Really excellent wine bar! I’ve never had trouble finding seats here, and they also have a really great beer selection. Definitely will return!

I have a soft spot for Terroir(especially this location, I’ve been to the Tribeca one as well), since this is where my husband and I spent the night right before he proposed in 2012. It has always been the to-go spot for our casual date nights. They have an extensive wine selection and the bar snacks are really delicious. There was a dandelion salad that I was seriously addicted to… not sure why it was removed from the menu… sadness. The ambiance is very mysterious and romantic. The space is a bit on the smaller side so I wouldn’t recommend coming in with a large group. Bring a date instead! Some dishes I recommend: Smokey Almonds, Beet Gorgonzola Risotto Balls, Chicken Liver Bruschetta, Kale Salad, and their Cheese/Charcuterie platters.

Lovely wine. But the goat cheese steals the show. Fabulous staff and great Book of Wine(but be prepared to spend a few minutes evaluating it).

This is a great little wine bar. Went in today at the end of happy hour(4?-7 everyday) got red wine off the HH by the glass list and some food. The wine was pretty good but the food was out of this world! I wasn’t expecting it at all but was VERY pleasantly surprised I will be back whenever I am in the area and also bring my friends visiting from out of town.

Loved this wine bar on a quiet night. Great wines and excellent service. Pasta dish was a nice surprise with how delicious it was.(is this kitchen related to the great Hearth restaurant, I think I heard?) Frequent visitor card given too. definitely will return!

I’m giving them 4 stars simply because they are pricey but definitely a great atmosphere and very knowledgable staff. If you order food, be warned that the portions are very small so don’t arrive hungry. Be sure to ask for a wine punch card, which will get you a free glass of wine after you’ve purchased 12.

I get it, I’m no wine connoisseur. Nor am I well educated in the vast array of the world’s most complex wines. I like what I like, what can I say? You, however, may be more than just a wine enthusiast. I say«enthusiast» because if you happened to be a sommelier, why work the Happy Hour counter in Murray Hill, dealing with the Pinot Grigios of the world. Amirite? Whatever the case, I don’t mind learning more about what I don’t know much about. Does sweet mean the same to you, as it does to me? Apparently not. Do I need to you to tell me the wine I’m tasting isn’t sweet, even though I’m cringing on the inside with an overly sweet taste? No, thanks. Again, I like what I like and if there’s one thing I’m certain of, I truly dislike the wine enthusiast in you/you. To wrap it up, I’ll leave it to my Happy Hour companion of the night who tweeted(yes, tweeted) ever so honestly the following, «Nothing like happy hour in Murray Hill to confirm why you live in Brooklyn. We should file a formal complaint.» Hear, hear.

Paolo’s my dude. He’s friendly, knowledgeable about the wine, puts up with my friends and their vague wine tastes and never fails to make my time at Terroir a good one. While Terroir Tribeca is my favorite because of the vibe there, I do enjoy this Kips Bay location as well. I’ve come for happy hour, to grab a bite, to catch up with friends, to unwind, etc. And no matter what brings me in, I always leave feeler better than I did when I came in. I guess the wine does the trick, right? P.S. Nothing makes me giggle more than the abundance of first dates that meet here. Because of the communal seating, one can’t help but eavesdrop and be thoroughly amused.

Service is super shitty but food is amazing I recommend the burger, fries or ricotta fried balls!

When you think of a wine bar, you sometimes think of a pretentious, stuffy establishment. Terroir is the exact opposite. It is the epitome of a gem. It’s a small place and the tables are rather communal so you get to know your neighbors! I actually prefer sitting at the bar but those seats are hard to come by. This place is jammed for happy hour as it should be — the specials are great between the wine and food. The servers are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable which makes the experience that much better. Definitely put this on your happy hour list!

I have nothing bad to say about this unique wine bar. As a grad student and teacher who knows knows petty much nothing about wine, I felt right at home. They have at least two sommeliers on staff who are not judgmental and just want to share their love for wine. Great place to stop by after a great dinner but you don’t want the night to end quite yet. I haven’t had the food, but I have smelled it and it smells soooooo good. Real comfort food, which is strange for a wine bar. Great selection! I love that I can get a half glass(then I get to try more to find what I like). Their summer of reisling is really special and I love browsing their menu.

Great service, great wine, great food! They have a really delicious rose on tap — a great summer drink! I’ve been here for happy hour with friends, and I most recently brought my Mom for an early dinner. We had the rose(tap) and a selection of tapas: Straciatella: the mozzarella actually melts in your mouth — no exaggeration. Beet & Blue Cheese Risotto Balls: good Sweet Corn & Mascarpone Risotto Balls: OUTOFTHISWORLD! I am salivating at the thought of them as I write this. Overall, very consistent with service and food. I am very willing to admit that I have ordered the aforementioned dishes multiple times, and they taste better every time!

Came here after a night of pub crawling, needless to say, we ended on a high note. The place is beautiful. Dark wood bar and big tables– no feeling cramped here. We ordered 2 styles of wings– Tzatziki and African Barbere spice. The Tzatzkiki were not my favorite, but maybe it’s just not something I’m used to. The Barbere ones were TODIEFOR. As soon as we were done I was looking this spice up on Amazon. So delicious! On and then we had wine… DUH! They actually have a very good Rose on TAP! Clean and refreshing. Perfect for summer.

