The food and service are both incredible. Ordered the Kale & Shaved Brussels Sprouts(this is incredible, loved it), the Butternut Squash Risotto(loved the touch of pine nuts) & finally the Sangria Hanger Steak. Highly recommend this place!

Delicious! This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants. I had the pork with celery slaw and spaghetti squash, which was delicious. I also had a side of the perfectly browned brussels sprouts with apples and pecans. The chardonnay was excellent, but nothing could top the decadent dessert, which was amazing(and I am a dessert snob) without making you feel like you ate a brick! I had and highly recommend the pear and cranberry tart with ginger ice cream, and the gelatos. The dark chocolate gelato is also the best I’ve had! Can’t wait to come back!

Had a really great experience here last night! We sat at the bar and Alaska the bartender was incredibly nice and attentive. We ordered the kale and shaved Brussels sprout salad — very good, tasted like their own original take on a traditional Cesar. We shared the gnocchi special and sangria hanger steak with spinach and patatas bravas. SO flavorful and delicious. Amazing food and incredible service!

Wonderful from start to finish. The hostess was super friendly and we were seated immediately. I’m glad we had a reservation since the joint was packed. It’s a bit noisy, but the service and food make up for that. Our server was great. She even stuck a shot of espresso in my coffee since I work nights and was just waking up. It’s the little things, people. Loved her. Dinner was tasty. Cooked perfectly and out really quickly. The spaghetti squash that came with my crispy pork chop was really stand out. Apple pie is a must have. I’ll go back here for sure.

Best pancakes I’ve had in NY(so far) Light, fluffy and the buttermilk was exceptional. Cool, airy, light and open dining room — staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgable about menu. Will be back to eat again and hopefully after a full meal, add that extra star

Two recommendations from our brunch here today: Oysters and Brussels Sprouts The oysters were so fresh and the cocktail relish they provide pairs perfectly. And I just don’t know how anybody can make a vegetable like brussel sprouts so tasty. We definitely can’t wait to come back to try another round of oysters and the rest of their vegetable sides. I docked one star for portion size. While the buttermilk pancakes were tasty, they were way too miniature in my opinion.

Our friends made some rezzy’s close to their apartment, and I am so glad they chose Market Table. This place makes me want to buy a $ 100 bottle of wine. So I did, times two. It was an awesome Cab Blend– Robert Sinskey, California… just bought some for my apartment! I loved everything about this place. It was cozy, dimly lit, intimate. Run down of the food: We had some amazing Spinach Gnocchi that had truffled mushrooms, and I was all about it. We also went with the cauliflower and brussel sprouts. Both were awesome, and that’s coming from a non-cauliflower fan. We had some awesome entrees– I had the pasta special, boyfriend has the Hanger Steak. Both were some of the best I’ve ever had. Steak was the perfect temperature– and as a huge beef snob this is noteworthy! I cannot wait to return :)

We had a brunch yesterday! Nice place and great service. We got the burger, butternut risotto, and steak tacos. I’m would say they were all average! Nothing special. I would not order any of them again. Oh the fries were so good!

Lovely interior — Market Table boasts these floor to ceiling windows that make the entire restaurant bright and airy, even on a cloudy November day. I wish the food stood out as much as the layout and décor did. I can’t put my finger on any dish that was absolutely terrible, but I also can’t pinpoint anything that made me quiver with excitement for my next visit(preface: I went for brunch, so maybe the dinner menu is otherwise astounding). Everything we ordered was clean, beautifully presented, and fresh, yet nothing truly sung, except for maybe the fries that came with the cheeseburgers and the butternut squash risotto. I was hankering for some greens, so I chose the squash and apple salad with grapes and pumpkin seeds. Totally my fault for going with the healthy dish(must have been my off day). The dish came laden with black pepper. Everything black pepper. My friend’s buttermilk pancakes was very … flat. The butter spread on top looked thicker than the actual pancake. Also, the $ 10 kale and $ 12 roasted Brussels sprouts came on the same plate together. A tiny plate, best suited for a pre-meal complimentary bread slice. I’m not saying $ 10 should have gotten me a bucket of kale, but when a bag of it goes for less than $ 4 at the local Trader Joe’s, uh, you might as well pay $ 4 for Market Table’s gold-stuffed half of an avocado. And the turkey club was $ 16. Say what? Rents must be soaring, because damn. Generally, a very«Ladies who Brunch» spot. To best serve the clientele, free prosecco is given instead of free bread.

