I really liked this place. It’s hidden in The Plaza Hotel, a very upscale midtown east establishment. It has a speakeasy type feel but really, it’s just a fancy bar in a fancy hotel. The drinks are extremely good and strong so that makes up for the $ 18 price tag since it’s like 2 drinks in 1. The service is great and the place is quiet so you can actually chat. They have these luxurious couch chairs to sit on so you can feel very cozy. They also serve fresh bar snacks with the drinks that are a bit more upscale than your typical bar snacks. This is definitely a nice place to get a drink with a friend in the area.

I’m not going to rate this bar on price, because it’s in a fantastic hotel in Mid-town. You already know you are going to have premium Manhattan prices. The service here is great. The booths and seating are comfortable, and the drinks are unique and strong. If you are staying in the hotel, you can have some drinks there and then order and take up to your room if you prefer. We ended up here after a night out since we were staying in the hotel.

My choice for after work cocktails. The drinks are strong but expensive. Except to pay $ 20 a cocktail. It’s very dark and intimate. The bartenders know their cocktails and drinks. Although expensive, it’s very chill and drinks are good.

All cocktails $ 19. For the neighborhood, and for being in the Palace Hotel, this isn’t too shocking, but the quality and ambiance just aren’t enough to warrant that price. Both specialty cocktails we ordered were fine-not-great, served in glasses with pretentiously long stems. Our waiter couldn’t get them to the table without spilling. A great place to buy drinks on the company’s corporate card!

This is my second time coming to troubles trust. This lounge is located on the first floor inside the New York Palace Hotel. The palace hotel is my favorite hotel in New York. The last time I was here I came with a group of friends after work. I thought the ambience was cool so I ended up giving it a shot again. It’s a really cool lounge to meet up with friends and have a drink pricewise it’s expensive I ordered two Manhattan’s and they were $ 20 apiece. The ambience is really cool it’s dark there’s candles lit on the table. I walked through the doors of the palace hotel and headed straight towards troubles trust. There are no doors to troubles. It’s open to the hotel lobby area. I think they did a remarkable job designing this because when you’re standing at the lobby looking into troubles you can’t see much of the restaurant at all. you could maybe see one table but when you’re actually inside of troubles you can see the whole entire lobby and everybody else. Before I got into troubles two of their staff asked me if I would want a complementary macaroon. I told him no and I we started talking about random things in life. The young girls were extremely nice and friendly. The one thing that I do like about troubles is that it’s very secluded almost like a secret cave very dark moody candles lit on the table but then as soon as you step outside your right in the main lobby and it’s you know there’s people walking around taking photos it’s really an interesting atmosphere. I really do enjoy getting a drink here the only issue that I did have was there seemed like there were a lot of tourists that were wandering in and looked confused asked where they were and then turn around and went right back out. I also got a bit annoyed with our waiter. I ordered a Manhattan it came extremely fast and maybe 10 minutes after I order it he asked me if I wanted another one. I told him no. Five minutes later he comes back and asked me if I want another one. I told him no again and that it was a Manhattan scotch and you cannot slam this drink you have to sip it. The waiter seemed like he just wanted to get people to buy drinks and get out of there. I ended up ordering another Manhattan and he was doing the same thing you would come over and asked me if I wanted another one. Finally I told him that I will let him know when I would like another drink if I would like another drink. Other than that troubles is a great place to come and meet people for a drink. The hotel itself is my favorite hotel in New York. The drinks are expensive there isn’t much under $ 18 per drink. The drinks are well-made and strong. I do recommend coming here I will definitely be coming back here in the future to meet up with some friends to have drinks again. PROS: — ambiance is great — candle lit lounge — inside the palace hotel CONS: — waiter was pushy asking if I wanted another drink every 5 mins. You can’t chug a manhattan bro. -

Very Interesting Hotel bar, located in the basement of the New York Palace Hotel Lobby. Yes, the drinks are expensive, but this is a Hotel Bar in The heart of Midtown Manhattan, so it is expected. The service was good, the drinks were amazing, and the free snacks were very good and always being refilled. It is always a pleasure to watch high end cocktails being made. The Bartenders were also good at suggesting which drink to try next. Overall a good experience.

Trouble Trust NY Manhattan Midtown 7pm Saturday 3rd December 2014 Three stars We just bought a dessert from another food facility at the New York Palace Hotel and wanted to get an adult drink. We walked in and sat down in the Trouble Trust lounge. As we take off our coats and sit down. The waiter tells us that this is a service area and we can’t bring outside food and we should sit in the public seating area. I understand that the industry works on tips and if we were taking up precious real estate without ordering anything that we should not be there. However, there were other tables available and we intended to order drinks. It was rather rude of him but he returned and told us that we could eat our dessert and didn’t have to order anything. I appreciate the concession. We still ordered some overpriced whiskeys. They did provide some cheese crackers and asian msg snack foods. Overall I was less than impressed because of the usual outstanding service provided by the hotel.

A small, dark crypt in contrast to the shimmering white and gold lobby of The Palace. Nice to hide a wrinkle or clandestine lover, but be prepared to yell – it’s loud due to the low bat-cave ceiling. Slurpee-sized drinks and ice cold beers poured in tall pilsners. Red glo backdrop lighting and modern bassy music adds a sensual vibe. If you are staying in the hotel it’s perfectly serviceable but definitely not a destination. No food menu, but the nuts are peppery, salty, sweet and spicy and limitless. More private than the on-level lobby bar and a great place to lounge after pounding the hot city pavement.

Usually trying to save a penny I’d avoid a place like this, but I am so glad I decided to stop in! The atmosphere is great. The bar is located at the base of the beautiful New York Palace Hotel and the dark cushioned couches and chairs perfectly complement the dark, quiet loungey feel of the place. A waiter serves your table and brings the drinks. Yes, the drinks are pricey(we’re talking $ 19 a pop) and yes you have to tip your waiter bringing the price further up, but I still believe it was a great deal. I ordered the Jersey Girl, a delicious lemon masterpiece, and was tastefully buzzed after only two sips. By the time I finished my beautiful cocktail I was on the verge of total inebriation. It was beautiful. While drinks at other lounges are often cheaper, I’d usually have to buy 2 or 3 to reach that same level. Additionally, they also provide a small tray of candied nuts and cheesy crackers to enjoy with your drink. My waiter was also fabulous. I wasn’t dressed to the nines as many of the other patrons were, but he still treated me just the same. I was very happy with my experience here. If you’re looking to feel swanky and have conversations with a group of fancy friends over some crafted cocktails, this is the place to go.

Cocktails are not only delicious but ENORMOUS! Prices are reasonable considering a single manhattan will take you where 3 stingy cocktails might elsewhere. Staff is friendly and professional, and atmosphere is quite relaxing. I think I like this place.

Was in midtown at 1am on a Saturday and chose to stop here based on the first review and the fact that it’s open until 2am. The disco music precluded the atmosphere from seeming«quiet and private» as the first reviewer found it to be. It took half an hour to get our drink. Right after getting our cocktails they announced last call and turned the lights all the way up. We definitely didn’t feel this place was worthy of charging $ 19 per cocktail. I can’t help think the first review was written by a friend of the owner. If it were earlier, I would have just gone to The Bar Downstairs under the Andaz.

A quiet, private lounge with superb cocktails and a nice selection of teas. Lights hanging over each table offer the sole illumination of this dark venue. The crowd here is well-to-do, understated, and slightly older. Conversations about business, love, and kids can be overheard from most tables. Service is classy and impeccable, and the customers reflect the same level of respect to the staff. Overall a wonderful, relaxed place that I anticipate visiting again.
