Came here for the oyster happy hour. Although cocktails are not on the happy hour menu, I started with the Vesper. The one positive about the drink that it was boozy, but overall, it did NOT taste good. Not worth the $ 15. The oysters were good for the $ 1 happy hour, and there was a decent selection of wines on the HH menu as well($ 8). The service was a bit off. It was friendly when I was sitting at the bar while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. The server for our table was also attentive and friendly. When we ordered our second round of oysters, he took our plates but didn’t bring us new ones. Thankfully, they weren’t completely necessary since we just got some oysters, but it was slightly odd. Later, an older man in a baggy suit came by and took our menu without a word(when we had asked our server if we could keep one). It wasn’t a huge deal, but he later returned when we wanted to order more drinks and was very curt and rude. He also expressed his exasperation/annoyance when all I did was ask to use the Unilocal check-in deal for a free glass of wine if we spent over $ 25(which at that point, we had exceeded considerably). I don’t appreciate or understand the attitude when all I was doing was asking to redeem it. I doubt I would come back. There are more than enough oyster happy hours in the city with better deals and service.

Yooooooo! You gotta check this place out! This hotel, owned and operated by the creators of the Stanford Prison Experiment, gives you an exclusive inside look into what cancer feels like! Have you ever wondered what a Baz Lurman-directed The Shining would look like? This is your place! Have you ever wondered what happens on Werner Herzog’s brain? Come here! Believe in God? This will change that! Enjoy that feeling where you get hit in the head and you’re very dizzy but can also kind of taste blood in your mouth? Get here now! Want to have your Leaving Las Vegas moment without the exciting scenes? This is the place! On the real, friends, you gotta check out this spot. It’s so atrocious in every way. It’s the living embodiment of that Wikipedia page about the German serial killer you wish you hadn’t read. It’s your drunk friend who demands to put on a song and then stops the music to load a YouTube video with an ad. It’s your uncle telling you he’ll make everyone dinner and then getting wasted before they all arrive and just telling people where the kitchen is. It’s everything. It’s the Big Bang of misery and it all swirls together into a horrible, beautiful mess. I shed a tear as I left. Was I happy I would never return? Was I sad I’ll never have a human experience to equal that one ever again? Were my eyes strained because they turned off all the lights randomly at one point? I may never know. But maybe that’s okay. Maybe. Burger was overcooked.

A little bit of a maze to figure out exactly what door and what stair to take to reach the café area for brunch, but once you’ve figured that out, I definitely can recommend the Weekend Punch Brunch with the Basque Omelette. Fresh Flavors and ingredients that were rich but not heavy, and perfectly filling without too little or too much on the plate. A great place to bring friends at 11:30am for brunch when every other brunch place in the city is too packed! I was seated immediately and the tables have plenty of space so that you don’t feel you’re on top of your neighbors.

Staying at this hotel and was on my way out for dinner when the oyster happy hour billboard caught my attention. Had s seat in the lounge and was served by the most delightful man. The bar menu was perfect. Oysters cold and salty served with both cocktail and mignonette sauce. Grilled octopus in a squid ink alioli sauce. Finished off with chocolate crepes served with cherries and pistachio ice cream. Beautiful up of cappuccino. And the perfect ending. When I told him my name was mary he sang to me in Islam translated to oh life.

just when i thought it could not get any better, i am blown away by the new twist on Chicken Fricassee. it was already my favorite dish in all of Manhattan and now they stepped it up a notch! Out with the garlic bread and in with a Southwestern twist. Chef Scott and Chef Laura thinned the sauce into a magic potion i kept spooning into my mouth between tender morsels of Chicken and root vegatables. Basil leaves, red pepper, garlic and WOW! Folks it is fhat good! i lived and worked in France so this is no idle chatter. The wine choices by the glass were only OK. my only complaint.

Came here for their Punch Brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I’ll start out by saying that the space is absolutely beautiful, the«restaurant» is tastefully decorated and simply, with really good lighting. We got there around 1:30 it was pretty empty so we were seated immediately. We were waiting for the rest of our party to find parking and the waitress came over a few times to check on us. 2 of us got the Croque Madame, another the fish and chips and another the shrimp benedict. The sandwiches were mediocre and greasy, but the fries were really good. No one else was blown away by their food. We also tried out both punches, the sangria one was pretty tasty. We were a little annoyed when the bill came, not realizing we would be charged $ 9 for a handful of fries… but, oh well. Definitely want to come back to experience dinner. Another thing, it was strange jamming to Fetty Wap and Drake«considering» «the» «clientele»(emphasis, my own) but, I didn’t mind.