This place has been on my radar for years and I finally made it here for lunch with 3 friends. We were about 30 minutes late for our lunch reservation but they were very flexible and didn’t fuss. The main dining area isn’t big but it’s not cramped and has good light. To my disappointment there was very little fish in the menu for lunch(you gotta come for dinner for that) but everything we had here was good. We shared apps of spinach & beet risotto, crunchy calamari salad and ricotta cavatelli. The kale pesto in the cavatelli was really good. The kind of sauce you don’t want to waste so you mop up every last drop with bread. Throw in ricotta and perfectly cooked cavatelli with that and you’ve got all the makings of an excellent dish. The spinach & beet risotto was executed superbly as well. I was hoping it wasn’t going to be overwhelmingly beety and it wasn’t. It was buttery but the risotto had a good texture as well. The balance of the spinach and beet was just right for me. For my entrée, I went with the flounder sandwich and shared my friend’s burger which was very juicy but a bit lacking in seasoning. I liked my flounder sandwich better. The fish was perfectly fried and the dark vinegar kinda gave it a classic fish n chips feel sans the chips of course. I didn’t care for all the coleslaw on the flounder so I only ate less than half of it. I will never understand the point of coleslaw. There is better use for both mayonnaise and cabbage and it’s not together. I hope one day people will look back at coleslaw and put it in their«WTF were we thinking» column. Right under Caesar salad. Seriously, f**k coleslaw. The entire meal was enhanced by some fantastic cocktails but we didn’t have any room left for dessert. The portion sizes were quite large — especially the apps. We were the last table to leave when they were shutting down to clean up for dinner but in no point did we feel rushed. My friend even broke a glass while leaving. I almost tipped over an urn. Dream customers we weren’t. The look of exasperation on our waitress’ face said it all but she was polite throughout. I felt bad. Will gladly return for dinner(even if they may not want us to).

What a disappointment my second visit here was. Things that have gone downhill since my last visit: the service, the food and the portions. One star deduction for each. First, there was ‘tude from the icy hostess, it was just me and my mom(who was visiting me), asking for a table for two. I had told her all about how great the food here was and boy, did I feel like a fool afterwards. After a lengthy wait, we finally got seated. We had to ask for water several times before someone got us some. We ordered from their limited brunch menu. We were starving. Fortunately, my mom ordered the turkey club, which was bigger and tasted better than my steak tacos — though they should take the«s» off tacos because it was NOT a trio like you would expect, but get this — TWO tacos, two pathetic, teeny weeny tacos, with so little steak and ingredients on it, I might as well have just eaten plain tortillas. Who does that?! Everyone serves a TRIO of tacos, not two. Things that come in threes: definitely tacos! Serving two tacos as an entrée(this was not an appetizer!) is just plain tacky and cheap. I paid $ 15 for two tortillas that each had(1) one-inch piece of steak on it. Sad thing is that it wasn’t even good. Never felt so ripped off. I get that New York restaurants in general serve small portions to make you order multiple appetizers and bilk you out of your money, but even compared to other restaurants, the portion of my teeny tiny tacos was shameful. I wasn’t asking for Buca di Beppo family-sized portions, just decent portions. While my mom’s turkey club sandwich looked bigger, upon closer inspection, I discovered that it was mostly bread and other fillings. It contained(if you put the meat together) about two slices of actual turkey. After seeing these portions, I didn’t want to spend another dime at this restaurant. I left feeling hungry and jipped. Shame on you, Market Table! Instead of hiding behind your farm fresh ingredients, you should focus on providing appropriate portions and value to your customers.

