Went there on a spur to try a new cuisine and me and some other people thought it would be a nice place after reading the reviews. As we got there we were greeted by the owner, this lady with a spunky outfit on and big sunglasses. She was really helpful and advised us on getting the lemonade and some of the dishes, which were khatachapuri, khinkali(dumplings), and the bread dish with the raw egg. The khatachapuri and the egg dish had this salty cheese on top or inside of it and it was so so. The lemonade was bit weird and the dumplings was extremely salty. Truthfully I was disappointed. And on top of everything BEWAREOFTHEPRICES. She said the the prices on the menus were during a promotional period and I thought it was suspicious but I let it go. After I got out I see that the original prices are on their van and they didn’t change any of the prices and they were still handing out those flyers with the promotional prices. She overcharged me for each of those dishes and even the lemonade. The only reason I’m giving this place two stars was because the bread was nice and hot out of the oven.

Interesting. We came here on the afternoon of New Year’s Eve which may have been a bad time to try it out. We got two types of kachipuri(cheese pies) that were totally delicious. We don’t speak Georgian or know much about Georgian food and so the staff was pretty intimidating, yelling/rushing us/and basically just walking away from us when we had a question. We weren’t able to order anything off the menu since it looked like they had some type of take out set up for the evening. Interested in giving it one more shot, or maybe even another Georgian spot in the neighborhood.

We were only able to sample cold and already prepared soups. Per the owner the gas was off so they couldn’t prepare any hot food. Our soup was presumably microwaved. Tried a spicy beef soup recommended by the owner. It was nice and light. And a cold spinach salad. That was quite delicious. She also recommended a walnut paste wrapped in eggplant. It was alright. The place is a bit run down but the food was just decent.

Very tasty and fresh food. Kids had blast having cheese imeruli khatachapuri. The cook was extremely nice and professional, cooking, serving and cleaning all by himself and with big smile. Highly recommend if you want to have cheap and tasty food.

Fresh delicious Georgian food! Try everything once to see what you like cuz everyone has different taste. My favorite is hachipuri which is freshly baked bread with feta and mozzarella cheese. Also their bread(lavash) is amazing and something entire family can share! Only $ 2.50. Try everything!

Outstanding quality. Amazing food. The owner(a mid age woman) can be a little bit nicer, while the employees are really great folks.

Having visited Georgia this past summer and tasting various fantastic meals, I got nostalgic and decided to order some khachapuri. I ordered the ajarian khachapuri(the one with the egg) and also a round khachapuri pie, and I was beyond disappointed. Maybe it’s the cheese they use or the bread, but the cheese tasted old and the bread wasn’t as soft as I expected it to be. The cheese mixture was a huge turn off for me, that I couldn’t even finish my share of it. Maybe my expectations were too high because I tried actual food from Georgia(made with different, higher quality produce than in America), but I am saddened to say that I will not go here again.

In the middle of Brooklyn, there’s a bangin’ little restaurant called We Are Georgians. It was my first experience having Georgian food and it definitely won’t be my last. I’m not even fully sure of everything I ate but all I know is that my meal was basically awesome. The food was amazing! Now I have no basis to compare but the entire experience was delightful! The owner/chef took care of us the entire time, recommending dishes and personalizing our menu! We had a really delicious cheese and pomegranate dish that really blew us all away. I would come back here in a heart beat. This place is a gem in Bensonhurst!

Visited twice within the past few weeks. The menu was in Georgian, so I do not know the name of the foods I ate. I wasn’t given the names by the workers either. Not exactly the most friendly or helpful group of people. The first time I had a beef dish(see photo). It was served with rather ordinary and slightly doughy bread baked on the premises. The quality of the beef was very good and the broth it was in was seasoned well and I found it pretty tasty. You definitively are given more bread than you need. The second time I had a hot chicken dish and cold dish that I was told consisted of chicken hearts, liver, and stomach. The hot chicken dish was very good and the cold was superb. Oddly, the hot dish was served on a plate as would be expected and the cold dish was served in a small rectangular aluminum container that would be given to someone getting food to go(see pictures). I would bump this up to three stars if the service was better. Not being able to speak or read Georgian, one would think they would be a little more accommodating answering questions. It’s difficult knowing what type of foods you’re looking at through the case and on both visits I felt as if I was not welcome asking(what sort of beef dishes do you serve?” and similar questions. There were two different people working the counter on both visits. Overall I would recommend stopping by if you’re in the area and want to try a food from a new origin. Pretty tasty, but don’t expect to feel like they really care about receiving your business.

