I think of this place as the Chipotle of potatoes. Any style of potato you could dream up with all your favorite toppings. I’ve long said potatoes are one of the most versatile foods, so it’s a shame I didn’t think up this idea first! My only gripe is that sometimes I think the ingredients could be more evenly distributed across the entire dish, but I like this place.

Pretty damn delicious — great meal when you’re feeling like something fatty and carby and filling. Surprisingly not greasy, and tons of variety. I got the«I am therefore I yam» with some garlic aioli, chicken, sweet potato fries and few other toppings… very delicious and filling. Will definitely come back when I’m out in the area and need a late night snack. Their sweet potato cake pops(vanilla and cookies and cream) are equally as delicious. Seating area is clean and spacious, service is fast and friendly, prices are very reasonable, and close to the subway. I could see this place getting pretty packed but also having fast turnover. Overall a great find.

My friend had told me about this place and I was instantly thrilled! So we went and I found it fairly easy to order — thanks to its Chipotle style of ordering.(However, so many options can overwhelming for some people! But I’m not complaining. The more options, the better!) I ordered a mashed pie with chicken. I added tomatoes, scallions, mozzarella cheese, and truffle sauce. It was AMAZING! I’m a huge potato lover, so this may be bias, but I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want something different yet comforting. Sounds strange, I know, but you gotta believe me! Also, the staff was very friendly and the location was spotless. It was definitely a great experience.

I think Potatopia is just super cute! If you’re a fan of potatoes(who isn’t?!), be sure to check this place out — their menu offers build-your-own potato hits(you first start off by choosing a protein(oven roasted chicken, marinated sirloin steak, spiced beef, vegetarian chili, BBQ pulled pork, smokehouse bacon, or cajun shrimp), then you pick your potato(baked potato, baked sweet potato, mashed potatoes, tater tots, smashed red skins, thick-cut chips, shoestring fries, cajun curly fries, sweet potato crinkle cut fries, or waffle cut fries), toppings(such as marinated tomatoes, roasted mushrooms, hot pepper relish, parsley, fresh garlic, etc.), cheeses, and a sauce(like savory bacon aioli, greek yogurt honey, horseradish, BBQ, etc.)), or for those who are indecisive, you can try one of their signatures. I tried their Bacon Overload, which contained shoestring fries(regular fries), double smokehouse bacon(an overwhelming amount!), red onion slices, smoked gouda, and scallions; I swapped out the chipotle aioli for the garlic aioli, which was a great substitution — the fries were super crispy and hot, and the toppings were of massive amount. I really liked how this place takes the ‘bacon overload’ literally, as there was tons of bacon in it! The garlic aioli was creamy and was of a generous drizzle that there was enough for dipping opportunities for all the fries in the bowl. With a Unilocal check-in, you get a free soda, so make sure you take advantage of that! I loved the potato logo that they have(on the napkins and on the cups), and there is even a little pad where you can sketch your own ‘potato’ — AHAHAHA Staff here were super friendly, and there is plenty of counter/bar seating. If you’re craving for some potato-y goodness, check Potatopia out — you won’t be disappointed! :D +‘Bacon Overload’ — swap the chipotle aioli for the garlic aioli! +free soda with a Unilocal check-in +cute potato logo: D

Potatoes is Life!!! I love potatoes in everything, and so when I found this place I was stoked!!! First and foremost, this is a good spot to go to when you are HUNGRY. Not baby hungry(caps lock off) but HUNGRY, because the portion here is HUGE!!! I couldn’t finish half my plate and they put soooooooo much in it. I got the steak one(forgot what it was called, but it was the only one with steak in it). It was good. Not bomb. I would say from 1 – 10 it was a 5 ½. I like things to be simple, and they just put too much things in it that I couldn’t completely enjoy the tastes. It’s like… WTF did I just put in my mouth? And where the effff are the potatoes? I must say though, their potato chips is bomb. Will i come back here? Probably not. Do I recommend this place? If you have no other options.

So good. Friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. Delicious. Opens at eleven. I like that! I had sweet baked potato with bacon, cheddar, olives, and parsley. It’s a hot meal hit the spot this cold day. I’ll be back for real!

It’s like the Chipotle of the potato world. Honestly, just get what appeals to your eyes; there’s nothing exemplary. Buuuuut it just gets super sickening. I can’t eat this as an entire meal. The employees were nice! I like how they melt the cheese in the microwave before serving it to you. Check in for a free soda.

Decided to try this place out because I was in the neighborhood waiting for my boyfriend to get off his shift. I must say, I will definitely come back here. This is like a potato version of Chipotle. Love it! I was so confused on how the ordering works so I told the employee that my stay was my first time. He was so kind & welcoming. He introduced the process and the menu to me slowly and efficiently. What I really like the most about the male that helped me was, he was very patient with me. The staff team is so wonderful. They also offer free wifi! That’s a bonus, aha. The interior design is simple & adorable. There was a table in the center and tables on the wall. The food was fresh and delicious! I can’t wait to come back here and bring my friends to try this place out. I recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood :)

I just went to heaven. Their potatoes are delicious!!! The staff is super friendly! Need help? Just ask them, they are willing to explain it to you quite enthusiastically. This has just become my new favorite place. I originally put 5 stars but they repeatedly got my potatoes wrong… not once… not twice… sorry…that costs a star.

Maybe I wasn’t hungover enough when I came here? Taking the tried and true Chipotle method, but with everything… potato. I don’t really know how you can have a meal here and not feel completely gross afterwards. No balance and pure gluttony in play here. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want or need, but probably not when you go during your lunch break at work. I got fries piled high with taco toppings, but as my co-worker correctly warned me, you’ll be hungry not too many hours after you eat here. It has it’s place, and does it ok enough.

