Just called for delivery and I’m so sad as it looks like this particular Land Thai on the east side has maybe closed? :(I can’t believe it, as I had only just ordered from them a couple of weeks ago. The one on the west side appears to still be open, so at least they haven’t all closed. It’s a big bummer as this was one of the best thai restaurants in the area. The food was consistently good and they were aware of gluten allergies which was a big bonus when ordering for my family. Also, they used nice quality meats and produce, so everything always seemed fresh. At least the one on the west side is still in business, so if you go there I would recommend the massaman curry. It’s super good. Also, I really loved their green curry and they used to also make a gluten free stir fried rice for me that was excellent(maybe they would prepare it at the west side location?). At any rate, sorry to hear the east side location closed. I really wish the owners well and hopefully they’ll reopen in another location? If not, hope the one located on the west side does well.

I can’t believe they CLOSED! I loved this place. Had the best green curry of any of the UES Thai top-rated spots. And they usual had pretty speedy delivery. Was shocked when I called and the number was out of service. I have no idea how places like Spice and Eat can stay open — their food pales in comparison!

Went to Land early on a Sunday night — the place was almost empty when we got there but filled up quickly. We ordered the chicken curry puffs to start, and they were great. Now I consider myself a man who knows his way around a bowl of pad thai. Land’s chicken pad thai was some of the best I’ve ever had. My girlfriend ordered cashew nut shrimp, which was, and I quote, «transcendent and flavorful.» She’s a real catch. The service was great — our waitress was attentive and quick to move the meal along without getting pushy. The atmosphere was trendy yet reserved, well-lit with a nice mix of instrumental music in the background. I’ll definitely be returning in the near future when I get a craving for Thai.

My husband and I have found that the entrees here are much better than the appetizers. The curry dishes here are quite tasty but we didn’t love the veggie dumplings or the larb. People love their veggie dumplings though! Sorry to say and regardless, we still eat here! On a side note, I really love basil rolls(soft rice paper rolls with vermicelli noodles, shrimp and basil) with a spicy sauce. I wish they would add these to the menu. I have had basil rolls at many Thai restaurants in the south and for some reason I have yet to find a place up here with basil rolls.(so Land: if you are reading?..)

I came here with a friend twice. Once for lunch, and once for dinner. For lunch we got the $ 9 lunch deal, where you can pick an appetizer and a main course. To make the most of this deal I would recommend getting a noodle dish. For lunch I ordered the Green Papaya Salad and the Pad Thai. I requested mine to be spicy. The Green Papaya Salad was bright and flavorful from the fish oil, sesame oil, and lime juice. The green papaya was fresh, while crushed toasted peanuts added a nice crunch. The whole salad was very light and refreshing. The Pad Thai was definitely spicy, and well seasoned. I loved how many crushed peanuts there were, and the combination of the spice with the sweet and sour flavor of the noodles. It was definitely one of the best Pad Thai dishes I’ve ever had, not too greasy as well. When I came here for dinner my friend and I split an order of Veggie Dumplings, which I highly recommend. The dumpling skins are chewy and pliant, while the inside is filled with crushed peanuts, green onion, and finely chopped vegetables. The filling is surprisingly sweet, and made creamy from the peanuts. They were so good that even just writing this I still wish I could eat them. Then we both ordered wok dishes. I got the Wok Chili Pepper, but I subbed the chicken for Tofu and Veggies. I really liked the eggplant and cabbage, but I felt that this dish was a bit pedestrian. The sauce basically tasted like a pretty average soy sauce and oil combination, which was pretty good but could probably be made at home just as easily. So I would say stick with the noodle dishes, and of course order the Veggie Dumplings.

Could the upper east side be home to one of the best thai places in the city? yes… We started with Larb Chicken Wraps and Veggie Dumplings. Both were excellent. The chicken for the wraps was well seasoned and the touch of mint was refreshing. The dumplings were beyond awesome — some of the best I’ve ever had. They were a good bite of salty, soft, with a touch of sweet. For mains we had the drunken noodle tofu and red curry duck(which was a special that night). The noodles were not you typical flat rice noodle; these were wheat noodles that had a good kick. Very delicious and hearty. The duck was also fantastic — cooked medium rare, the duck was served with vegetables and a warm, red curry sauce. We didn’t have room for dessert, but to be honest, I would have gotten more dumplings if I had room. Service was great despite being super busy. Our waitress constantly smiled and the food did not take long to prepare at all. A winner.

