He really understands what glasses will work best on your face and pocketbook, and there are always alternatives if the price of the eyeglasses you chose are above your budget.

I scratched the lens on my glasses, and needed a repair or replacement. I went here based on the positive feedback on Unilocal.Things could not have gone better. I got my lens replaced right on the spot, at a good price, and he even fixed my crooked frames (which I previously thought couldn’t be fixed.) all the while being kind, helpful and just an absolute expert at what he does. I talked a bit with the the person he was helping before me, and even she had nothing but high praise for him. I highly recommend Visual Optique, and will definitely be back when I need a replacement or extra pair of glasses. I’m really glad I found this place.

A great neighborhood business! He was able to save my favorite pair of reading glasses, even though I had significantly damaged them. And he had a great selection of frames for me to buy a backup pair (which he then created quickly and with top quality). He gets my highest recommendation.

Based on the amazing reviews, I went in to see Felix today with not one, but two pairs of glasses that needed repair. He patiently examined each pair, replaced screws in both, and spent time heating up and adjusting the angles on one of the arms for a better fit. He also took the time to educate me on what was causing the discoloration of the arms on my one pair of lenses – apparently plastic absorbs moisture and over time, discolors. He invited me to come back whenever I need an adjustment. I paid him more than he asked as because I really felt he provided excellent service. My husband needs an eye exam soon and I’ve recommended he go to Visual Optique as he will be well taken care of.

I walked in fifteen minutes before closing time and Felix, the owner, couldn’t have been kinder. He wasn’t watching the clock one bit. I needed to have a pair of frames fixed (the screw snapped in the arm). Felix addressed the problem right away, while two other places told me they didn’t want to touch my frames because they didn’t want to drill out the screw. Felix was meticulous and had no trouble fixing my frames. Then, he went on to charge me peanuts for his time. So generous! I give this place five stars for customer service. It doesn’t get much better than this. Plus, they have a really nice selection of frames, which I was admiring while I waited. I’m definitely returning! This place is a little gem on the upper eastside. And the service they offer is unparalleled.

I highly recommend Visual Optiques. The owner Felix, is very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. My first visit was 3 yrs ago. I needed progressive lenses. Felix had them ready in 3 days
I broke the ear piece 1 Yr later and Felix fixed it for free. Not many owners would do that.
2 weeks ago I lost my glasses and I got another pair with the OVVO frames he sells. They are practically unbreakable, and very lite. I couldn’t be happier with my new glasses or the service.

I’ve been going to Felix for over a dozen years. I started when I lived in the neighborhood and still make the trip up to see him since I moved downtown to Battery Park City since no one else I’ve met provides such ultimate service. He is not only great to work with, but can fix broken frames when no one can. I’ve bought several pairs of reading glasses and sunglasses over the years and love the selection and quality. All of the friends I’ve sent to the store are also thrilled!

I purchased my last three pair of prescription glasses at this neighborhood shop, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with them. Their customer service is fantastic. They work hard to have your glasses ready quickly. It’s what keeps me coming back.

It’s a very nice experience dealing with Visual Optique. I went to them with a damaged eyeglass frame and they fixed it while I waited, and charged me just two bucks for it. I couldn’t believe this kind of courtesy existed any longer in New York. They fulfill prescriptions, they have an array of dark glasses also. From now on I will go to them for my optical needs.

The best — took my ‘troubled’ Ray Bans and got them into 100% working shape in five minutes. Absolute magic.

I was very satisfied with my progressive vision eyeglasses i got here last year so I went back and got the progressive prescription on my sunglasses as well.
Felix is very hands on and customer friendly. He appears to have extensive knowledge and experience with various types of situations so he is able to customize the service to your needs. I have gone to various bigger chain stores in Manhattan during the past 25 yrs and I have to say Felix is one of the best!

I haven’t had my eyes checked in over 10 years and I needed to find an affordable place to get an eye exam where I felt comfortable. Felix, the owner, was so so helpful and the eye doctor was thorough and gentle and made the experience pleasant and simple. Turns out I don’t really glasses (as expected) and they were honest about it even though they could have tried to sell me glasses anyway. I have recommended them to everyone I know as a great place for both the exam and a variety of glasses.

I called the day before I came in about repairing my fave pair of plastic sunglasses. Then lens had popped out of the frame and I was too scared to put it back in the frame lest it break. The guy I spoke to on the phone was really nice and said that it should take about 5 minutes to repair if the damage wasn’t too bad. I’ve never had glasses repaired before so I was expecting to pay $ 10-​$ 30. The sunglasses were free but they’re super badass, limited edition, and I got them from dancing on top of the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man for 6 hours so I was willing to shell out the money.
When I came in the man behind the counter was with another customer but he stopped to talk to me after about 2 minutes. I gave him my sunglasses, he popped it back in the frame in 10 seconds and told me I was good to go! And he never charged me when I offered to pay! Totally wasn’t expecting that, the service exceeded my expectations :-) Def would recommend this place. The staff is really nice and knows what they’re doing!
