The food here is good, not great but good. Not my fav place to go to because they beg for a tip every time and the service isn’t all that amazing. If you finish eating and get up to use the bathroom they ask you for a tip because they think you’re leaving lol.

At first glance this place looks a little run down still yielding the name of the prior proprietor on the inner doors with a crack in the window pane. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. They make incredible sushi the hibachi is delicious. If you have time to sit and enjoy the show the hibachi cooks put on quite a good show. Their prices are decent and they have nice lunch specials. They do except credit cards $ 15 minimum.

I have worked on Staten Island for over 15 years. I am very particular about my sushi. Their fish has always tasted very fresh and I would recommend you get sushi or sashimi anytime you are here. The spicy tuna/salmon salad is one of my favorite dishes here. The duck roll is very tasty as well. The hibachi is ok, not great. The teriyaki is decent if you like that sort of thing. I don’t like maki, unless it is exceptional. The maki here is very average, but the fish in it is fresh, so I can’t complain. I would say this restaurant is my favorite Japanese restaurant on the island.

Food is one of the best Japanese cuisine here in this island. But the costumer service is very poor. Delivery orders come quick and food is hot but they lost a costumer for a Miss Print on . There was a 10 dollar coupon to use on a purchase of 50. The coupon did. It go trough online, when we called the restaurant to talk to them they told me that there was no coupon that it was expired but it was and still is online. They lost a value costumer for 10 dollars. My wife and I we love there food and we were a loyal weekly costumer. But not any more.

They had one waitress and one chef on a busy Friday night. They added 18% gratuity to my check, despite having only two people in my party. We were charged $ 2.00 extra for asking for no rice on a sushi roll $ 8.00 for two club sodas. When I politely complained to the manager in private, she said that they are not responsible for notifying us of extra charges for a special request and that she could only remove the gratuity fee(so that I could add in my own 15% tip). The manager then escorted our waitress over to our table and scolded her in front of us, telling her that she wasn’t getting a tip because we told her that she was a bad waitress. The manager was so unprofessional and treated this poor waitress like trash in front of customers. I was so uncomfortable and I am never going back.

It was about as average as average can get. Which isn’t a bad thing. Sushi was fresh and prepared well. The hibachi was, again, average. Definitely will go back again, maybe even get a delivery order.

It’s ok… Not the best sushi I’ve had but not the worst… The Japanese fried rice is good.

This review is based on the chicken pad Thai — what a let down! I’ve had this dish at many different places in the city and I know there are different variations depending on the chef. I’ve eaten here many times and thoroughly enjoyed their dishes this was not one of them. First the exhorbitant lack of chicken :(perhaps if the chef would have used tofu as it supposed to have he could have tried to disguise it, no scallion? Really? Ever had a pad Thai with out scallion? Ufffffff! Not happy here! No beans sprouts either so a plate of noodles with julienne carrots and zucchini and some shallots cost me 11 dollars? At least make it worth it no?

I am updating my review because I’ve eaten here about another 10 times since it’s close to home and I really do like it. The hibachi steak and scallops is delicious– the scallops are super fresh! The delivery is always fast but I hate that the containers that hold the food tend to leak. They still need an interior designer but I’m looking past that.

I have bad allergies and came here for a friend’s birthday. The manager was very rude about accommodating with my allergies. She did accommodate finally, but not politely and after trying to argue with me about my own allergy. «The costumer is always right»…They also have a hard time understand special request or simple questions. The sushi was alright, I have had better.

I like that you can order delivery and pick up on-line. Delivery is always really quick. Their sushi menu is not very unique or expansive, but still offers a few nice options. My favorite rolls are the Phoenix Roll and the Dancing Dragon roll. I’ve dined in a few times and the service is always solid. They haven’t done much updating since switching over from Miyako, but the location and prices work for me.

I agree with Christine, more like 3.5 stars. The sushi is solid and consistently good. I like the Phoenix Roll, the kani salad on top is very well balanced. Delivery is always very fast and they have never messed up an order. I have also dined in a few times, and the servers are friendly. The dining room doesn’t offer much in the way of décor, and the booth along the wall is very uncomfortable, but the price is right.

Gave them a try for lunch. We had a foxy lady roll which was quite good, except we had to ask for the plum sauce in the description. We each had a 3 roll special– nothing special here, the shrimp tempura was overcooked, too much rice and not enough yellowtail in the handrolls, spicy salmon pretty much tasteless, eel avocado was ok. The wait staff was attentive but there were only 2 tables occupied. They only opened recently so we might give them a try again in a few months.
