Me and my wife stumbled upon Kurant as we were starting to ache for some lunch. We had ‘The Burger’ and it was really good. Overall well priced and with really good service!

Accepted online order. Called to say they no longer serve the item. Didn’t bother to cancel order out of the system. Sent confirmation and took the money and ran. Not sure if this place is run by children or adults.

No :( The bolognese was watery and the penne with pesto had almost no pesto in it. The wine and bruschetta were good though! Maybe it’s better at dinner time or today was an off day but I wouldn’t try this place again.

Great place to come for drinks or wine. Some high top tables in the front and regular tables in the back. always good music playing– the last time I was there they played oldies which seems odd for a Saturday night but was actually a lot of fun. The service is hit or miss. Drinks– carafes of wine, some beers on draft and a full bar. asked for a filthy martini which I got a look for when I ordered but it was sufficiently dirty and the olives were good. Yes I judge the olives that come in my martinis. As everyone should. Food– good cheese and charcuterie platters. Many types of cheeses served w nut/raisin bread, grapes, and jam. The blue cheese and Brie were really creamy. I could have had 3 more orders. The menu aside from the appetizers and salads is relatively small. The spinach artichoke dip was great– not too creamy and nice chunks of artichoke hearts in it HOWEVER it needed to be about two times the size. The Mac and cheese(which we ordered without bacon) was ok. Not enough stringy cheese and not enough umph. Maybe that’s why it usually comes with bacon b The burger is tasty and cooked very nicely. I haven’t ordered any of the other entrees. Overall impression– come here for drinks and appetizers. Get your mains elsewhere.

Booked a reservation the night before going to brunch which never made it to their system for some reason… My girlfriend and I called on our way and were told there was no reservation. We spoke with Mila and upon arrival we met Mila in person. If you are lucky, you will have the chance to have her attention to service. She was apologetic, and made us feel like we were special customers with a smile and grace. Food was was amazing and drinks were great but Anika’s service made it all worth wile.

Terrible! Tried to screw us on the bill. Then tell me that I didn’t want to tip– I would love to tip a waitress that could count. If I could give 0 stars I would.

This is a great place! It’s chic but still casual. It was not full, although the service was a bit slow. We waited 10 minutes for our waitress to come to pick up our bill. In any case, the menu is quite appetizing. The chicken was juicy and tender. It came with delicious fingerling potatoes, carrots, and spinach. I loved this dish, but it was a bit small unfortunately for the price. My friend got the turkey burger, which he said was good too. The chocolate mousse cake was also divine. Perfect way to finish off the meal!

Cute! I came here for Sunday brunch with the girls. I got steak(med rare) and eggs. Steak was on the small side but balanced well with the over easy eggs, side salad, potatoes, and toast. We didn’t get the bottomless option since it would put the meal at $ 40 per person(including tip and tax). Happy hour put our wine at $ 7 per glass. However, the restuarant doesn’t have AC/it’s really weak. By the end of our meal our tighs were sticking to the leather seats. Overall I think this is decent brunch spot but nothing crazy. If we lived in the neighborhood this would be a regular brunch spot for us. But we could find simlar places everywhere else in NYC.

My wife and I go to Kurant on the regular. Most of the experiences have been great until the recent one. Let’s talk about the positives here first — great«ambience» — reasonable wine prices and selection — pretty good varied menu During the recent experience, the negatives outweighed the positives though. In fact, if this review was just based on the recent experience, we would be looking at 2 stars max. My wife ordered the seared tuna salad(something that she has multiple times there). When it came looked like a side salad not an entrée salad. There were four to five«cubes» of tuna… each cube being smaller than a child’s thumb. I could have probably eaten all the cubes in one bite. I am not one to complain at restaurants but I had to say something to the server. I mentioned that there was more tuna in the past etc but the server told me that the salad was not changed and the kitchen measures out and weights the tuna to make sure there is a specific amount. Come on now, I doubt there is a chef back weighting cubes of tuna and if there was the scale would read«add more!» . I welcome thoughts from the owner or manager.