2.5– so I went here for the pulsd deal for brunch and had an okay time. Be aware the food is not great — the eggs Benedict was fine but not wonderful. The main reason to go is the punch. We were seated right away and always had good service but the food was just not good. The food was greasy but if you’re food standard isn’t high, try it out. I would also you don’t need to make a reservation– if you do, you may have the GM call you three times. It’s a bit much.

I came here for brunch last weekend and it was HORRENDOUS!!! The service was despicable. It took extremely long to get our drinks and after our food was brought to the table we asked for ketchup which took about 45 minutes to get(and thats with a mistake on two of the drink orders) ! The waitress, named Gabriela(who looked like she was dazed and confused the entire time) kept saying that she was«very busy» but there were only 3 other tables that were there having brunch, and another waitress working as well! The food was mediocre, nothing amazing and definitely not worth the cost. When it came time to pay we payed with multiple cards, after I left the place I recieved a notification that I was charged an extra $ 14 on my card. I went back in and spoke to a young girl named Alex? who claimed to be a «manager» but had no idea what she was talking about and looked lost and confused. She told me that it was normal to get charged an extra fee on american express… unheard of, especially not a $ 14 fee. I use my Amex all the time and never once heard that. I called Amex that same day, to which they told me NEVER happens and they aren’t sure why the place charged an extra $ 14. I was told to watch the payment as it was still pending. This morning I checked my statement and the restaurant charged me $ 150OVER the amount that I was actually supposed to pay. I opened up a dispute and thankfully Amex is always on their customers side. Having to go thru all of that and the HORRIBLE waitress service as well as customer service was so extremely unpleasant. I will never go back to this place and would never recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants in NYC that are amazing, this is definitely NOT one of them. Do yourself a favor and find another place to dine.

Don’t believe the $ 1 oyster happy hour special. We came here at 7 pm for the $ 1 oyster happy hour that supposedly goes from 5 to 8 and was prominently advertised at the entrance to the bar. After ordering overpriced drinks we asked for a dozen oysters, and were told that they were not honoring the happy hour special because of a wedding that evening. The waiter and manager casually remarked, «sorry,» and made no effort to make up for it. When I pointed out that there is a giant chalkboard sign outside the bar advertising the special, we were nonchalantly told that it shouldn’t be out there. Just terrible, awful customer service. Huge disappointment. Too bad you can’t give less than one star.

I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, but… Despite having confirmed a reservation for four, the hostess had no record of our reservation however was able to seat us anyway. The space itself was nice — there was a good vibe with a DJ spinning at the side. However we were seated in a side room with no atmosphere. If possible, ask to be seated in the main room. We all opted for the punch brunch with a choice of entrée plus unlimited cocktails — there were two drinks to choose from. We started with the rum punch. They bought a pitcher to the table quickly. Unfortunately the drink was overly sweet to the point of almost being undrinkable. I managed to finish one glass however a couple of my friends could not do that and asked the waitress if we could switch over to the sangria. The Sangria was actually worse! It tasted like some sort of cough medicine so we put it to the side. Our entrees arrived. The food was OK but definitely nothing special — I would say average — not bad but definitely nothing that you couldn’t whip up at home. We asked our waitress if she could possibly serve a pitcher of the rum punch without as much sugar so that it wouldn’t be as sweet. She said she would ask and shortly returned with a new pitcher for us. She then stated that because it had been made specially, it would be an additional $ 18. We were completely shocked with what she said and said that surely couldn’t be the case since we were paying for ‘unlimited’ brumch. She then responded by saying ‘sorry my English isn’t good’ — which is strange as she had an American accent and had managed just fine up until that point. She said she would go an check with her manager. Some time passed with no sign of the waitress and we decided we were ready to leave. We had purchased vouchers which covered the cost of the meal less tip. Once we had settled this up we left a 20% tip in cash on the table and got up to leave. As we were leaving the waitress stopped us in the middle of the dining room and asked why we didn’t want the drink as her manager decided to comp it to us. She then said in a loud voice in front of all the other patrons ’ Was my service bad? Was my service bad??’ I explained that wasn’t the reason we were leaving — we thought the food was average and the drinks horrible and by this point the meal was over and we were ready to leave. She then proceeded to tell me ‘But you just had a $ 200 meal, you have to tip on that price, was my service bad?’ I explained to her we all got the $ 29 brunch which totals $ 116 which was paid for and we had left a 20% tip on the table. She then started rambling about we hadn’t paid for our $ 3 coffee but I guess the look on my face made her realize she should stop right there and I walked out. Disappointed from the moment we walked in and it just went downhill. Will never return.