Eh. Was recommended by a friend. Came in early afternoon but the owner had a late start. We tried ordering some of the more popular recommendations but was told it was not available that day. Ended up ordering the dumplings, soup, chicken and cheese bread. The dumplings were ok, but i prefer the chinese soup dumplings instead. The bread ended up being the size of a pizza. Smelled great, but was pretty greasy. Soup wasnt bad, but realized im not used to those type of taste flavors. Chicken was the best part. In truth, we waited a really long time for the food as the owner was the only one doing all the cooking, and you can tell it is «home made». I don’t think it is bad, just not to my family taste buds. Perhaps i came on an off day. Either way, try to support local family businesses and give them a try. Maybe it will suit you better than us.

We came in on a day when they were closed fulfilling a large order and still, they accommodated us. The khinkali(dumplings) are amazing. We also tried the chicken chashushuli(fried heart, liver and gizzards) was melt in your mouth delicious. The owners were warm and you can make out they put their heart into their cooking. Coming back for sure!

My first experience with Georgian food, and an amazing one. The place feels like a European home and the people there are fantastic. The dude behind the counter is awesome; he was telling me all about the different regions of Georgia that the food is from and how to eat the more obscure dishes. The sauces that came with the food were like nothing I’ve ever tasted; make sure you dip your food in every bit of sauce and spice that comes with it because the flavors are outstanding.

Walked in to try their food. Got a diet coke, the Russian lady thought I was going to steel it. Walked out… Little does she know that I just had bought a block away a Pinarello Italian bicycle for $ 16,000. Walked across the street having amazing Russian lamb dumbling, exactly what I hoping to find in this neighborhood.

This was my first time experiencing Georgian food thanks to a good buddy of mine. This place itself is really friendly and makes you feel like you are at home due to their heart warming workers. I like dumplings a lot so I insisted on trying their version. Once you bite in you can instantly tell that it’s freshly made to perfection. I personally concluded that I like the«khinkali» more than the russian and Chinese dumplings I’ve been eating my whole life. In a way it’s like I made a discovery into something amazing. But enough talk about the food. The restaurant itself is pretty clean and set up in a way to achieve your maximum satisfaction. I recommend coming here because I will definitely be visiting again.

I loved it. We went there for lunch and got the eggplant appetizer, the khinkali which was mind blowing, it’s like a Georgian soul dumpling. I could eat them forever. Also got the baked chicken which was in a delicious broth. Everyone should go here and experience the atmosphere and the food.

Let’s go deep on the name. It’s not a place or a city. It’s not a cultural artifact or something that you only get in a country. No, it’s «We Are Georgians.» This is a place defined by the people inside. The restaurant, such as it is, feels like a kitchen lifted from a provincial capital across the world and placed in Brooklyn. When I was there family members were on both sides of the space that divided the employee area and the part for customers. Some were eating, others were working. Some who started out doing one were doing the other by the time we left. Our primary waitress — this is one of those old school places where it appears that the women take the order while the men bring the food — was all smiles, with gentle inquiries about how we knew to come this far out into Brooklyn. I told her about my experience in Georgia a few years back, and how I’ve made it a small personal mission to try as many places as possible. The best news I had for this woman was after the meal, where I’m happy to report this is my favorite khachapuri in the bourough. It combines real fresh from the oven bread(a nice oven is paramount when making the dish) with salty cheese and butter. Sure, it’s decadent — the dish that makes you wonder how anyone eats in Georgia for more than a week — but oh so tasty. The khinkali, with their Hershey kiss swirl tops and fragrant mutton inside, also were on point. It was just my sister and I so we were limited as to what we could have. Besides those two dishes, it was simply a big bottle of Georgian mineral water, the very popular Borjomi. We even had two slices of khachpuri for a very, very good late night snack.

There is something about a well-made dumpling that can eclipse almost all other pleasures. This was my first experience with Georgian cuisine, and the first khinkali I’d ever had. However, I traipse all over this monster of a city for dumplings, momo, pierogi, steamed buns… if it involves dough and filling, I’ll go anywhere(except Staten Island or New Jersey) to eat it. I’m not exactly sure what’s in the khinkali, but the flavor is subtle and delicate, and the meaty-juice-gravy inside – it’s the taste of happiness. I haven’t sampled anything else on the menu, but will certainly be back. This one is worth the trip.

Food was fantastic. In fact we went back after dessert and got some Khinkali(frozen) to eat at home. The place was tiny and had a few tables, felt very homely. The owners were super friendly and hung out and talked to us(we were the only people in the place on a late-ish monday night). We got Khinkali and Khachapuri and a lamb dish that was delightful.
