Great chicken shwarma — the pita is to die for! So soft it’s amazing.

Unilocalers, I have lived in Israel, and outside of the Middle East, this is my favorite falafel. This was the first place I went to eat on my last trip back to NYC(I am a former local). The bread is always fresh. The falafel is that amazing green color. It’s well seasoned, and the hot sauce is perfection. After I eat one, I usually run back to the counter for another. I’m not one to redress other commenters, but seriously JR, they conspire and use thicker pita bread in order to reduce what they put in side??? That’s wackier than the 9⁄11 George Bush did it conspiracy. Lets make the break thicker to reduce the amount of other low price veggies we put inside? Here’s a better idea: How about just making the pita smaller. Then there’s less of everything!

Terrible food. Decided to stop by to try the chicken shawarma. First of all, it looks nothing like a shawarma is supposed to, and they use pita bread and not the thinner Lebanese bread, which is the ideal for a shawarma sandwich. Basically, anyone who knows real shawarma sandwiches will be appalled by what they try to pass as shawarma here. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever. I ended up taking everything out and just eating the pita with hummus, which were okay, but I didn’t go there to have just bread and hummus. After throwing half of my sandwich in the garbage, I decided to try the baklawa. Not impressing at all. This was a terrible experience, and for the quality of the food it is definitely overpriced. The people there are nice, but I will never go back.

This place is the worst … The pita bread is the thickest to reduce what they put inside I order a falafel = BLAND Go to Mamoun’s for a great falafel… I gave them another chance, and ordered a chicken shawarma they filled the pita with salad and hummus before sprinkling a little chicken on top …

Not gonna lie, I got suckered in by the $ 5 lunch deal, falafel + soda, and for $ 1 extra, an order of fries. WOW. Cheap suit? Cheap lunch. But then I decided to try out some other stuff and now I’m hooked on their falafel salad. All the works and they don’t rush the process at all. They cradle your baby. On my last visit, the cashier handed us a freshly fried falafel ball on a toothpick while we waited.

I read somewhere that this place was going to turn into a sandwich shop and panicked!!! I started ordering delivery from Tahini non stop because the thought of never again having their falafel and pita was too much for one man to handle. I really really want this place to stay in business because they have the best pita bread I have ever had in my life. It is warm, springy, fluffy yet chewy, moist, and it smells like a dream. Sometimes I buy a bag of it and eat the entire contents in one subway ride, it is THAT good. The falafel is still amazing, it is fried and absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. No mystery contents here, and I can get all the tahini I want. All this talk of the pita makes me want to go there now!

I can eat the hummus and tahini all day here and not get sick of it! Yay for hot sauce!

Ordered chicken shawarma platter via delivery from Seamless. Excellent hummus, good solid food. Not many places deliver middle eastern food around me.

The falafel is pretty great. You really do get what you pay for: it’s fresh tasting, and resembles nothing like what you might get at Mamoun’s or a street cart. The falafel is actually green… I am so used to seeing a weird brownish yellow hue that the green threw me off. The pita bread is also really soft and fluffy, and I like that you can dunk some tahini sauce or amba, a spicy mango condiment on your falafel.

Their falafel is incredible. SO fresh, the consistency is perfect(soft and moist on the inside, perfectly fried and hot on the outside), and a little bit of the 2 sauces really bring it to the next level. The pita is warm and soft, the toppings are tasty, and they are not cheap with hummus. It’s more expensive than the other places(Cheep’s, Mamoun’s), but if you are a student it is only $ 3.81. I had a frequent buyer card(buy 9, 10th is free), and when I used it up to get my free one and asked for a new card, the guy said they’re not doing that anymore. Weird. Not sure if I believe him… I had never seen that employee before. Regardless, I always come here now instead of the other options. It;s worth it!

