I had one of the best dining experiences of my life at sojourn last Saturday night. We got a last min reservation for 6 people at 8:00, which is almost impossible in NYC. Some of the highlights were Kobe beef sliders, onion rings, fish tacos, and chorizo and manchengo croquettes! Aaron was our server and was attentive and very polite. We got a bottle of prosecco and my friend split her last glass and there was no more left in the bottle so he gave her another glass from the bar ! Very accommodating ! Also we got the tiramisu and cheesecake which were both amazing. And the cheesecake was comped bc it was my friend’s birthday. All in all a cozy upbeat place with amazing food and service.

Nice food. Loved it. Definitely recommend. They are not really cheap but it’s ok to spend little extra for a good food.

I came here with a small group for Sunday brunch. We had a reservation for 12pm for 6 people(though only 5 of us showed up). We were seated promptly and I found our table very comfortable. I had the Almond Crusted French Toast and it was amazing. Best french toast I’ve had in a long time. I heard good raves for the Eggs Benedict, Croque Madame, and the Creamy Truffle Polenta from other diners. My only criticism is that the restaurant was not great about bringing coffee refills. I had ordered coffee and got it before the meal. When I wanted a refill, I kept looking around and couldn’t get our server’s attention. I saw a guy walking around with Mimosa mix to see who needed a refill on that, but… no one with a coffee pot. Finally when our food came, I asked for a refill and they brought it. Later on I would have liked another refill, but no one came by. So I think they could be a lot better on that. Other than that though, I really liked the atmosphere/environment and the food! I would come back. If you’re coming with one other person I don’t think you will necessarily need a brunch reservation. If it’s a group then I guess it’s a good idea, but the room didn’t look totally filled(at that hour) to me.

Food here was absolutely amazing. I had the eggs benedict, and their canadian bacon was cooked to perfection. The place was definitely pretty loud, but that was kind of part of the charm. Waiters do take a while to bring you everything, but once they do, it’s worth it. A really nice, trendy place for young people.

Went to this place for a bday they served all apps style. Food was tasty but portions were so small. The salads were very good, also loved the grilled veggies. The pasta dish was superb. Was so hungry though after and we ordered a ton of things. I would recommend going on a date night and order a bunch of stuff. Was $$$ but the ambiance is cool and fun.

Great spot for brunch. The deal can’t be beat — $ 29 for 2 hours of mimosas, bloodys or sangria, an entrée and a side. The food tasted great. I got the 3 eggs any style, scrambled with Gruyère cheese on top and the chirozo hash. My one comment would be that it was served luke warm. The drinks were strong and kept coming — at one point we had to ask the wait staff to stop refilling because we were buzzed after an hour! Our waiter and rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. Recommend this spot if you are looking for a casual brunch in a cool, laid back atmosphere with a few friends or with a date.

It’s a smaller restaurant, but perfect for a date night! Not only is the food delicious but the ambiance transports you to a different setting than you’re used to in the Upper East Side. The dishes are thought out and every bite is better than the last. Our waiter was great and I will definitely be back.

We came here hoping to have a quick brunch. We saw the good reviews and decided to try it. However, we ended up waiting for the food for about 45 minutes before they unapologetically brought out 4 of the least appetizing meals I have ever seen in my life(and yes I have been to a 24 hour Burger King). I ordered the lobster brie omelette. It was 20% lobster, 60% spinach, and 100% disappointment. The spinach flavor overwhelmed the rest of the omelette, leaving much to be desired. After the meal, the waiter came to ask us how the food was. We informed him that we were not pleased with the wait. He responded by claiming the restaurant was busy. However, I noticed only 60% of the seats were filled and he was only making an excuse to try and curry our favor for a tiny bit more tip. TL;DR: Don’t come here at all. Bad service, lacking quality, high price, and ridiculous wait time.

For the price, this place can’t be beat. For brunch the steak and eggs are amazing, with truffle oil, shaved fried leeks and Gruyère: absolutely amazing! For dinner their salmon with mushroom and Brussels sprouts are very sumptuous. And their baby bok choy is something I actually crave. They also do Brussels sprouts proud; NOT my mother’s Brussels sprouts! And then there’s the cheesecake. As good as I’ve ever had! The service is congenial and if you’re a regular, they treat you like gold. Only bad point, it can get loud.

