I really love this place. Great, laid back atmosphere and people, mixed crowd, good jukebox.

Agreed w previous reviewer re aggressive bartender. This would otherwise be a fave bar on our list if not for the bartender being unreasonably demanding for what should be a laidback local dive bar. Dude needs to chill. That being said, great juke!

go to after work spot. get their before 7 or after 9 on a week night and it’s great. i actually like their sister bar(tile bar in the EV) better. less cluttered and doesn’t get hit so hard since there’s so much more over there.

The quintessential NYC Dive Bar experience. The bartender was efficient and didn’t engage much, just poured perfect pints and read the NY Post while watching golf. When asked for food spots, he suggested one of the best burger spots in NYC. I love spending time there, sipping on Stella, and listening to Miles Davis.

The worst bartender ever. He was grumpy and refused to serve us for NOREASON. Just don’t waste your time there.

I would say this place is casual, but not necessarily a «dive». Great drink prices($ 6 for a pint of Sixpoint!) and a cool atmosphere. Excellent jukebox with a lot of classic rock favorites. The bartender was attentive enough. One bathroom, but it was in good shape. I would definitely come back here for a pint.

Jukebox stole my money, and owner acted like it was possible I was lying instead of just giving me my money back. Not cute. And just. .. eyeroll. Cowgirl nearby, White Horse Tavern – check those out instead.

Casual bar. Unpretentious. Friendly bartenders. Cheap drinks. This place looked like a laundromat from the outside. I was meeting my friend here, and didn’t even read the sign because it just didn’t look like w bar. Well, once I figured things out, was happy I came. This place was a regular West-Village bar. Maybe the clients were a bit more mature in age. And that night there were a group speaking very loudly in French. Obviously, the word is out kn this bar. Still, it’s unassuming, fun and laid back. Would check it out! Not exciting but definitely a place to have a drink w friends

Great bar with an excellent jukebox(Otis Redding, Prince, Jeff Buckley are my rotation) and a good vibe. One of my favorites.

Best jukebox in the city. Low-key and divey(perfect). Relatively few crappy people in here(also awesome). Decent beer(probably their worst quality). Cash only.

I have been going to WXOU for more years than I can remember. As the landscape of the City continues to morph into a giant Wal-Mart for rich people, it’s nice to know a dive bar like WXOU can still survive. WXOU is a cash-only hole in the wall, boasting one of the best jukeboxes in all of Manhattan. With just a few tables and seats at the bar, it’s the perfect neighborhood dive to catch up with friends and throw back a few hundred drinks until you run out of money. The whopping $ 3ATM fee should hopefully serve as a deterrent from you staying out any longer than absolutely necessary. Always a good crowd here. The«Cash Only — No Red Bull» sign seems to be all that’s needed to keep the amateurs out.

The Radio Bar is unquestionably the Crown Jewel of all West Village bars, and the Grand Poobah of Dive Bars in all of Manhattan! There is always a lively(but never rowdy) crowd, and the best juke box in the city. The staff is great and consistently cool, whether you are there on a Wednesday afternoon or a Saturday night. It’s a place that I frequented often when I lived in NY, and I place I always stop into whenever I am back there. Good times, all times!

Straight up dive in all the best ways. Good music, good beer, good crowd. I think the«NOREDBULL» sign keeps all the you-know-whos away. By the time happy hour is over this place is packed. Cash Only.

Cute place, decent draft selection. Nice jukebox. Seem to be a lot of regulars. Was there on a Saturday afternoon and someone had their baby in a giant baby carrier there, so I guess this is kid friendly. If you sit in one of the booths, the benches are really, really hard and the backs a little too upright. I did like the sign that said«No Red Bull» because I think that might effectively screen 75% of d-bags. It is a nice, relaxed place where you can sit and talk and have a drink or two. Cash only.