Their falafel is the best to choose from. It’s moist inside, crunchy on the outside, and deliciously spiced. I’ve eaten at several places and I can definitely tell it’s made fresh on the premises and not pre mixed. Their pita bread is fresh, thick, and chewy. You can easily get full with a falafel sandwich — and only $ 5! Who says McDonald’s and Burger King are the only affordable choices in this slow economy? The hummus at this place is all right. Just not as tasty as the salads I always buy at Carmel in my hood. Their tehina is very tasty and consistent. Most places I’ve eaten at have tehina that tastes like it’s been watered down. Also they are generous with the salads when filling the pita. Most eateries I’ve been to already charge an extra dollar for extra hummus. Not Tahini! The décor inside is nothing to brag about, just your standard, quick service, cheap eatery.

This is my favorite falafel place. I get their falafel sandwich for $ 5, and it fills me up! If you are a guy, I’d suggest you order two. They always have seating in the back if the front’s packed. A few stores down, there’s a bookstore if you have time to kill. They have a good selection of really hip books(if you’re into that kind of stuff.)

Tried it today and would definitely come back. The shawarma in pita was very good, not the best I ever had, but it definitely hit the spot. One big thing however, is I am not a big fan of french fries, however Tahinis fries were really good! They were plain, but cooked perfect. Also, they were only a dollar! Fries are a dollar when paired with a sandwich. Also, they offer 20 percent discount to students, so a shawarma sandwich turns out to be like 5 — 6 bucks when you show id, which is not bad at all. So for the price and quality, I liked it a lot.

Stopped by because I was hungry and my friend said lets try this spot out. I had the shawarma and my friend had the falafel. The shawarma was pretty good. We sat in the the back. The place is pretty small, but I like how they had a sink to wash your hands before sitting down to eat. That was pretty cool. My friend sucked his falafel down so I didn’t even ask how it was. Kinda self explanatory.

I got the falafel sandwich here, not too shabby. The falafels are deep fried, which turned me off a little. I prefer Pita Joe but beggars can’t be choosers. What matters is that it filled me up good before I started my 6 hours plus of drinking with Louis R and other Unilocalers!

This is a Middle Eastern fast food place. I used to work in this area and I would come here occasionally to buy a late night meal. I always get either the chicken shawarma platter or the falafel platter. The platters come with rice, salad, hummus and a pita. The platter is a good portion and very filling. If you want to save some money or you aren’t that hungry, just get a sandwich instead. There is a bit of a wait to get your food though. However, the food here is always fresh when I get it. I especially don’t mind waiting if that means I get fresher shawarma.

Painstakingly slow service. I’ve been here on several occassions and the food is good but the workers are always chatting and ignoring the customers while having heated conversations with each other. Meanwhile, the line builds up out the door. 2 shwarma sandwiches, 1 with egg, and 1 bottle of water for $ 20.03. A bit pricey for what it is and the wait isn’t good… but its a decent option in the area. They need to work on their speed and customer service… it’s a shame because the food is actually good. Also, I’ve ordered Seamless Web delivery from here and they are also painstakingly slow on delivery. F on business operations, B on food.

I tried the falafel and for $ 5 it was pretty good. The bread was thicker and fluffier than normal pita bread which was great because it actually stayed together and wasn’t messy. Everything is made to order and is very fresh. The falafel balls were really soft probably the softest I’ve ever had they were mushy but not raw. The falafel was fresh, warm and not messy but lacked something… there was a bit of hummus and tahini sauce but for some reason I kept reaching for the hot sauce bottle? Maybe I am just used to a bit more spice but they were a bit bland for me. Even with a few squirts of sauce I felt like I needed to shake something on it and then it would have tasted great. The place is clean and it was very convenient but maybe I just favor mamouns.

The falafel was good as was the Shwarma sandwich. My favorite part was the bread! It was so soft and fluffy. The french fries were good and tasted as if they were fried in fresh oil and not recycled oil. A nice change from other places I’ve been to. This place is a nice Middle eastern fast food joint with reasonable prices. Go check it out!

For a cheap and cheerful Lebanese — this little Falafel place does the job. For $ 5 you get a falafel meal with salad and a drink. Bargainous. I haven’t found many great Lebanese places in NYC — gourmet or budget but I’ve been back to Tahini a few times now. If you find yourself missing London’s Edgware Road — this isn’t quite as good but cures the late night cravings.
