$ 7 for a bottle of Bud on a random Monday night. Too many other dumps in the area to overpay at this one.

Great place to watch the game(especially if you are a steeler fan). Young crowd but lots of fun. Great burgers!

the comedy night on tuesdays at 8pm has saved my weeknights many a times. i’ve been going since before gary vider competed on america’s got talent and when they had .50cent wing specials(bring these back!) i’m also happy to see that they’ve returned to their blue façade — it gives the irish exit character on a block full of bars. in other words, this is a local favorite of mine on tuesday nights.

Went here for a happy hour that one of my friends won and I had a reasonably good time. The drinks aren’t too expensive and they seem to really like giving out happy hours so if you’re looking for a place to meet up with some buddies and grab some cheap brews this is a good spot. I actually won one myself that I’m going to later in Decemeber and a few of my friends also won a happy hour. It’s a small spot and it can get pretty crowded, but the atmosphere reminded me of a college bar which I actually didn’t mind. It’s not a pretentious place at all and you can really just kick it with your friends. If I remember correctly it’s a quick cab ride from Grand Central, maybe like 5 – 10 mins away. The bartenders weren’t the fastest, but they were above average. Also they go around and pour shots straight into people’s mouths, so again if you like that collegial vibe you’ll be right at home. If you don’t go in expecting this to be a top notch bar and take it for what is it you’ll be very happy with your experience.

This is a charming bar I stumbled upon. They have comedy for free on Tuesdays. Definitely worth checking out

A tiny little part of me hates to have to give this place one star. I’ve been here a few times. Good happy hour deal when u sign up, pretty good music, nice bartenders. Then again, I can find all of these same qualities within a few block radius… The owner of this place is probably the most disgusting individual I’ve ever encountered. Once before, a friend of mine won the happy hour deal, but because of the time they gave him, he had to come straight from work. He had on a T-shirt and they were not trying to let him in. I’ve won the happy hour deal before, and nowhere on that email does it state a dress code. Not to mention my friend is African American. A few minutes later I saw a Caucasian male walk in with sweat shorts on. Wonder how that happened. This past weekend I witnessed the owner making a mockery of a woman who was drunk(again, she was African American) just for being out of it. Literally yelling out loud basically shaming her and she was unable to defend herself. Her friends were trying to take her out, but he literally tried to run to grab her to take her out himself. All she was doing is sitting down, not even acting out. Yet there have been drunken girls of other ethnicities standing on tables, making out with each other, breaking glasses, etc. Yet again, nothing said. It’s sad when even the staff is not surprised that he acted in this way, and I’ve heard an insider that he’s gotten the race card a few times. I will no longer support a business ran by someone SO disrespectful and unprofessional as a business owner… especially a RACIST one. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone spits in his face one day(if they haven’t already)…

The review is for the Hot Soup Comedy Show in the back room at this bar Tuesdays 8 – 10. Very good comics – the show is run by Gary Vider, current America’s Got Talent Semifinalist; Mark Normand, past Last Comic Standing Semifinalist; and veteran comic Matt Ruby. Top national comics, such as Jim Gaffigan, Louis CK and Hannibal Burress drop in. No cover charge! No drink minimum! $ 20 for unlimited drinks 8 – 10. Comfortable chairs; relaxed vibe. If this had existed when I lived in the city, I would have gone every week.

I know better than to go to bars like this. But when my friend’s 22 year old sister insisted on going there after dinner, i sucked it up. The irish exit is what happens when a bro-bro-fratty-fratty irish pub tries to be a night club. First off, they have a ridiculous«No hats» policy for guys. A no baseball hat policy in a smelly pub that puts baseball games up on the screen is funny to me. Secondly, the bathroom. it’s a 4X6 box with two urinals and a stall, and these guys have the balls to put a BATHROOMATTENDANT in that box. I felt so bad for the guy. Also, it’s incredibly hard to go #1 when theres a guy sitting down less than a foot behind you. Bathroom attendants are a tacky feature in nightclubs, much less a shitty midtown pub. As you leave the bathroom you’re met with their«VIP» area(which is more of a corner) where they are doing BOTTLESERVICE. At a pub. I can’t even. As we left, a fight was breaking out(naturally). I’d rather get a chainsaw enema then go back here.

Whenever I come into this bar, I know I’m going to have a good time. Watch out for the sticky floor but stay around for kick ass happy hour. The crowd is middle aged/tourists so people are definitely not shy!