I got here before my date so I sat at the bar to have a drink. It was 630pm so naturally I asked the bartender if there was happy hour. He laughed at me. Literally laughed & said«we don’t do THAT here.» I immediately braced myself for terrible service for the rest of the night but was pleasantly surprised. Everyone else at the restaurant was great & super friendly. Waitress was nice, even brought me a sample of wine before I purchased. Busboy was very attentive. Setting is very dim & intimate. We were here early on a Sunday so it was pretty empty but the tables are small & jam packed together so I can see it being uncomfortable on a busier night. the waitress told us we probably ordered too much food, we ignored her, she was right. It’s a «small plates» place but the plates really aren’t that small Food: –beets & apple salad: no a huge beet fan but this was delish. Beets were well marinated –burrata: very creamy & delicious, the tomato purée on the bottom was great –black pasta with lobster arribiata: sauce didn’t taste like pasta sauce, more just like canned tomato sauce. I was really excited about this dish but it as kind of a disappointment –scallops: very juicy & soft, the squash purée was unbelievable, my fav thing I ate in the night –skirt steak: great crispy charred crust, juicy inside. Came with fried rice which I thought was pretty bland. Overall great place, would prob stay away at busy times though

Such a great experience here! With a combination or traditional food and more main stream, all washed down by a crisp, cold beer, we walked away very happy. The scallops, octopus salad, spring rolls and short rib were all cooked to perfection, with a special call-out to the octopus salad.(It’s been a little while since we ate here, so I hope the octopus salad is still available. Would hate to think it was removed.) The service was great and the atmosphere is lively and hip. Really a great all around scene. Definitely intend on returning.

Good service, nice ambiance. Liked the kale salad & pumpkin pasta. The grilled octopus was a little tough, kobe sliders a bit grisly. Brussel sprouts had a tad bit too much lemon and salt, burratta was too chilled. They comped a flourless choco cake for birthday girl which was nice.

Really great place for dinner. I would suggest going with small groups because place gets packed and is extremely loud. Really good food– we got all different types, would recommend the duck spring rolls, burratta, skirt steak, cheese platter… Pretty much everything was a hit. My mom loved her half chicken dish, the black pasta was also really good. Octopus was alright. Good service– we were in and out. Easy to make online reservations and no extra charge for large parties which is nice. All around fun place, good to grab a meal on the UES!

My husband and I came here today for brunch to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary– it was awesome! We got there shortly after opening, and there were only a couple of tables(though they were both large parties) so it was pretty quiet. It started to fill up pretty quickly, though, so I would suggest making reservations if you plan to go later in the afternoon. We both got the bottomless drinks/entrée special– $ 29 for 2 hour unlimited mimosas, sangria and/or bloody mary’s. Not sure if it’s standard practice, but our waitress let us swap drinks. I stuck with mimosas the whole time, but my husband switched to sangria after a while. The drinks were great– they kept coming and were pretty strong. The food tasted AMAZING. I got the croque madame with chorizo hash. Husband got the french toast, also with hash. Both were great, but we agreed that the croque was the best. My only two complaints: the food wasn’t hot. It tasted amazing, but it was kind of lukewarm. Secondly, the table we were at was really wobbly, so cutting our food was a little nervewracking– every time one of us bumped the table slightly I worried something would fall over. That’s why I’m giving it four stars instead of five. That being said, we will definitely be back! It’s more of a special occasion type of thing(for our budget, anyways) but well worth the money, and it made for a great anniversary celebration meal!

Please try the black pasta! Your mouth will never be the same again. I also had the fried oysters(reminiscent of my fried oysters in NOLA), kobe beef sliders, and fried rice(to share, of course) and it was all really good but ive not had pasta that FELT as delicious as it tasted until i had the black pasta at Soljourns. Seriously, they did THAT. Follow all that with Tiramasu and Crème Brule and, well, night night. Excuse me as i continue to salivate over the mere memory of it all…

Three of us got to the restaurant right as it opened for Saturday brunch, even though we made a reservation with no problem(the restaurant is empty when it just opens. No need to make reservations next time unless you go an hour or so after opening time). The environment is a typical boozy brunch place, that gives a high-end feel with affordable prices. Many dishes were diner-prices but chef-quality, and you can even do the very affordable $ 29 unlimited boozy brunch, which we did not partake in this time. My boyfriend ordered eggs benedict, I ordered the special Sojourn benedict, and our friend ordered an iced cappuccino with lobster omlet. Our friend was able to request certain ingredients out with no problem, but was not able to substitue anything for free. My benedict was perfectly cooked, and I really appreciated the prefectly chewy and toasted bread that the eggs came on. Not the biggest fan of the salty sausage chunks in the hash, but otherwise the potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside.

