, but I’m sure you still could. My coffee loving friend declared their coffee the best in the ‘hood. I have tried their hot and iced chai, and I loved them both. A bit better then Think’s and a little cheaper too. Overall, the prices are pretty good, better than expected. The staff is friendly and service is very quick. They also have a beautiful display holding some delicious looking pastries, including doughnuts from Doughnut Plant! They also have a rewards punch card so you get a free coffee once you buy 10. Love it, welcome to the neighborhood Joe!

I’m thankful there’s a decent coffee house in this area, finally! I had a cappuccino and it was pretty good. A little too much milk than it should be but it’s really not bad at all. It’s comparable to Mud, but Mud’s coffee is stronger(which I lurrve). You can tell the coffee they use is good stuff, unlike those over roasted in-fact-burnt coffee at Starbucks.