We stopped by here after some shopping. The Happy Hour Wine was yummy :). The Burgers were okay, mine was a little overcooked but the fries were amazing. It was a nice fun time! Nice place… but nothing too impressive

Okay, so the best part of this place is the atmosphere. My boyfriend and I came here for happy hour and loved the ambience. However, the happy hour prices weren’t very happy considering that a bottle between the two of us would have equated to two drinks each. But that’s okay. Alcohol is expensive and so are the times! That being said, we ordered the prosciutto melon, and I think we only got 3 strips of prosciutto which seemed a bit small in comparison to what we usually get at other wine venues. I did like the Mac and cheese quite a bit though. Other than that, it’s a cute place but nothing crazy spectacular.

This is a great place to bring a date. Dimly lit and in the summer time they have the doors open. The service was spot on as she always came at exactly the right time and was very nice. It was a WED night so it was crowded then not and then crowded again but always enough seats. My only problem was music was a little loud when it was empty for an hour. But there is nothing in this hood so I will be back!

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. They have happy hour everyday with wine specials, which we did not partake in. Their entire menu is very reasonably priced for the area, and we liked everything we ordered: cheese plate, bacon mac & cheese, bruschetta, organic chicken entrée(very salty but tasty), and a huge burger(very salty also but so good). The cheese plate was probably my favorite thing, which was accompanied by fig jam, grapes, and raisin bread, and quite inexpensive. In particular, the Boschetta cheese with truffle oil was absolutely delicious! I’m looking forward to going back and trying other menu items(crab cake, charcuterie, duck pâté). There was no greeter at the door upon entry, but a very friendly bartender helped us to get seated, took our orders, and followed through during the entire dinner. She was super pleasant to deal with. Because it’s such a small place, the bartenders were also waiting tables, and they did an overall good job of keeping up with all of the demands. The restaurant has a few four-top tables, which we request everywhere we go, and some smaller tables. The intimate environment is perfect for a date or for good conversation. We were not rushed out by any means, nor were any other tables. The place has the typical rustic wine bar wood seating, which isn’t necessarily comfortable but looks nice. I am looking forward to our next visit!

Kurant is a romantically-lit establishment with a large bar and about 15 tables. The place seems to be pretty crowded, but there’s enough space for everyone to get in and out. The staff was very nice, but not necessarily the most attentive since they’re simultaneously bartending and waiting tables. My bronzino entrée was great overall! The mashed potatoes had the perfect texture, and the spinach was seasoned just right. The bronzino was yummy at first bite, but then bits and pieces of it weren’t as hot as the rest of the plate. Also, I found a couple bones in the filet… eh. Prices are also very reasonable for the neighborhood — one of the few $$ eateries in the area.

Cute little wine bar that is always packed. The champagne on happy hour was flat the last time I was there. Decent pricing on wine and food, it’s a nice girl’s night out.

A wonderful neighborhood wine bar with a happy hour special. This place is relatively inexpensive and the portions are quite large. I definitely recommend this spot for dates or catching up with friends. It can get crowded so I suggest getting one of their cocktails or a glass of wine at the bar to wait. Food: the meat & cheese plate, the bolognese, the bacon mac and cheese, the burger — are all really good!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now and glad I did last night! It’s a nice breath of fresh air on the 2nd Avenue strip mostly dominated by Irish pubs and the sort of dive bars frequented by underage college kids(Turtle Bay, Traffic, etc.). The inside is rustic and cozy, and even at 6pm on a Sunday night, it was relatively full. The menu is what you’d expect from a bar, but perhaps a bit more upscale or artfully presented. My friend and I split a very forgettable and sad caprese salad, a delicious spinach salad, shrimp cocktail, and a small cheese plate. Aside from the caprese salad, everything was quite good. There is a happy hour deal until 7pm for glasses of house wine. I wouldn’t come here on a romantic date, just because the atmosphere is more comparable to a generic sports bar than a trendy wine bar. But great to come for a quick bite!

Cute place. About a 10 minute walk from my work so no need to take the train. My bro and I met here and the food was really good. The service staff was incredibly friendly and knew what they were doing. The foods a little pricey for my liking but that won’t deter me from coming back. I’ll come back when my bro’s not on his vegan kick which should be in a couple of weeks.

The only sense in which Kurant succeeds as a 4.5-star establishment is as a quieter, not-divey sports bar alternative. Two TV’s were showing the Uruguay game last night while we enjoyed Happy Hour prosecco/beer, a 3-cheese plate(with 3 slices of each of the three cheeses, and raisin bread), and steak tartare. The steak tartare was an uneven mess of temperatures throughout and had bone shards in it. My root canal did not appreciate the crunchy bits.
