I like this place. Rotating menu but always great, inventive salads. They also have great baked goods that also are creative, such as the yummy zucchini bread and quinoa muffin. Pretty solid portions. The sandwiches are good too. The food is made fresh and there is a great vibe.

Thought I’d try it again for the first time in a long time to see if it changed any. Hasn’t. People working here are either stupid, lazy, or a-holes(or a combo.) Today, waited in line for 20 minutes only to be told the lunch special and the roast chicken were sold out. But not like, «oh, I just sold the last one to the customer before you.» Like: «All our lunch specials sold out a long time ago!» So, if that’s the case, why don’t you walk 2 feet over to the chalk board and cross them off? It’s a CHALK board! Don’t make me wait! Line is always out the door. Then again, if that’s the case, they really don’t need to do anything to bring customers in. So maybe I’m the stupid one.

Be sure to be ready for a decent sized line outside the door around brunch/lunch time. The location is as borderline distinct as it can get; 30 seconds either way of the store front and you’re either in Chinatown or Soho, and that in itself plays a part to the overall décor and atmosphere of the store. As many of the previous reviews point out, food here is actually good to almost great; however the price here is defiantly more on the ‘Soho’ side of things. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood for a quick coffee(small but wonderfully brewed) or some baked goods.

So I’ve always passed this place on my way to work it always smell so good so I decided to try it. I went it, waiting on a long line which I didn’t mind because the aroma was so pleasing I would’ve stood there for longer just because. Anyways as I got to the front,(note I’ve read reviews before I came here) people are right they all wear beanies and talk to you like they’re bored and better than everyone no SMILE or anything. So all I wanted was a cookie to try I was SEARCHING for a menu no menu only for the drink. I had to take the cookie out the jar myself and when I went to pay for it, it was 4 $ … Are you kidding me !? It wasn’t even big. I was so pissed. So I’m probably never coming back here because I refuse to pay for overpriced food from rude employees.

I like it, but can’t allow myself to love it. It’s just too darn expensive. Though the rotisserie chicken is pretty damn good, the $ 15 price tag is about $ 5 too much. The sides are extremely hit or miss. Also, the iced coffee is $ 3.25, which is utterly ridiculous. You can find far better coffee elsewhere, for less than $ 3.25. The lemonade is pretty tasty, but again: PRICEY. Lastly, as many others have mentioned, the staff is pretty sassy, not in a good way. I questioned my tab being nearly $ 20, and was returned with a LOT of attitude. The reason your smile is «to go» is that you’re so dang glad you’re leaving! End result: a place you won’t come to more than once a month, or you may end up completely broke!

Delicious. You’ll have to wait in line at lunchtime because it’s so yummy. Great for Veg gie and Vegan options. Perfect kale, everyday.

Not that great, I’d agree with the other 2 star reviews. I started a new job in the area and was hoping to find my new Spoon. Cramped and hot, long lines, and not exactly friendly. I got the egg sandwich, sans ham, and was disappointed with the soggy english muffin and droopy sautéed onions. Yuck… way overpriced. Oh Spoon, I miss you so…

Pricey, but good. Not very many options that I found and enjoyed in this area. I liked the kale salad and the chicken salad sandwich.

I like this place… I’ve went two times both for breakfast and coffee. Both times I ordered the egg and ham sandwich which is very tasty. They put sauteed or pickled onions on the sandwich… nice touch. They have a chocolate chunk cookie that I’ve been wanting to try… I think it’s called«The Cookie» but I could be wrong. IT looks pretty tasssssty. They must do a large catering business because it is always slammed in the back preparing for the day. The staff could be nicer…

I have been here many times now, and I’m definitely a fan! The drip coffee is a must, as are the baked goods. So far I have had the upside-down apple cake, the cheddar scallion biscuit, the banana cardamon loaf, the strawberry scone, and the chocolate loaf, and all have tasted nearly as good as at home! I have also had the ham and egg breakfast sandwich, and it is made with fresh, natural, ingredients. Also, the fresh-squeezed orange juice is delicious, but it is $ 5 for a small!

Smile To Go food is just fine. Not spectacular, as many reviews claim. I have been to this place twice in the past month. Last time I had half a roastbeef sandwich(not bad) and grilled carrots(greasy, cold, undercooked). The staff is not very friendly. Like, yah, we are too cool to say hello and thank you(«Smile to go»). As a side note: I had issues with the cash change twice in a row at Smile to Go. Last time I even had to claim with the cashier twice, before getting it right. I don’t mean anything wrong, but it’s probably a sign of the overall attitude of staff? One star for this over-rated, hip place. Sunrise mart and Gourmet Garage are much better options in the same neighborhood.

Not bad, especially if you’re in the area and is looking for other lunch options. The food is good although the service can be a little more warm. I felt like I was dealing with three different people just to get a few lunch items. The chicken salad sandwich is recommended, as well as the cheddar scallion biscuit. The grilled carrot side was nice but not memorable. Next time, I’m trying some of the sweet items. Small but fast moving lines.