I remember the Unilocal elite event here years ago! Quite a beautiful space in a gorgeous hotel. I come here for a Brazilian night on Sundays and a Brasil loves Dominican Republic night on Saturdays. The only problem with this place is the damn bar. It’s rather small, usually understaffed, so it takes forever to get a drink there. Also, haven’t you been in the game long enough to know to put away ALL bar stools to avoid people sitting there and blocking actual drinkers? Apart from that, and the occasional sound system issues, I do like the place.

Came here for my birthday dinner, as my boyfriend made reservations. I found myself admiring the architecture of the building a few days prior(my job is located very close to this spot), before even realizing that we would be stopping by for dinner! The interior of the restaurant is also beautiful as well– it is a very intimate spot, perfect for a date night. The waiter was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire dinner. We ordered the oysters and grilled Caesar salad as appetizers, and the cod and salmon as entrees. All of the food was amazing– but I do have to recommend the cod above all else! We ordered the chocolate crepes for dessert– just the cherry on top of an amazing experience!

Came here on a Gilt voucher for their«punch brunch» and I really can’t say anything good about this place other than the staff were pleasant. There really wasn’t much in the way of service and this is going to sound weird, but even the water wasn’t very good. The punches they offered were gross, there was a cranberry vodka one which was horribly watered down and a cider one which was unbearably sweet. We ordered the Pain Brûlée and the Croque Madame. The Brûlée wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either and definitely isn’t worth the money. It seems much more a dessert than a suitable meal. The Croque Madame seemed like it was microwaved from a frozen state. I ordered a side of bacon and eggs with our meal also. The bacon looked like(and tasted like) it was made 6 days prior and has been under a heat lamp since and the eggs seemed to be made out of what an egg mcmuffin eggs are made of. This place was empty and rightfully so. The food is abhorrent and the drinks are equally gross. Avoid this place at all costs. Even on a Gilt Voucher it’s a complete waste of money. Literally anywhere else is a better option for brunch.

I went for the HH which is $ 1 oysters and drink specials. Make sure you sit upstairs for the happy hour because it’s not applicable downstairs. Didn’t try any of the other food, looked good though. Sat at the bar and bar tender was a bit snobby. Acted like he was better than us and that serving was below him but that he’d make an exception. Prosecco was good and really saved it for me, as they oysters on special were a local rocky variety and nothing amazing.

Came here with three friends on a Friday around 5:30pm for their $ 1 oyster happy hour. Their oyster bar, located on the second level, was quiet with maybe two other tables occupied as the evening had just begun. We ordered four dozen oysters, the Burger Millesime, and a side of fries. We would have definitely wanted to order other things on the menu but weren’t hungry enough and were going to dinner after, so we just stuck with the burger and fries. Wasn’t too impressed with the burger; the bun was too thick relative to the rest of the burger, but I appreciated that it was whole wheat. Fries were well seasoned and the oysters were great. I’d come back for oyster happy hour again as well as to try other food on the menu. Taste | 3.5 Atmosphere | 4 Presentation | 3 Service | 4 OVERALL | 3.5

Staying at carlton hotel on madison and 28th and the hotel manger recommended the millesime restaurant. I was very disappointed about the menu!!! The only silver-lining was joe jones. He was very accommodating and tried to help with finding food for me. Joe is Definitely an asset to the establishment. The night became worse when we went to the bar downstairs when the bartender with the the ponytail and beard told us that we needed to leave as the bar closes at 12midnight. I was informed that the hours were until 1am. I noticed that there was a group of people that were allowed to stay which i felt was of terrible taste when one is paying 319.00 a night. When i approached the manager Kent to inform him of the situation his response was that The restaurant is separate from the establishment. I will definitely not recommended this hotel to my contacts

Here’s probably the most important tip — if you want oysters, go to the upstairs bar. They have the same cocktail menu downstairs, but the downstairs bar is dark and depressing with uncomfortable seating. Nice bartender though. Upstairs is a balcony with a pretty skylight, and comfortable seating. Had some east coast oysters at $ 1 apiece. They were a-okay. The drinks however, could’ve been much better. Did a spicy tequila drink and their version of the James Bond martini. Both were okay, but not $ 15 good. They sure add up after two rounds. Cute little Tabasco bottles for the oysters though.

