Take. Out. Of. Town. Guests. Here. Great views. Amazing drinks. Better to drink, dress cute, & take in the views than wait in line with 253748475 tourists & pay the same amount for the same views, if not more. Problem & night solved. (Be aware, it’s a maze & a million elevators to take up to the place)

This place offers a breathtaking view of the city! Very beautiful place, great food! It’s literally the same view you get from Top of the Rock. I highly recommend it although it can be a little pricey but is totally worth it.

Top of the Rock for $ 32, without a drink? SixtyFive for $ 20 – 25, with a drink, and just two floors below of Top of the Rock(65th floor vs 67th)? I liked option 2 better. We were gonna go on the Top of the Rock Observatory Deck when I accidentally discovered this place! It was probably one of the best decision for our NYC trip. Loved the view, and it’s the same view you’ll get from paying $ 32 to get up an elevator, minus the tourist-y crowd. Make sure you’re somewhat decently dressed when you come to this rooftop bar, though. It’s an upscale rooftop bar, with multiple hosts greeting you from the lobby of the building, up to the elevators, and into the bar. Grab a drink from the bar, or if it’s packed, get a table and get a drink then go outside for the majestic view of the city. Yes, drinks are pricey. But worth.(if you’re really ballin’ on a budget, they do have a $ 14 glass of rosé)… you don’t wanna come here and not order a drink.

Came here 01⁄720167p for birthday drinks & what an amazing wonderful venue. The view is far better than anything any of the very good photos here describe, you get the same view as Top of the Rock with the amazing splendid view which makes 1 so proud to be a human, American, New Yorker, anything, you’ll be glad you’re there period. As for the drinks, just great, everything. Even the virgin pear water with ginger snaps is grand. It’s super pricey but you get what you pay for. I had the Russeldorf beer from Cologne, Germany which was great. I feel that they super chill it so that it stays extra cold even after a while. The tips many say are all true: don’t pay $ 30 for Top of the Rock when you can come here, pay either nothing at all or for some of the rather pricey cocktails($ 18) though there are $ 10 beers which are still of a fine quality & selection. There’s a sushi bar here which looked very quite since the prices are the top of the line($ 7/piece, $ 22/roll type). The reserved tables on the periphery of the interior have a 2 drinks/person or $ 50/person minimum which 1 can easily skip by patronizing the balcony, the interior standing tables or no table at all. The coat check on the mezzanine isn’t required, as guilty or self-conscious as 1 might feel skipping it. The staff are all amazingly perfectly courteous, thoughtful, helpful, and coiffed/dressed. Six stars, if I could.

Bar/Lounge on the 65th floor with an amazing outdoor view of NYC! I initially came to the Rockefeller Building for the Top of the Rock. I saw the hostess for the Rainbow Room in the lobby before making it to the elevators. I decided to give the bar a shot. Next thing I know, I’m up on the 65th floor bar sipping on bourbon and enjoying the view of the city. This place is a win in my books. –Yes, cocktails are pricey but so straight or get a beer if you want something cheaper. –Bring a coat if you plan on going outside. –Skip the lines and the admission for the rock and come here for a drink instead. –Service is Great!

Great experience. We went on a Friday night(11.6) arriving around 6pm. There was a 45 min wait for a table, and so we went to the bar for a pre-dinner beverage. The wait for a drink was about 20 – 30 minutes, as after we got our drinks we went outside to enjoy the view for only about 5 – 10 minutes until our table was ready. The view was great, but windy outside. Food was tasty but small plates, drinks were good and service was also good. Only down side was we ordered a sushi roll later in our meal and it took a long time to get to us. We had beer, champagne, and 2 bourbon cocktails. Chicken and Ham croquettes, parm pizza, tuna tacos(which are VERY small) and a sushi roll. And then my boyfriend proposed outside after dinner! This place will always be a happy place for me!

Awesome! If you get a clear night, the views are fantastic. A reservation requires that you fill out a form and guarantee a min of 50pp(which is easy to reach considering their drink/food prices). Service is attentive, food is delicious and drinks are on point. I think this is an awesome spot for a date!!! Would def recommend for tourists and locals alike!