Everything about this place is awesome. It’s right on 3rd ave in the middle of Kips Bay /Murray Hill. My friend and I went here for dinner last night and had a great time. We sat at one of the high top tables, next to the window. They have an extensive wine list(obviously) and they even have unique liquors at the bar — whiskey’s, gin’s, vodka’s, and rum’s — brands and types I’ve never heard of before. We decided to go with this bottle of red from Lebanon — a blend, but most of it is a cab. They have A TON of Rieslings! Paulo, our waiter, was great and gave us a lot of options and provided a lot of knowledge on the wines. He recommended this wine to us and it was delicious! We also ordered food… Tomato Egg Bruschetta — sounded interesting, looked interesting, tasted great. There were a few big slices of bread under this tomato and egg mixture that was covered on top. Our waiter told us to mix the egg yolk in with the tomato salsa and then cut it in half — it was really good! Beet and Gorgonzola Risotto Balls — these were fantastic! I liked them better than the other risotto balls. They were cooked perfectly and the beet taste wasn’t too strong. They were easy to cut and eat, and didn’t fall apart when you’d break it. Sweet Corn and Mascarpone Risotto Balls — these were pretty good too, but had less flavor than the beet and gorgonzola risotto balls Cheese Platter — we got three cheeses — goat cheese, sheep cheese, and this pungent cow cheese… all were pretty tasty and they come with a basket of small bread pieces. Make sure you get a loyalty card too! I’ll definitely be back here and hopefully very soon.

A very eclectic wine menu with lots of stuff you’ve never tried. A gazillion Rieslings ranging from extra-dry to dessert. The staff is always very knowledgeable. Most of them are wine geeks like me. I always order at least a bottle per person, usually more.

I’ve been to the west village counterpart, which is fantastic. The service at this location was not quite up to par. Pluses: fried chicken is one of the best recipes in the city. It has a slightly sweet taste to the batter, it isn’t at all greasy, it is perfectly cooked so that the chicken is moist, and it is served with a delicious siracha sauce. Tomato and egg bruschetta was also very good. Tomatoes were delicious and the big piece of crusty bread was the perfect vessel. The fried egg with raw yolk was a little over kill. You can’t even really taste it, which isn’t a bad thing as the tomatoes are the star of this dish. Good lineup of wines with some at happy hour prices. They also have a decent selection of craft beers including 5 or so on tap. Minuses: The service wasn’t that great. At the west village location the servers are proactive and engaging in trying to help you find a wine you’ll like. They will even offer to bring a couple over to the table so you can try them. The server at this location just wasn’t as helpful with the wine descriptions and although he allowed us to try a couple wines before we made our selection it seemed as if we were a burden to him.

FRIEDCHICKEN!!! Yum. yum, yum. Must get. Also, the mozzarella balls were delish as well. Quaint wine bar and super friendly service. It was very mellow in there with only a couple other groups in the bar. perfect for our party with 3 kiddos that quickly fell asleep while we drank away!

It pains me to not give a Terroir establishment not-5 stars. I feel actual pain in my fingers typing this. But this midtown out post just falls short. Can midtown east ever catch a break? Besides a shorter list of both appetizers and wines by the glass, the servers were not super friendly, ok, they were borderline disinterested. This broke. my. heart. since one of my favorite things about terroir is their adorable down to earth salesmanship and wino knowledge. I want to hope it was just my companion? maybe he was a bit too know-it-all? I’ll give this one another shot, if only for convenience and the rest of the wine list holds up in quality — if not quantitiy of the quality — to the rest of the brand. The space is about 2/3rds the size of the Pslope one, and easily 4x the size of the LES one, but that is not saying much. But size doesn’t matter… especially when quality suffers.

I found it to be a little bit difficult to find Terroir because it is sandwiched in between two other restaurants with nice outdoor seating out front, so I would just pass by it without notice the awning that obviously said«TERROIR». Anyway, I do not know about you guys, but I find it sometimes difficult to get out of work at a decent enough time to catch happy hours so I am always on the look out for longer happy hours well pass 6. And I found it at Terroir. One thing to note about their happy hour drink menu, is that they offer a list of red, white, and beer. However, among their list of whites, you will notice that they only offer Riesling, no Sauvignon, no Chardonnay, no Pinot! They have a bit more of a varied red list. But it does not come cheap. Even their happy hour drink menu starts off at $ 7-$ 8 a glass. Oh, and they have a whole binder with pages and pages of different wines, but it would be a royal pain in the a$$ to go through it all so I suggest asking your waiter for his recommendation, depending on how dry or fruity or light you prefer your wine. I love that they have a more substantial food menu than many wine bars. They offer everything from charcuterie, to bruschetta, and fried chicken. I highly recommend their fried chicken, which is boneless which means that your date won’t risk the chance of looking like a barbarian in front of you. I also recommend the Tomato Basil and Egg bruschetta. The waiter also recommended the Lardo bruschetta, but the word lardo seemed unappealing to us. But I think I will give it a try the next time I am at Terroir because it turns out that lardo is just a saltier Italian prosciutto-like salami! The servers/bartenders are very young hipster-esque, but the décor and ambiance give off a bit classier vibe. And to top it off, Monday nights is heavy metal night. So, it threw me off a bit but I had a great time. Overall, because it is in Kips Bay, bordering Murray Hill and hundreds of other bars, the crowd was very young and pretty! Enjoy!