The veggie dumplings(and their sauce) are to die for. I’ve been enjoying them for years here and at the westside location. The other things I’ve had here are good enough, but nowhere near their greatness. For example, in the green curry chicken, the bird can be a little tough, the vegetables(like tiny eggplant spheres) can be undercooked, and the sauce(while spicy) can be a bit one dimensional. One nice thing here is the $ 9 price fixe lunch menu, which allows you to sample first and second course, though the size of the appetizer is smaller. With prix-fixe, you get 2 veggie dumplings versus the 4 you get with the $ 7 version from the regular menu

Presentation is key! Instead of serving fried rice with chicken in just any ol’ bowl, it was served shaped into a decorative mound, adorned with lime wedges and cucumber slices. Instead of throwing some beef pad thai together on a plate, it was served on intricate tableware, with each main ingredient of the dish decoratively separated; bean sprouts lined up next to noodles and beef surrounded by mixed vegetables looked as appetizing as it tasted. Instead of serving Thai iced tea in any ol’ glass, it was served in a squat and intricately adorned ceramic mug. It honestly made it taste better, I swear! The food was comparable to any other good Thai I’ve had in Manhattan. To me, fried rice is fried rice is fried rice. Still, coupled with a aesthetically pleasing presentation, it was a notch above the rest.

I need to figure out how to order things spicy in the NY. I recently had the basil beef which is listed on the menu as spicy. The overall flavor was good but, I wanted more fire! The green curry with chicken same thing, tasty but, still I wanted a little more spicy goodness. I’d have to say it’s probably a touch spicy for most people, I just happen to love really spicy food. The $ 9 lunch special is a great deal, one app and one entrée. I managed to have leftovers even(and I was starving when I ordered). The larb chicken wrap is pretty good, I’d use a fork to eat the entire thing next time since my hand smelled like fish sauce afterwards and that’s a smell that tends to linger. The service is always very friendly and the delivery is fairly quick.

A minimalist by nature, the thing I enjoyed most about my dining experience at Land was the décor. The food wasn’t so shabby, either. We got dumplings for an appetizer which were really good, and, because I wanted to eat lightly before the night’s festivities, I opted simply for the salmon fried rice for dinner. That was pretty exceptional. Washed down with a pomegranate mojito, I have to say that it was all together a very nice dining experience.

Yet another vote of confidence for the veggie dumplings. You could eat these every day and never get bored. The satay was moist and the accompanying sauce eye-opening. We asked for the spice to be toned down in the drunken noodles, but it wound up missing entirely. The skirt steak, though – wow. Beautifully cooked, tender, marinated perfectly. A keeper for anyone who likes beef. The waitstaff is attentive and obliging, happily opening a bottle of wine for us to taste. We went for it, but I have to say the the Gruner Veltliner is not really interesting enough to keep pace with the food. There are other nice choices, some by the glass. The interior is modern but warm, with oversized vibrant light fixtures and lots of wood. A nice place for a casual date or girls’ night out.

This is going to sound redundant, but Land has the best Shrimp Pad Thai I’ve experienced in or out of New York City. Just to be sure, I tried the same dish on two separate occasions – and both times, the Shrimp Pad Thai was perfection. It creates an interesting conundrum, because I’d love to try something else; but how can I when the Pad Thai is perfect? I did manage to try a dessert – the Thai coffee crème brûlée, which I found to be quite an interesting spin on a classic, and the perfect note to end on after the aforementioned perfect Pad Thai.(Told you this was going to sound redundant). I’d love to go with 5 stars, but unfortunately, the perfect Pad Thai is apparently only perfect IN the restaurant – its carryout counterpart is great, but doesn’t quite measure up. An understandable and somewhat forgivable flaw. Perhaps they have a different chef preparing carryout – I can’t say for sure. It’s a small space, but cozy and comfortable. Service is great, as well. Land will easily become a favorite on the Upper East Side.

I order delivery from this place probably a few times a month. Go-to Thai food for sure — well-priced, comes quickly, high quality food and ingredients, and delicious. My favs: Calamari — with Thai spice and sauce mmmmmmmm Vegetable Dumplings — basically like peanut butter dumplings and they’re sweet because of the corn Green Curry with Chicken — yummy eggplant and green beans in a very well done green curry

Was excited to try this place, but was disappointed. Came with a friend who was visiting that I haven’t seen in years, so we wanted to have a leisurely dinner catching up. Got here at 7pm on a Tuesday, sat outside(which was empty when we got there). Unfortunately we were rushed out of the place in a pretty rude way. As it started getting full they kept refilling our wine(before we had even drank any), cleared plates, etc. And they gave us the bill before we had even finished eating. What if we had wanted dessert or something? The food was fine, but I’ve had better thai. So yeah, won’t go back there, and won’t recommend it.