I loved the service here. I am from DC and am used to being overcharged for tourist frequented places, but do not fear– the tourist vibe was no where to be found here and I did not feel overcharged. I was here during NYFW, so maybe the gorgeous people add towards my nostalgia right now but between the views, the employees, the drinks, and the patrons this place would be my quick drink spot if I lived here. The service was impeccable. You can get to the escalators up to the elevator from which ever side of the building you enter, they have security guards(I think that’s what they are anyway) that are more than willing to help with directions to the escalator. At the top of the escalator you’re greeted by a coat check, security guard(official one this time) and hostess. At this point I had to give up my Evian water bottle. I proceeded up the long but relatively quick elevator ride and I was greeted by even more hosts. But man, they must hire only pretty people. The host and hostesses were very accommodating. A private party was going on that took up some prime real estate at SixtyFive for dinner views so I opted for the crowded bar on a Thursday night at 6PM. They do not just point you to the bar, they escort you there and helped me get a menu! However in hindsight, this bar is VERY crowded at 8 when I left. So at 6PM at least I could get face time with a bartender, at 8 you’re fighting through a sea of people. After two Vodka cocktails and $ 50 later I was tired of standing, so I asked for a table. The host informed/warned me that another drink would be required at the table or food. I appreciated the heads up although it was unnecessary for me as the starters here looked amazing! I walked outside for the breathtaking view while waiting for my glass of wine. Wow! Stunning at sunset. I wish they utilized the space facing Central Park better! The best views facing Midtown from outside were obstructed by the servers bustling in and out around a side door. They constantly were asking people to clear a path or move… there’s got to be a way to accommodate people that want the view and keep your kitchen entry clear… Red rope or something? My seat inside was perfect, facing downtown towards the river. The menu is limited but they cover all the best foods in a few short choices! Attire: Thursday @ 6PM in the late summer most people were in work attire. Not many dresses or full suits though. No one was in jeans, but I’m not sure if that’s because of a rule. I highly recommend you stop by for a drink, appetizer, dinner, or view.

Amazing! Skip the top of the rock, it’s crowd, and the fee. Come here for just as amazing views and a drink. Drinks are pricy, starting at, I want to say $ 18, but again, worth it for the view. Attire wasn’t too dressy, but you don’t want to look like a bum either. I didn’t try the food, so I can’t say anything about that. The ladies room is REALLY nice and there are vanities to touch up, and outlets to charge your phone or plug in your hair appliances. There was even a worker inside who kept things in order. Tip: Come during sunset to see both sunset and then the city lights!

Amazing view, great service and nice ambiance! I should mention this was a Monday night. Everyone was so friendly, from the doormen to the hostess. The outdoor area was reserved for another 30 minutes when I arrived. I ended up sitting inside but I believe it was better! My table was right against the window where they do not have tables, so my view was unobstructed. I had eaten earlier so I just ordered a glass of wine and the lime cheesecake brulee to go with my view. The dessert was decent, not the best but its not the reason I went. $ 25 for wine, dessert and no Top of the Rock tourists(like myself) crowding my view. You can’t beat that! Oh! And I’m a sucker for a nice restroom. It’s worth checking out! So beautiful and elegant, with thick napkins that had the Rainbow Rooms logo imprinted in gold lettering. *Two thumbs wayyy up!!* I plan to visit this place whenever I return to New York!

We received a tip off from a local to hit up Sixty Five rather than go through the Empire State Building song-and-dance. I’m so glad we went through with this! We arrived in the evening and the experience was breathtaking; panoramic views from the top of the city. Travelers note, though– there is a dress code and it is NOT open on Saturdays. Found both of those out the hard way, seeing as we ended up here on a whim(luckily hubby had a collared shirt to pop on real quick: P) Plan accordingly!

This place is too good to be real. Soon, everyone will know about SixtyFive and it’ll be impossible to get in like most other rooftops in Manhattan. For a $ 15 glass of wine(the most affordable on their menu), you can enjoy unparalleled views of Central Park and midtown to downtown Manhattan. Since you’re on Top of the Rock, there’s literally nothing blocking your view, except of course, the couple next to you taking anniversary selfies. I came around 6pm so I can view the sunset on the Hudson and get a glimpse of the city lit up beautifully at night. It was already slightly chilly in mid September out on the deck, so be sure to dress appropriately. The indoor is very nice as well if you’re more into that. Oh, and the bathroom smells glorious. Crowd consists of some tourists, older ladies and gents, and locals who discovered this place on Unilocal like I did. Definitely will be taking my out-of-town friends and family here.

Go here. Don’t want to spend the $ 25 on a cocktail? Settle on the $ 10 beer then. The view is beyond worth it. Doesn’t even make sense to pay admission and potentially wait in log queue at Top of The Rock when you have this place as an option. RIDICULOUS. Think twice before posting up at an available outside table though — think they require 2 drink minimum per person. Maybe don’t think twice if you plan to have 2 drinks anyway. But why sit when you can stand and gaze, walk to other side and stand and gaze? Wash, rinse, repeat.

Best Rooftop view of New York City. For me at least. Here’s why. So my good friend and I decided to spend 2 weeks in New York. I made an awesome itinerary that included a number of rooftop bars. I’m a sucker for outdoor drinking. I searched the Internet for the best and worst and it came down to SixtyFive and another popular place I won’t name. We ended up choosing SixtyFive because it’s not only an iconic place to say you had a drink but the VIEWISGORGEOUS. We got glammed up and went to SixtyFive the first night we arrived in NYC and it really did set the tone for our trip. It’s magical being high up in a beautiful city, it makes you giddy. We had 2 drinks and had a great time on the terrace. I will say the dress code wasn’t an issue because we dressed up but I did see an few guys with jeans and button down long sleeve shirts. People that think it’s expensive are absolutely right but I think it’s totally worth a $ 25 – 50 tab. I will likely go back every time I visit New York.