This review is based just on the Peanut Butter & Jelly cookie I got when I stopped by quickly on the way to lunch after getting a snack: one of the best peanut butter cookies I’ve ever had. It was super moist and soft and had a really strong peanut buttery flavor. I’ll add a star when I get a chance to go back(assuming the rest of the pastries I saw there are just as good).

This place is soooo soho. LOL. Arriving just before the lunchtime rush, I walked up without waiting. I ordered Kale salad with marinated eggplant. A small togo box runs about $ 9. I also got an espresso for a grand total of $ 11.50. I easily grabbed a table, but unbeknownst to me, I was rather lucky in this regard. Around 12:30pm the barrage begins. One after the next, gorgeous 20 something cuties line up. All dressed to the nines. Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Chloe, Oscar de la Renta. Perfect, coifed. I had never seen anything like it. To be sure girls like salad, but this place was off the chain. That and the food was good! Well mostly. I actually came here to try the espresso and it was rather b-list. Ah well you will find a way to enjoy it anyway!

I can’t rave enough about this place — everything I’ve tried has been spectacular. From the rotisserie chicken, and roasted red pepper with carrots and feta salad, to the strawberry rhubarb scone, and kale with pickled apple salad. Not much sitting room, and always long lines during lunch time… but you’re received with a smile and will surely have a smile yourself once your done chowing down.

I was perty excited when Smile to Go opened near my office. Finally something semi healthy near by! I was even more excited when I first locked eyes with their gluten-free peanut butter and jelly cookies. Can you say goodbye summer ass?! Smile to Go caters to the lactard, glutard, vegan, sandwich, meat and(sometimes) fish eater. They have great salads(fennel, carrot/avocado, kale/apple, quinoa/shiitake mushroom etc.) and a daily soup which is often vegan. The rotisserie chicken(which is quite a large portion) is a daily experience. If you’re a coffe connoisseur it’s also worth checking out. The breakfast queues are a lot shorter than the lunch queues. Typically it gets busy around 12:30/1. There are three small tables inside if you’re lucky to get one. They do sell out of food so don’t be disappointed if they’re out of cookies.

A gem hidden on the fuzzy border between Tribeca and SoHo, Smile To Go isn’t your average greasy spoon takeout spot. The unassuming storefront is nestled among the galleries and boutiques that line Howard Street, a tiny, less-traversed passage between Lafayette and Broadway just north of Canal. If it weren’t for the lunchtime line that forms outside the tiny space(and a tip from a friend), I may have never known there was something to see — or taste — inside. Sister restaurant to popular Bond Street eatery The Smile, Smile To Go dishes out fresh, Mediterranean-inspired salads, sandwiches, soups and side dishes. Pastries like cinnamon buns, scones and muffins are available all day. If you’re lucky, you may snag a seat at one of the handful of tables inside the sunny space, or as the name suggests, take your edibles to go and find a nearby bench(of which there are few) or stoop(of which there are many) and settle in to watch the passersby.(Hint: Don’t eat at your desk you won’t digest your food well and studies show those who eat at their desk eat more!) Alright. Ordered half rotissetie chicken($ 10.00) Size of the chicken is a bit smaller than other spanish restaurants or fast food like Boston Market. This place puts lots of ingredients to make it flavorfull and delish! They do serve salads; side dishes fruit salads. Cooffees and expresso. Im loving this place!

Delicious lunch! Scrumptious baked goods! The line gets long, but the staff is efficient and moves rather fast. I ordered a whole chicken with cranberries sandwich, but the guy in front of me apparently had also ordered half of the sandwich when there was only one whole sandwich left. In lieu of ‘giving up’ half of my sandwich, the employee gave me a free apple biscuit. Cool. The sandwich was good; the chicken wasn’t too dry and the cranberries were obviously a great compliment. My friend also shared her chocolate chip cookie with me, which was really good! Sprinkled with salt on top, it was very moist & delicious. I really liked the diverse menu, but couldn’t really read the blue & green-colored writing, so I hope they change the chalk colors. The orange and yellow colors were fine. The name of this place is very appropriate; there’s very limited seating, so most folks took their orders to-go. My friend & I just happened to get lucky and grabbed a table at the end. I will definitely return to this place for lunch!

So many reasons to love this place, located just across from Opening Ceremony and Jill Sander. The daily changing menu is again created by the lovely and talented Melia Marden with the help of Brenna White who’s creative and delicious pastries are slowly making their way to original spot The Smile(available now just at dinner, but hopefully soon for lunch and breakfast too? PLEASE!) The salads are tasty and yummy with the Kale Salad and Farro Salad among my favorites. They do have a few sandwiches a day, including The Smile favorite Minori Cheese with Fig Jam, and a new addition the Chicken Salad Sandwich with dried cranberries on a really great bread, YUM! The Pizzette is delicious, and highly recommended, if they have it I cannot help but order one! Perfect size to feel satisfied but not over stuffed or guilty. I have a sweet tooth so am delighted with the wide range of pastries they make fresh daily. The penut butter cookie is the best i’ve ever had, the apple turnover with rosemary as a wonderful flakey crust, the cheddar apple biscuits are the perfect combination of sweet and cheesy! I can go on and on about this place, I love it love it love it!!!