Came here for a team dinner with 5 people, and it was really great! The menu items all sounded really good so it was so hard to choose. I tried the hanger steak and the Octopus. Both were fantastic! They were seasoned well and cooked just right. Definitely would recommend. I also tried the flourless chocolate cake which was great. I typically find most to be too chocolately, but this just hit the right spot. Hope to come back again!

This restaurant is AWESOME! We started off with the Quinoa fritters, which were unlike anything that we’ve ever had before. The Strip steak was cooked beautifully and my pork loin was so tender that i could cut it with a spoon. We finished it off with their home made panna cotta which was almost as good as what I’ve had in Greece. Service was excellent, décor was nice and there were lots of interesting people here.

I had an nice meal at Market Table this past Friday. Early birthday celebration with the girls. Woo! Very intimate restaurant. Very dark, too. I could barely see in front of me. Amongst the 5 of us, we tried a good selection of their small but seasonal menu. For apps, we had the sea scallops, brooklyn burrata, sashimi& cucumber and their special, spinach gnocchi. Entrees — sangria hanger steak, wild striped bass, grilled artic char and the pancetta wrapped pork tender. We also ordered sides — spiced fries, spicy mexican corn and the sweet pea risotto. We all loved the apps! Small portions but everything was wonderful. Everyone agreed that the best was the spinach gnocchi. These were so plump and tender, with a little smoky aftertaste. If I had a spoon, it wouldn’t have stood a chance. Scallops were seared perfectly over some simple but tasty corn risotto. The sashimi was a tuna, nice and fatty with thin slices of cucumber adding that refreshing crunch. I didn’t like the entrees nearly as much. Neither of the fish dishes were very memorable. Both were cooked fine, tasted very simple and clean but that’s it. I enjoyed the pork tender though. Wrapped in pancetta, it was nice and crisp on the outside. The pork itself was perfectly cooked! I wish we ordered more sides! All we tried were excellent, except the sweet pea risotto. This was good but pretty plain, I thought the corn risotto with the scallops app was better. That spicy mexican corn was the real deal. So sweet. Seasonal market veggies FTW. For desserts, we shared the peach&fig pie and panna cotta. Panna cotta was standard but the pie was absolutely divine. What an incredible flavor combo, and it wasn’t too sweet either. Great last bite of the night. We had a blip with service early on – there were only two waitresses working that night — but it got much better after we ordered. Overall, good. I’d come back to try their seemingly popular brunch. And order a bunch of/all of the veggies !

If this is the first time you are here try brunch, get the hash. I usually don’t like hash, because, let’s be honest, it’s just potatoes and you pour ketchup on it. B-o-r-ing. But here, they do it sooooo differently. They added beets and onion, and no ketchup needed at all. It was so flavorful and unique, and I regretted every second for not getting it after I tasted my husband’s hash… We also got the spicy Mexican corn and their daily special chicken enchilada. I wouldn’t call the corn spicy per se, but it’s some damn yummy corn. The chicken enchilada was the least memorable dish, which goes back to my first sentence — get the hash, even if this is not the first time you are here.