Horrible experience. The bartenders and bouncers are rude. Drinks are overpriced and nothing special. Would recommend any other bar nearby if you’re in the area. Do not go here.

A bar with rules. Guys can’t wear hats, girls can and so can anyone working there. What has happen to equality?

All draught beer was warm. The Irish guy behind the bar was friendly but I probably won’t go back.

Fancy having the bartender call you Lucy Liu? She is much older than me but hey I’ll take it. Here are the advantages of being called Lucy Liu by the bartender: 1. Special attention. I never had to wait longer than a minute to order a drink. 2. He made my drinks extra strong when I asked him to. 3. They have these red tickets that they give out. You can exchange those tickets for bacon cooked in Jameson. Yum. Lucy Liu will be back with her 2 sidekicks, full throttle.

Shitty music. Shitty people. Shitty experience. If you’re going here and you’re over 18, then you should probably think about where you went wrong in life. I know it’s 2nd avenue and all, but dancing on bars, exclusively playing crappy 90s music, and having bouncers toss drunk dudes out has never been a good time.

The Irish Exit is a great spot with a solid regular following. The crowd skews younger and for a «divey» bar has a good ratio of guys and girls. Drinks are reasonably priced, the service is awesome as the bartenders not only provided quick service, but also were able to remember your previous orders and even have a conversation with you(Scott was fantastic). This bar just seems to have a lot going on. They had a dj playing top 40 jams, had trivia nights, and also is a Steelers bar. If you are looking for a more relaxed, low-key night with cheap drinks, then Irish Exit is worth a visit.

My 2nd visit to Irish Exit with my Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic partner. Nice spot, good wings & pretty hype crowd of fans. I’ve enjoyed both visits but have to say was over crowded during the Playoff game against the Ravens(to be expected). Was told by the owner I believe that they were getting more bartenders and only 1 joined the fray. This place tends to get pretty packed with Steelers fans but don’t think they have ample bartenders since that’s the complaint I’ve heard from several patrons. From personal experience, get there early and avoid the extended wait for a beer. My LITs weren’t that great but the beer is my recommendation. Overall, awesome place, clean bathrooms, flavorful wings & good prices on beer. If you’re a Steelers fan this is the place for you.

«Oh man. Remember that place where we had a pretty good time because it was super packed, kinda sweaty, and the entire bar did the singalong to «Scottie Doesn’t Know»? Yeah, The Irish Exit is like that. You might say that’s terrible or that’s awesome, but you will undoubtedly know exactly whether this is the kind of spot for you. There’s not a lot to define this place, but sometimes it doesn’t matter. Sling drinks and sing a song. Booyah!

The bar in a busy Thursday game Night only had 2 bartenders, and 1 in the 2nd bar in the back. Then front bartenders lacked any structure in serving drinks, so hit or miss. The manger was a douchebag w/his St. Louis or Louisiana Jersey– he lacked any customer service skills. The cramped men’s bathroom had a room attendant, why???(So does female). Yes the drinks were cheap, but if you have any class, there is no service here. Fratboy dump to be honest.

On my first visit I would just say meh, give it two stars and treat it like any other Irish type bar that I can see in New York, or Boston or Chicago. I went because a friend’s roommate won a happy hour and it was ½ off drinks. Definitely frat-ish, and had an obnoxious door guy AND a bathroom attendant in a closet size men’s room. Basically, I was going to hate this place and leave it at that. THAT is until I won a free happy hour and basically invited any/everyone. While the contact process can be a little one sided, but once you get there it’s not bad. A bar that lets you have a free happy hour on Friday can’t be all that bad and since I brought more than a few folks with me I also got a voucher for fifty bucks off my tab which I *had* to use that night. Really, Irish Exit? You’re ‘making’ me drink more? That’s like telling Augustus Gloop he can eat as much chocolate he wants. On top of that, it was basically like an late 90s/early 2000s dance party where most of my friends stayed well past the free happy hour anyway. On top of that with the food and the post free HH drinks and the voucher I ended up paying under 30 bucks including tip. Not bad Irish Exit, not bad.

I really wish I had stayed here for their Halloween party! They had a much more interesting/diverse crowd than the next venue I went to, but by the time we came back, there was a cover charge(fail!). Their chicken wrap was disappointingly bland, but I enjoyed their fries and drinks. Their menu pretty much has everything you could ever want at a bar including a variety of sliders, salads and platters, so I’ll be sure to try something else next time(like their Irish onion soup!). Fast and attentive service, no complaints there.