Yes, the drinks are overpriced. $ 20 for a glass of rose? Absurd you say. But hold on. For sweeping views of New York where just one floor above is the Rockefeller Observatory(mind you, the admission fee is $ 30), this place deserves a second look. I had a savvy NY friend who introduced me to this little hidden gem. Most tourists don’t know about it yet, and the entrance is relatively discrete. Follow signs to SixtyFive, up the escalator, then up a quick elevator. Service is fantastic. Ask for a table outside if it’s in the evening and not too cold. Bring a jacket, even in the summer because it’s high up. They do have big glass panes that block the wind, so that’s not a problem. On your way to your table outside, you will see sweeping views of Midtown Manhattan and beyond. The Empire State Building is straight ahead in all its glory. Perfect photo opportunity. On busy nights, it says that there is a two drink minimum, but I’m not sure that it ever gets that busy where they enforce it. In any case, the wines were great, as was the food, surprisingly. I was hungry, so got the fried chicken with waffles(an LA favorite for me). It was really nicely done. We also shared 2 desserts. A crème brûlée with cherries at the bottom, and a chocolate mousse cup with I believe peaches at the bottom. I loved both. My friends loved the crème brûlée more, but I loved the chocolate mousse. Our server told us the mango ravioli is not so great. If you have friends in town, and are looking for a place to impress, this is it! Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s open Saturday nights. However, on Friday, it’s open until midnight.

Nice crowd, expensive drinks that do not get you drunk and live jazz band on Friday nights until end of summer. Worth coming for the view, but wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for a place with decent food. It’s all about the atmosphere in here.

The amazing VIEW is what commands the pricey cocktails ranging from $ 16-$ 65 at SixtyFive’s lounge. It’s Rockefeller and a better deal than going to the Top of the Rock at $ 30. At least you can absorb the West-side and Central Park views with a cocktail in hand. Also be mindful that there’s a dress code – business casual is accepted but no shorts.

As far as popularity goes, this can still be considered a hidden gem for how new it is and how little it still is reviewed on Unilocal. While you can pay to go up on Top of the Rock, you could easily just dress nicely(business casual), get here free, no reservation needed and get a table and have better views of the city. The staff here were surprisingly very courteous, friendly, and always smiling. Different from in Las Vegas where I am from when dealing with staff for any must-go bar/club/etc destination. We were seated right away and we didn’t even have to order anything. The place was very lively and dim. We did decide to have some appetizers and a cocktail. The ham and cheese croquettes we ordered came with an onion jam. Pretty good. Our server also suggested these slightly larger than fries potato appetizer that came with a truffle aioli. Not bad, but the potatoes seemed a bit over-salted. Our drink was the rhythm & blues which came with blue berries in it. I thought the drink would come out blue but it was red. I wanted to try the sushi being prepared in the corner but it was hard to justify paying $ 24 for three pieces of salmon sashimi when I had no idea beforehand how good it might be. It sounded good from the menu, black truffle, truffle ponzu sauce. Maybe next time. Really though, the views are breath taking up here. The easiest way to see the entire city with the majority of the outside terrace facing the empire state building, times square, and the freedom tower. Take note though, leave the kids at home. This is a 21 and up spot.

Amazing spot. I cant say enough bout this place. Found Sixty five by accident while walking around Rockefeller center after my birthday dinner a few nights ago. Advertisment does work people! This place looked so good. So, we tried it. What amazing service. Even people directing you where to go in the buliding. I really love when staff speaks to you with respect, and kindness. Got a nice table in middle of the restaurant. Right away you cant help but notice amazing view of the city. It’s just breath taking. Best of all you can go out, and take pictures, have a drink if you like. This happened to be a chilly thursday night. Was little tough to be outside otherwise we would have opted for a table there. Anyways, we ordered the chocolate mousse and coffee. Was late and we already had dinner. Mousse was amazing! The best I ever had. It very rich in flavor, but not too overwhelming. Had delightful spoon of fresh cream and carmel crunch on top. Then fresh pears I believe mixed in. Just creative and delicious. Our waitress Shawna was a real sweetheart. Always checked on how we were doing, gave the wonderful recommendation for dessert, and took pictures of us to remember the night. This place is pricey but well worth it. I highly suggest coming here whether its a simple drink or big occasion. You cant beat the view or the amazing service. I guarantee you wont regret it. Go and enjoy! Btw, the bathroom. Omg! Amazing! Yes, I am saying it. Even the bathroom, wow. Extremely clean, fresh flowers everywhere, the soap was good even. Just an amazing smell. Hubby and I are definitely coming back.