What a class act. Market Table exceeded all of my expectations and I couldn’t be happier. My fiancé and I had been wanting to splurge on a nice night out and I spied on Unilocal and OpenTable for some suggestions and they brought me right in. I made a reservation through OpenTable and confirmed on the phone the day of. If you don’t confirm your reservation by 3:30 the day you plan on dining in, they will give your table away to walk-ins. We arrived a bit earlier than our scheduled reservation time so the hostess leaded us to the bar. By the time I freshened up and took a quick peek of the drink menu we were ready to be seated. Very efficient! Our waiter was exceptional. Service was impeccable and every associate working was obviously proud to be there and passionate about the menu. It was refreshing to see and be a part of. We started with a drink. My fiancé had the Eagle Eye. It caught his eye because of the serano salt rim. He was very pleased with his cocktail and said it was the best drink he’s ever had. I splurged on a nice glass of rosé champagne and was quite pleased. Excellent start to the meal. There were a few specials of the night and we decided to snag one of them. The way our waiter explained the menu in great detail was delightful. I felt like we made excellent choices which many of his recommendations. Here’s the rundown of the food: Crunchy calamari: This was special. It wasn’t just a pile of fried calamari on a plate. Instead it was a nice salad with a great bite of lemon and brine from pickled peppers. I loved that they split the appetizer onto two plates so we didn’t have to struggle with too many plates on the table. Lovely touch. Quinoa hush puppies: If these are on the menu when you’re there, do yourself a favor and order them. They were crisp on the exterior and creamy on the interior. They were perfect. Paired with the bite of the smokey chipotle aioli it was just magnificent. A perfect appetizer. Lamb neck: My fiancé’s order. The lamb was perfectly tender and the fontina fonduta paired so well with it. The salad atop the tender meat was also delicious. He almost picked up the plate to lick it clean and I wouldn’t have blamed him one bit. Crispy chicken: I’m gunna let you in on a little secret, unless it’s fried chicken, I don’t order chicken in restaurants. I’m usually just so unimpressed. But this was something special. The skin was perfectly crispy and reminded me of chicharons. The meat itself was tender and juicy. The truffled parsnip purée was a little bit of a letdown for me. There wasn’t a great deal of it and the parsnip seemed to be a little bitter. Other than that the dish was perfect. I especially liked the variety of mushrooms on the gravy. Spiced fries: Super crispy and addicting. We couldn’t keep our hands off these fries and the taragon aioli. It was delicious. Peach and fig pie: I hate pie crust. It’s dry and bland and usually just yuck. But, this one made me bite my tongue. The crust was flaky and moist and there wasn’t a hint of it being dry. The fruit was perfectly sweet and creamy and it was just perfect. The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere were all top notch. If you’re looking for a place to celebrate or splurge, look no further. Our bill with 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrées, a side, a dessert, and a coffee came to $ 150. Reasonable considering the quality and expertise. I look forward to trying more of their menu items when the season and menu changes.

As a seafood hunter, I have been considering visiting this place for long; finally got the chance to enjoy it together with my middle school classmates came to visit me. The three of us got bass, bass and char. Personally I liked the char better, especially it had citrus and salad accompanying. Strongly suggest the grilled corn with spicy sauce. It was not spicy at all, yet the corn was juicy. Too bad we were too full to give a shot on their dessert… very attentive service on the other hand, our waitress always came by and asked what else we needed. Given the inner décor, the price was a bit expensive, yet food quality has provided a perfect explanation!

The Quick: Seasonal and healthy entrees, complemented by fantastic service. This homey and romantic spot in the West Village is sure to warm your heart while simultaneously breaking the bank. The Details: Market Table features a small menu that changes according to the season and offers something for everyone’s taste buds. Overall the menu was packed with flavorful and fairly healthy options. My boyfriend and I split the lamb cheek and pork tenderloin; after hearing we were splitting, our waitress brought us each one large plate with half of each entrée for our convenience. Extra points in my book. The lamb cheek absolutely stole the show perfectly cooked and seasoned. The calamari appetizer was also extremely flavorful and was cooked in a different spice that your average Italian calamari. Everything we have is very good, but I was not blown away by any dish. That being said, the service was incredible, the restaurant is romantic and offered perfect people watching opportunities. I will absolutely be back in the fall to try the new menu. The Damage: ~$ 100 + tip for 2 entrees, an appetizer, a market side, and one beer. I thought it was a little much for what we had, but still good.

Market Table’s FRESH seasonal fare was the perfect dinner to celebrate the start of spring(this review is long delayed)! love the tall windows welcoming the sunlight although everything was cooked nicely, I do think the dishes were a BIT pricey. but then again its NYC —complimentary bread: nothing too special but loved the olive oil for dipping! —grilled arctic char w/cauliflower: crispy skin & they cook it to medium rare yumM —spiced long island duck: also cooked so well! —sauteed flounder w/artichoke & spring peas: my least favorite of the entrees we ordered since the olive spread was too sour. the flounder was good but nothing special —quinoa hush puppies: MMmm… not super crispy but so light that we really enjoyed this take on hush puppies. yummy dipping sauce too! so CUTE that your bill comes in a booklet where they ask you to write them notes! NOTE: they also have a bar area if you’re up for a more casual meal/drink
