A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrome by one of the best Neurologist in Brooklyn, NY. The only remedy was very painful surgery. I had so much pain in my right hand that I could not use the mouse on my computer. I had a close friend who had the same syndrome and had the surgery to relieve the pain. It really scared me and I became very depressed. I informed my chiropractor, Erick Turk, who was treating me for some issues in my right leg due to an accident on my motorcycle that I had a few years back. He checked my right arm thoroughly and explained to me that he did not totally agree with the diagnosis. He informed me that he had treated many patients with CTS and felt that, in his opinion, that I had «something else» going on with my right hand, arm and shoulder. He sent me for some special tests (Exraies, MRIs, ect.)
Low & behold, everything pointed to a pinched nerve in my upper spine. He suggested that I see a pain management doctor who would treat me with a series of epidural injections instead of the very painful CTS surgery which also required a long recuperation period.
I chose to try the pain management that Dr. Turk recommend first, then if things didn’t work out, I would have the surgery recommended by the Neurologist.
Thank GOD i listened to him because the epidural injections, three (3) in total, worked on treating and relieving my pain.