Beautiful place Millesime is. Service was prompt, the décor is glamorous, and there’s hand moisturizer in the bathrooms! Hashtag semi-upscale. I came here at 11:30am(when brunch opens) with a friend and there was just one other party having brunch. Other than this very silent group of girls, Millesime was quiet. So I’d advise against arranging large brunch parties here because it doesn’t have that festive atmosphere. They have a $ 39 deal called Punch Brunch, but they also have a variety of brunchy things. My friend got the crème brûlée pain perdue($ 15) and I got the cast oven frittata($ 15) and a very overpriced and lukewarm cup of coffee($ 5). We both loved our food, but I felt badly because my portion was much bigger and more filling than his! I’ll just say that if you want more bang for your buck, choose the frittata.

What an amazing space. I visited this establishment on a Thursday night because my friend informed me they have live jazz music and a great happy hour on wine. Arrived around 8pm and it was not crowded at all. It is a very dimely lit space that is very laid back and inviting. They have a bar menu they offer you but you are able to select from the full menu. I ordered the Saffron Rigatoni and it was absolutely divine. I ordered the small plate and I was still hungry. Next time I know to order the larger portion. The staff at this business was extremely attentive and kind as well. Not once did I have locate our waiter. He was always two steps ahead of what we needed. This is a great spot if you are wanting a quite intimate dinner or just to grab drinks and listen to live music. I will be returning to this spot SOON!

So after a long night out and only 3 hours of sleep, my friends and I decided to do boozy brunch at Millesime because we like to make bad decisions. Turned out to actually be a pretty great decision, however, as I may have found one of my new favorite brunch places. Seeing as how we were all there for the punch brunch, our waitress immediately brought out a pitcher of both flavors – Apple Cider Rum and Prissy’s Punch – for us to taste. I loved both, but would prob give my ultimate vote to that Apple Cider Rum. Love me some hard cider. While it may seem like the drinks aren’t too strong, don’t be fooled like me. Two glasses in and I was already red as a tomato #asianproblems. SIGH. Those drankz are deceptively strong! Although I do wish there were more options for food, I was pleased with my Eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached perfectly and the bacon was delicious. I also actually enjoyed the home fries, which was a pleasant surprise, since I am usually super picky with them. After 2 pitchers in, we decided it was finally time to cut ourselves off and get the check. We had already thought finding the restaurant was a tad bit difficult, so just imagine how much more we struggled getting out. When we finally did make it out, we were still drunk and giddy and really just super excited to come back soon for our next punch brunch.

Came here for weekend brunch and what a great place for brunch — although I think this place is a bit more expensive than at a typical NYC brunch place — $ 35 vs $ 29/30ish at other comparable places. However, the price was definitely worth it as the place is BEAUTIFUL, it was not crowded at all and the food and service were amazing. The restaurant is inside the Carlton Hotel which makes getting there a bit of a maze. I entered the hotel, went downstairs, then went into the restaurant and up the stairs to the restaurant. The setting was really nice as all the tables were relatively distanced from each other which is such a RARE find in NYC where tables and customers are typically stacked on top of each other. Once punch brunch was ordered, the server automatically brought out both pitchers of the apple cider rum and the prissy punch. Our group ended up drinking mostly the prissy punch(4 pitchers!). I got the eggs benedict which was good. The home fries were perfectly crispy. And I also shared the Caesar salad which was a very interesting take on the typical Caesar salad and surprisingly good. It was heads of mini romaine leaves that were baked with a cheese crumble and topped with a very small thin slice of smoked cod and baked bread. The combination of those items worked really well for the dish. The server was also great about refilling the pitchers and waters. Highly recommended!

Kind of came here by accident, was looking for a place to eat and the place we were thinking of had closed. Saw that they had $ 1 Oysters, so decided to stop in. We ordered 6 oysters of $ 1 each. They were ok, nothing special, not particularly big. The sauce that came for it did help. My friend wasnt that impressed with it and only ate a couple of them. Thought it wasnt cleaned well. Appetizers — Sea Scallop Capaccio — I enjoyed this dish, and it is prepared raw. My friend didnt enjoy it much. Entrees — Waygu Flatiron Steak — This steak is only about 8 oz, and expensive at $ 42. I will say though that it was delicious and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

My usual brunch crew(sans one, as she is in Korea) went here for drunch(drunk brunch) on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is romantic and grand… it’s spacious and the tables aren’t shoved right on top of each other. It wasn’t overly crowded where we sat, although I’m pretty sure there was a rather large party in the other room. Either way, we had a pleasant time and were able to hold a steady conversation without having to shout over blaring music. Also, our server was attentive and prompt. Food was pretty good. I had the Eggs Benedict, which was perfectly done and delicious. We ordered the Elderflower Lychee Sangria to share and it was awesome. I would recommend this place for a drunch. Good crowd, good service and elegant atmosphere.
