I used to be a patron here a few years back. They def expanded their menu since. Drink selection seemed larger then. Drink menu consists of sangrias, a few cocktails and a limited wine selection. Small place but the atmosphere is intimate and cozy. Prices are fairly reasonable plus they have a great happy hour deal! Overall, I’d give the place three stars but their bartender Abby is adds a +1. Abby is absolutely friendly and hilarious! Def making this one of my regular joints again.

The establishment was cute! It was very small and intimate with a very comfortable vibe. We got the peach, white wine sangria($ 14), in a draft glass. It was delicious and a lot stronger than expected, but definitely way too pricey for what it was. The bartender literally just poured it from a beverage dispenser with a spigot and cut a slice of lemon for it. On the other hand, the bartender was nice – quiet and just there to do her job and the establishment was very relaxed. Cute, but I don’t know if I’d go out of my way to revisit.

What a great find. Wonderful sangria and a friendly staff. I can’t wait to go back to try some of the baked goods.

LOVE this place. I’ve been coming here for perhaps 4 years??? Not so often anymore since I moved, but I love the relaxed and quiet feel of this place. I stop by to grab a morning coffee, or spend a slow afternoon here, or grab wine at night. It’s a very small intimate café for real locals. I think they’re somehow related to the little shop on Lafayette street, but the concept is different and doesn’t beat this place :)

My friends and I love coming to this neighborhood spot. The breakfast is always good, the staff is super sweet and they have a great outside table for people watching. My only complaint, I often bring my computer to work there, and the wifi doesn’t reach outside and is sometimes slower than I’d like.

We were looking for outdoor seating to grab a drink, and we happily stumbled upon Oro. Great sangria! Pitchers were around $ 30 or so, I believe. Friendly, accommodating service.

Second time coming here and service was great because the bartender was so awesome. Cute, low key place especially the outdoor area.

So So awesome. Avocado Toast in the morning and a great happy hour meat and cheese board. You would never guess what’s inside due to the heavy italian influence in the neighborhood. I love it.

I stop by here on weekday mornings sometimes. The coffee is always delicious and the barista that’s usually here is really sweet! I get food sometimes(madeleines, croissant, pretzel bagel with lox) and have never been disappointed.

We were craving dessert after dinner. We were so cold and wanted something warm and sweet. We like the bar set up with aged dark wood and the bar with the fresh desserts made in house. We chose a chocolate carrot cake and a butter cream vanilla cupcake with raspberry filling. So delicious. We are definitely coming back again.

Oro is really wonderful. Very nice atmosphere and super super super friendly service. Everything about Oro felt genuine and comfortable. This summer I would camp out at the bar in an attempt to study. When I fell into despair with the MCAT material, I would shift from coffee to the sangria they offered. The barista(I never got your name!) was one of the coolest people I’ve ever met – thank you for kicking my butt to study! I will definitely stop by Oro everytime I visit New York! It felt really homey in the midst of the big city.

I love Oro! I’ve been coming here for years and it’s one of my favorite spots in the area. The coffee is good(Counter Culture) and everyone who works here is amazing. The food menu is limited but good, their quiche and scones are some of my favorite items. In the evenings they have a great happy hour on their wine, beer, and sangria; if you’re lucky you’ll be served by Abby, she’s the best! $ 10 credit card minimum :)

I had dim sum earlier and needed something small to fill me up. I was lucky to get a table as this place is very small. The lady gave me a bottle of tap water and glass and came back later for my order. That was very nice touch. I got the espresso and a croissant. The espresso was mean and packed a punch, it definitely woke me up. The croissant was pretty good. I’m no croissant expert but I think it tasted better than the ones from Costco and BJ’s. It was a softer showing me that it was not stale. I’d definitely come back to try other baked goods and kill more time. I’m not sure if Wifi is available because It would be nice to have to aid in my Clash of Clan addiction.