Love, love, love the vegetable dumplings here. Had them as an appetizer last night and now wish I could order a plateful of them as a main course. Soft and moist, yet firm at the same time. Steamed just right, and filled with tasty ingredients including crushed peanuts! Oh joy! Eating these made me want to sing out loud every song from Grease! I always order the Pad Thai when visiting a Thai restaurant I have not been at before, and this was no exception. I had the shrimp Pad Thai and it was terrific. Lots of shrimp, great flavor, and the sauce was more of a sweet based one, but not over-powering. Just a good hearty bowl of flavorful food. I am a Pad Thai fanatic. Waitresses were cheery and always on top of us for water and to see if we needed anything else. I don’t know why, but I always drink lots of water at Thai places. Great service here. We sat outside last night as it was nice out. Lots of seating. The inside features a modern-chic wood décor. Prices are reasonable and on the cheaper side, and they have lunch specials too. One of the better Thai places on the UES. Worth a meal if in the area.

Thanks Unilocal for introducing me to this place! First off, the atmosphere is fantastic. Love the interior of this restaurant. Second, the service is outstanding. I drink A LOT of water and I think they filled it up at least 6 times without my cup never going down to more than ¼ of water left. Third, the food was GREAT. I personally got the pad see ew. It was so flavorful and the spiciness to it was a great compliment. The girl got the drunk/crazy noodles. Great dish as well and we split the chicken cabbage appeitizer thing. I forgot what it was called but you put the chicken mix with the cabbage and eat it. At first it was a bit intimidating because at first, the mix had a strange stench… one that reminded me of poo, but after getting used to it, it was very tangy and delicious! So why do I give it four stars? Because honestly for Thai Food, it’s simply just overpriced. My dish came out to be $ 13. I’ve never had to pay more than 10 for a Thai dish. Everything else was great. But it’s a bit pricy for my liking… for thai food. Oh well, I’ll definitely come back again as I love wasting my money on delicious food. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy

I came here with a few friends and coworkers for dinner yesterday. Usually, I look for places with 4 stars minimum on Unilocal, but another one of my friends picked our destination this time around and I hadn’t even asked. I’m surprised it’s only at 3.5! We had some difficulty ordering only because everything on the menu sounded delicious. We didn’t order much, but started with the calamari. The sauce was the most amazing calamari side sauce I’ve ever had, and the calamari itself was breaded and fried to perfection. For my main, I went with the shrimp with cashews. The portion was perfectly sized, though I had wished it’d come with some more shrimp — only because it was really good! Everyone else at the table was equally satisfied. The thai iced tea was good, too — not overly sweet(an easy mistake to make). The bill came out to around $ 20/person with tip — totally reasonable! Granted, we didn’t order drinks because we’d gone to a bar beforehand so I can’t speak to that. Service was impeccable throughout — there was always a waiter or waitress nearby if we needed anything, and our water glasses were refilled probably every 5 minutes. My only complaint is the wait, or rather the hostess who estimates the wait. We originally wanted to sit outside, but were told the wait would be about 20 minutes. So we gave the hostess one of our cell numbers and walked two doors down to a bar to grab a happy hour round. About 5 minutes later immediately after we ordered our drinks, we get the phone call — the table just opened. Great. So we ask when the next table will open and she tells us 7:45 and puts us down for a reservation. We finish our drinks, have a second round, and get back promptly at 7:45 — still no table. At 8:10, still no table. We ended up just grabbing a table inside and all was fine, but definitely would have preferred to have sat down 30 – 45 minutes earlier as expected.

I love love love this place! I have never been to the restaurant itself, but I have ordered delivery from it many, many times. Order the Pad See Eew. Just do it. You can thank me later. The skirt steak is good too. The delivery is relatively fast and always reliable. The food is always stand out, and it makes for a really cheap dinner. Best Thai on the UES.

Solid Thai food and my go-to neighborhood Thai place. The tofu pad thai is great, flavorful and chock-full of tofu triangles. My brother is a huge fan of the seared duck breast served with bok choy. It’s served quite pink in the center, so don’t get if you’re squeamish about uncooked poultry. The curry is pretty spicy(even when we specified mild) and a tad on the watery side. Great outdoor seating on warm nights. I’ve never tried the desserts as I’ve always succumbed to the allure of the Pinkberry next door.