If Chipotle had babies with potatoes, Potatopia would be it. Their baked potato is the perfect meal for lunch/dinner/whenever, really. If you haven’t already, make sure to try their truffle aioli sauce! It just brings the whole bowl of potato goodness to the next level. Otherwise, you can ask to sample the sauces; the staff is very nice about it, don’t worry! Don’t forget to design your own potato on the entry forms they provide! Winner gets their personalized potato design enlarged and framed up on the wall. Cute!

A Utopian society will never work probably, but a Potatopian society… now here is something I can get behind and believe in. Come on people, this is the true American dream! A potato bar, and you can add as many unhealthy toppings and sauces as you want? I think every potential presidential candidate should have to answer, «If you were to eat lunch at Potatopia, what would be your course of action and plan of attack?» Obviously, any candidate who picks the sweet potato fries can’t be trusted. But seriously, this place is awesome. You pick your type of potatoes,(I chose smashed red skin potatoes.) Then a meat/protein if you want it. Then you choose some toppings, the option to toast your bowl of goodness, and finally, a sauce! Cheese, potatoes, creamy sauce, can’t go wrong! Your stomach will absolutely hate you after this meal, but it’s worth it! Convenient, quick, and a decent price.

Consider this the French Fry land with a Chipotle Layout. I came here for the first time on National French Fry Day with my best friend and it was 50% off my meal which equaled to $ 4.50 for dinner in the city. Thats a budget dinner right there! They have all the right toppings and every possible fry you can think of. I definitely come back!

A heaven for potato lovers, in chipotle-style dining. The staff were really friendly and helpful towards first timers, so don’t be afraid to ASK, ASK, ASK! Pro Tip: get the truffle aioli, it’s the best!

Odd concept, but it works. I had been craving a baked potato for a while and this hit the spot. I got the steakhouse but got it on a baked potato rather than the smashed potatoes. Delicious. My only complaint was the horseradish was borderline obnoxiously strong and that for some weird reason the gravy was cold. Everything else was sufficiently warm though… $ 10 is a pretty penny for what amounts to a loaded baked potato on steroids but it did fill me up so there’s that.

I love the concept! Not a big fan of potatoes but love the concept! They have a deal on some site $ 20 for $ 10 so we got it to try out a few options. I created my own with a sweet potato base and loads of veggies. Hubby had one with steak and fried chunks of potatoes. We also shared sweet potatoes wedge fries topped with cheese and mushroom. You can’t go wrong haha. Carbs topped with cheese and meat. You seriously can’t go wrong. Staff is really nice and whatever you get is huge so you’ll have leftovers! Enjoy!

Potatopia NY Manhattan West Village 12pm 23rd May 2015 Five Stars So it’s chipotle with potatoes instead of rice and beans. I opted for the baked sweet potato with chicken, jalapeños, corn, tomatoes, broccoli, and garlic plus Asiago/Parmesan Cheese. They microwave it so the cheese melts. I also got sour cream. I wasn’t sure about the combination because I like all of those things individually but really sure how sweet potatoes and cheese work together. Fortunately it was beyond delicious.

*** So filling, Variety of potato combinations, Friendly staff *** There is a HUGE selection of menu items to choose from. They seriously have potatoes in every form you can think of — baked, fried, mashed, etc. There are great combinations and you can substitute dressing or toppings. Very delicious and filling!

Ever since my favorite french fry place burned down(RIP Pomme Frites), I’ve been scrambling to find a replacement. I stumbled upon Potatopia on Unilocal one day and decided to try it out since I love potatoes and it really appealed to me. So I got here at around 3pm and there was only one person eating inside. Overall this place is basically a potato version of Chipotle. First you decide which potato base you want(red skin, mashed, etc.) and then you choose the toppings that you want on top. The other option is to choose one of their signature creations which is what I did. Service, for the most part, was nice but kind of slow. The place seems clean. Smashed Hit– This was the signature creation that I got and it comes with grilled chicken, scallions, smashed potato, and onion. On paper, this sounds like a mouthwatering masterpiece but in reality, I did not like it as much as I would’ve liked to. The potatoes were way too salty and the cheese on top did not help with that… The cheese also formed a separate later on top so it didn’t mix well with the potatoes. The scallions and onions did nothing to elevate the dish. The portion of the grilled chicken was very little and the pieces were microscopic… I really thought I was going to fall in love with this place but I actually ended up fearing for my health since its such a heavy and salty meal. Because it didn’t taste that good, was kind of expensive($ 9), and unhealthy, I don’t think I’ll be back…

So you know how every now and then you just crave a baked potato? No? Just me? Well talk about a perfect spot if you do. A potato lover’s dream. Potatopia has potatoes in every form imaginable, baked, fried, mashed and in fry form(waffle or regular), in sweet potato or regular. If you dream it, it’s possible. They also have some pretty killer«signature dishes» that you can alter as you wish. This place is kind of like a fro-yo bar. You choose your base(aka type of potato) and then you can load it on with as many toppings as you desire and then put on your sauces as well. The portions are massive. Today I thought I wanted just a little baked potato. The little baked potato took up the entire container and then once it was topped as ordered, it was a mound of food. Talk about loaded baked potato. Granted, it’s an expensive baked potato, but it’s filling! The other time I was here I got mashed potatoes with a ton of veggies. Today I went meat. Pulled pork to be exact. It was quite tasty! Seating is minimal, but while I was there I’d estimate that 50% of the patrons were getting their orders to go. Really though, this place is unique and clever and can fulfill any type of potato-based craving!