So in desperate need of my coffee fix and after finding a recommended coffee bar somewhere nearby only to find it was closed despite their Unilocal page showing that we were their before closing, we stumbled across this place. Much to my relief, they have lots of coffee, lol! We were greeted by a really cool and sweet guy named David who was very laid-back and seemed comfortable and at ease in his position; I especially liked that about him because it shows he loves his job which meant my coffee was going to be good. One of the things that threw me back is the fact that you hear about how rude people in NY are regardless if whether on the street or employees at business, and the David was just the coolest guy we had met at this point. We made conversation with him, and he seemed genuinely interested in conversing. He is definitely very professional, has excellent people skills and customer service. We ordered our fave Cortados because as many know about me, I judge coffee shops based on their Cortados. I have got to say these Cortados were amazing, strong but not overpowering, bitter or acidic; these reminded me of our trips to Bobalu in Austin and definitely made me a very happy camper. The coffee was smooth, deep, rich and smokey with just the right touch of milk; my birthday was ending on a great note. I was drawn to these beautiful jars with different little goodies, but my eyes were fixated on these spectacular fluffy Madeleines and had to have one; am I ever glad I did too. They were just the right amount of sweetness that complimented my drink. This place is small, but not confined, has a great vibe and relaxing atmosphere. Another great thing was they have outlets in the front just under the window which was perfect because both our phones were nearly dead! We stayed for about 45 min or so, enjoyed a couple cortados and got enough juice for our phones to get on with the rest of our trek. I look forward to our next adventure to NYC because I want to come back and hope David is there again.

We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? And stories that can be told in the quaint enjoyable, friendly, potential romantic coffee date night spot. You can sit at the bar with drink in hand or the snug tables under candle light. The drinks are good with interesting mixes but if beer is your thing they got that too. Want a meal? They got that also. Need a snack or dessert as lady and the tramp gazes. Forks bumps. Eyes pining. Oh, yes. Oh yes. I was referring to the decadent Framboise Cognac Chocolate Triffle. Oh, the date? Next fish in the sea.

Great space… although extremely intimate. So so so quiet during a late afternoon coffee break. Lattes are pretty good though it was served in a cup with no handle. Had a splendid time looking extremely awkward drinking it while holding it with both hands. I also had a chocolate madeleine — yumm-o buttery goodness. Staff are pretty friendly, though the place isn’t that big. I was too afraid to make sudden movements because I could/would probably tear the whole place apart. That or… destroy the complimentary glass bottle of water.

I love this wonderful lifesaving little spot around the corner. I kicked off my month in NYC fresh off a red-eye from the West Coast, and rolled into Oro shortly after opening one Friday morning. Feeling as one does after a lengthy flight, no sleep, and maneuvering suitcases through morning rush hour at Penn Station… A few minutes later with my iced americano and tomato-cheese breakfast quiche on the table in front of me, I forgot any of that had happened. Even at that barely coherent moment, I managed to file away for later reference that there are multiple sangrias steeping on the wall(something a pre-8 am visit doesn’t quite allow for), and I hope to explore their subtleties one evening quite soon. Quite. I’m thrilled that they open at 7 am so I can head in early whenever I need some great coffee and a quick friendly conversation to go with it. I’m admittedly a coffee elitist and so far Oro’s has been the best I’ve had in the neighborhood. I would walk a few blocks farther for better coffee, but fortunately there isn’t a need to. Oh, and the quiche! This isn’t like what you might imagine… Think a light, flaky crust that’s more along the lines of phyllo, and what’s inside is a beautifully scrumptiously flavorful mix of lovely light egg and rich roasted tomatoes. There are other quiches like ham and chive or smoked salmon, but I keep getting the same one because why wouldn’t I? Of course there are other requisite tempting breakfast pastries, but this is a good habit I want to keep.

Best neighborhood coffee/homework/hanging out place on earth.(I think) they bake most, of not all their pastries on premise and they serve Counter Culture coffee, which already tells you they pull espresso at a certain quality. Décor is rustic with wood and brick. Their blueberry chia muffins are delicious and not too sweet, and even their brownies are not sugary. I like that they’re kind of in between crumbly and soft. The carrot cake, while on the sweet side, is also very good. I haven’t tried, but they also serve dinner items and wine in the evening. Service is generally friendly and they’ll carry a conversation with you if you initiate, but leave you alone if you want, too. I usually read or do homework, though. They have internet!!! And pretty awesome seats. The only downside is that the receipt is not itemized, but… if you really want to know, you can ask? It reminds me of a place from back home and I love it. :) —- edit: Their granola is equally amazing. Super filling but not overly sweet. Mine had almond slivers and sunflower seedsssss. yum

Oro is a friendly café that has coffee and food and wine and sake and beer and Wi-Fi. They’ve got several tables out front and back, but they’re short on outlets[1], and I felt a bit violated paying $ 4.50 for freshly-squeezed orange juice. The OJ was rightfully delicious thankfully, and Oro scores major points for being open DURING A HURRICANE. I also listened to the most lovely of lovely Pandora stations ever — the«New Order» station. [1] Probably to discourage Internet squatters like me.
