Cozy space on the edge of Chinatown. Dishes are simple but full of flavor. Ordered the king salmon which was a little dry but the sauce more than made up for it. They didn’t have a liquor license at the time but had several creative«mocktinis» as an alternative made from soda and juices. They were good but I did not see the need for them to charge me cocktail prices($ 8-$ 10) for ginger ale with muddled blueberries on the rocks.

This place is terrific. In a few months once more people discover it(and they get a liquor license) it will, alas, be impossible to get in. In the meantime, though, it’s a wonderful spot. The food is excellent, especially the duck and the huckleberry crème brûlée. Some other reviews complain of small portions but, while they are not outrageous, our party found them pretty satisfying. The lack of liquor license will a bit of a pain in the neck actually saved us some cash by bringing our own bottles. All in all, a cute space, friendly waiters, great food. Definitely recommend!

Do not let the third photo fool you; while the scallops with green beans and cherry tomatoes was melt in your mouth delicious, the flowers aren’t a staple. I recommend hitting up Mott while its still BYOB, because who doesn’t love BYOB? The gnocchi primi piatti is amazing with bacon and corn flavoring the sauce, topped with fried leeks – mott’s high end french fry. The melon sauced fluke crudo is very light and tasty. Mr. Duck comes with figs & bok-choy, yum yum. So while the food is all curiously delicious, do not be dismayed if they forget your forget-me-nots.

After hearing numerous raves I decided to check this place out for myself. Overall, based on the reviews here, I was very disappointed. I thought the menu was inventive, but overall the food was just good. In particular, the gnocchi sounded better than it tasted. Portions are very small. The menu is limited, but well edited with a nice variety. Service was underwhelming — the restaurant filled up, but only the host and 1 waiter were working the entire floor. Note there is no liquor license yet(I did not remove stars for that as I knew it in advance). The atmosphere is very nice(more Edison bulbs…). This is a nice neighborhood spot(although not inexpensive for what it is), but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Beautiful space(exposed white brick walls, with a white marble bar and copper ceiling), incredibly cozy and inviting ambiance, really friendly service — and then there’s the food… YUM… Following the current craze of using only local, sustainable, seasonal ingredients — showcasing items only in their absolute prime — this restaurant really stands out. To start I had the crispy pork belly, which was super succulent with an incredibly texture, it came with wonderfully zesty pickled ramps… Then I moved on to the pan-seared John Dory, which was excellently executed, it was super delicate and extremely flavorful, and the accompanying asparagus and sunchoke were delicious… For«dessert» I had the rabbit terrine, which really hit the spot, it was really good — and my waiter complimented me on my «open-mindedness,» whatever that means. There’s a lot of tender-loving-care and attention to detail put into the menu-planning, there are absolutely no frills, but things are well-explained and approachable. I’ll definitely be back — the prices are just right for what you get, the food is simple and spot on, the restaurant is gratefully lacking in attitude(which might be helped out by its proximity to Chinatown and the Bowery), and the place has an overall very welcoming, cool and calm, almost elegant feel to it.