GETTHEKOBEBEEFBURGERS! BESTTHINGHERE, and probably the ONLY reason I’d consider going back again. The Black Pasta with Lobster sounded really good but I was disappointed when it finally came– would definitely not get it again. Tuna tartare crostini was tasty though. We were seated inside and it was HOT and STUFFY, even with all the doors and windows open. The poor air circulation made me less hungry than I would have been. Maybe we should have sat outside or closer to the door, but those tables seemed reserved for drinking.

Fantastic food, ambiance and service both at the bar/lounge area and in the restaurant. We’ve been here a number of times for dinner in the dining area and drinks/appetizers in the cocktail lounge part of the restaurant. The bar/cocktail area is more social, festive and with a fun vibe; it can get crowded some happy hours /nights. The restaurant area is better for quiet, more private conversation. Both areas are great depending what strikes your mood. The food has always been wonderful. The dishes we’ve had: arugula salad, tuna tar tar, sesame crusted tuna, scallops, the hangar steak — And my favorite — Pacherri alla amalfi(their mixed seafood pasta dish) mmm, fabulous. Everything we’ve had here has been delicious. Martini was made superbly, with big plump fresh olives Service has also always been friendly both in the dining room and at the bar.

I’ve dined here twice and they don’t disappoint. FOOD First off the bread and seasoned olive oil they give is yummy. I’ve been to plenty of restaurants and not many are thoughtful enough to season their olive oil. It makes a big difference and foodies like myself appreciate it. The crispy oysters are yummy. The wasabi sauce adds a nice kick. My only issue is you get 4. So I usually end up ordering 2 portions. The rock shrimp was really bad. Hands down the worst thing I’ve had here. A few of our pieces was just all coating no shrimp and it was fishy tasting. Would never order again. The salmon was the best dish hands down. It was so thoughtful, well seasoned and perfectly executed. My friend and I could not stop raving about it. salmon was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy top, the sauce was amazing the mushrooms added a nice meatiness and everything came together like a beautiful symphony. A must have every time I come here. The steamed mussels are divine. It’s a great portion and prepared exactly how mussels should be with white wine, shallots and garlic. YUM! The short rib tacos were good. Jalapeño tomatillo was nice surprise. The scallops wrapped in bacon was a little disappointing. I love scallops wrapped in bacon and I wanted to love the dish but I didn’t. The scallops themselves were bland and a weird texture. The bacon did nothing for the dish.(Which is shocking because I’m one of those people who think bacon is its own food group) The pea purée it was served on was yummy. Everyone raves about the cheesecake while I think it’s a great texture. It taste too much like ricotta and not enough like cream cheese. But it’s not bad. More has to do with preference. The blueberries were not ripe which left a sour taste in my mouth literally. SERVICE Its a gamble our first server I think her name was Rebecca was wonderful. She was friendly, she checked on us constantly without being annoying. Refilled our water, chatted with us for a few. I mean just superb. My most recent server was okay. She wasn’t exactly rude but she wasn’t nice. She didn’t seem interested in working. Very preoccupied and standoffish. The hostess is very friendly. Ambiance Really loud and they have a live band. But the seating is comfortable and relaxed especially if you get the couches. Tables are very close together(hi neighbor) really dim lighting, and candles give it a romantic vibe. Can’t wait to dine here again.

An online search for food mid-day on a Saturday yielded this cute place with very high Zagat ratings. The food and service were fantastic, and the ambiance is nice and mellow/romantic. And after finishing our food, my friend and I hung around, just drinking and chatting, and we never felt rushed to leave. What a great place to spend mid-day on a weekend! For a 5-cheese platter, a Croque Monsieur sandwich, a Bloody Mary, 2 Sangrias, and 3 glasses of Albariño, the bill came up to around $ 98 before tip. A bit pricey, but worth it.
