Best kept secret in NY. Amazing cocktails, divine atmosphere ~ romantic and great music. Try the bartenders recommendations. You cant go wrong. Food yummy Chicken skewers, zucchini pancakes, hummus pizza are delightful. Shayan is the best bartender ever! He can mix up whatever your flavor to a whole different level of tastes and discerning flavors. He has an arsenal of flavor essences to elevate your cocktail to new dimensions. Do not muss this spot . A step back in time and a step to the future.

I was so happy to discover this little gem the other day. It’s a very relaxed vibe — not cramped and noisy, so it’s perfect for winding down and catching up with friends. Love the old school décor and the cocktails are truly delicious. I had an amazing Singapore Sled followed by an equally delicious Pisco Sour. My friend wanted to try something new and the woman behind the bar was happy to invent something for him based on the flavours he said he likes.

Cocktails are simply amazing! Great place for a drink after dinner and we didn’t need to yell at each other to have conversation. Staff was really on top of their game. This may be our new favorite place!

This place continues to be one of the underrated and under-the-radar gems of the west side’s cocktail scene. It gets docked for service, but I’ve never encountered any problems. If you’re a civilized professional going for a casual after work cocktail, you’ll find the service to be more than satisfactory.

Bartender is f*** rude! Nice place but not worth it. Should’ve checked the reviews before coming.

Cocktails are good and the place is super nice, but service is awful. I don’t understand why they still have this awful people bartending this incredible bar, definitely will not go again, plus they always seem to be right. Why don’t you check the reviews? It seems that people agree on the AWFUL service these people provide. The guy bartender that was tonight, 2÷19÷2016, was a total prick and not only with us. We were a group of 3 and independently, had issues with each one of us. Then he would gossip with the other girl bartenders in our face, omg the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. It was the last time we went to this bar and never got to order drinks, service was too aggressive and awful, we just wanted to have a good time instead of having to deal with difficult ppl. My recommendation? Go to another bar, there are plenty of good ones in the area with decent service and amazing drinks!

A brilliant and refreshing setting for a bar and but expect average service. I only ordered the Colonel(tequila, lemon, honey) and Danube and(vodka, lime, mint, and soda) and both are recommended if you like those ingredients. I suppose you could ask off the menu but that seems to defeat the purpose of the bar. Likewise, although there was an okay small beer and wine selection, I would stick with cocktails from the menu. I didn’t evaluate the food but again I wouldn’t go above something to share. I wasn’t impressed by the service. I was treated nicely but others were given the famous New York hospitality. The bartender this night was new and was trying to close early as a result of low traffic and in the process turned a couple of people away. I don’t hold it against them but if you’re not from New York you’ve been warned. It’s slightly out of the way and small enough to serve as a local cocktail bar and keeps out the bros. If I lived in the neighborhood I’d be a regular.

4.5 Agatha Christie themed cocktail bar. I’m a book worm. And a cocktail fan. Great ambiance. Wish the bartender had been a bit more friendly and helpful.

Nice, cozy bar with decent drinks. We ordered a bunch of cocktails. They were all very good and quite strong. The ambiance is like we are inside an old train — very quaint. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. It gets pretty crowded though, so get there early if you want to get a table.

We came here for drinks tonight and were seated quickly. The ambiance was pleasant, but the service wasn’t. After noticing a hint of chlorine in our water, we simply asked the server, Abigail, for bottled water. When she explained that there was none, we just asked for new glasses and were given a sharp attitude, as if we offended her. I noticed she was irritated, and tried to explain, but was rudely dismissed. I’m sorry we offended her, but I made an effort to be as polite as possible. It’s a shame she didn’t.

I came here on last friday night. The ambiance is just wonderful. I ordered the cocktail(from an interesting cocktail list) called Mata Hari. It was very good one that i can recommend it for sweet cocktail drinkers. Bartenders Orhun and Dawn was really knowledgable. Amy was a great server and helped us a lot. I highly recommend this spot, especially if you have a date.

Just rude. Closed early even google map and Unilocal says they close at 1 am. We arrived at 11.46 pm, and just before we entered the door the lady in stripes said that they are closed .Sad, we Walked all the way down 11 street.

Went for cocktails on a Saturday night. The place was nice and the drinks were good, but the tall bartender with a buzzed head was a super prick. He aggressively ignored us(and other people who were trying to flag him down) multiple times and when I tried to pay the tab and leave, he refused to let me. After I stood up and waved my credit card around to get his attention, he finally acknowledged me by gesturing for me to sit back down and said«RELAX!» Then he made me wait some more before he finally gave me a bill, on his own personal schedule. I kind of wish I’d walked out instead of waiting to pay.

I used to love this place! We had our engagement party here and love stopping by whenever we can. However, last night was a different story. We encountered the rudest bartender! He was awful to our group and then kicked us out as we were getting up to leave. We were a large group and would have liked to stay however the bartender couldn’t be bothered to make us drinks. My friend asked for water 3 different times and the bartender made him say please twice before getting the water. Such a terrible experience. As he was telling us to leave, he said it was last call… and I asked him what time it closed. He said«right now… so leave». It was 12:00 am. We will NEVER go back here!

Not the best bar in Manhattan. But: — Cute — Intimate — Good(but not exceptional) drinks I keep coming back(a few times a month at least) because it’s a downtown Manhattan bar that’s easy to get to, but is almost always pretty quiet. While The Garret has a crush at the bar, or Employees Only has a line of Jersians outside, this place will get you a seat at a table and a drink in your hands within the first 10 minutes of arriving. A gem.

You simply have to go here. Décor is just cool — all 1930’s/40’s train car. We went on a Tuesday night, and there were a few people there, but it was not crowded whatsoever. Bartender was fun and engaging. When we told him what type of liquors and tastes we liked, then crafted cocktails for us. Each one had like 10 steps to make it, and they tasted like heaven! Great music as well. Will totally go back!

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review for OE! I really like this place, so cute and candle lit, never too crowded, and if you’re at a loss for a cute spot for a cocktail, or to catch up with a friend, or for a date — this is the perfect spot! Tucked away, low key, very old school(but classy) décor, and great servers. Kind of has a speakeasy vibe, without the cheesiness. Really can’t go wrong!

As soon as I heard about this place, I *had* to check it out. I was such a fan of «Murder on the Orient Express» back as a kid and have read the book several times and seen the movie version as well. I was tickled pink that the drinks on the menu included references to Agatha Christie, death on the orient express, and the infamous detective, Hercule Poirot. ;P I had the Agatha(how could one not when one is here) which was a gin and citrus juice blend and my date had a «From Russia with Love»(like the film) and a beer. The waiter also gave us a small sample of tequila being aged in the mini barrel on the bar. My first taste of tequila ever. It was rather good. The speakeasy style bar looks and feels like a train car, with luggage, old music and antique décor to match. There are several ceiling fans going which give the place the feeling of momentum and movement like a train car. The place is definitely a *transporting* speakeasy, pun fully intended. The place is a cute, quiet and intimate place for a date. Despite the thematic nature of the bar, it did not feel like a tourist place but very much a secretive locals hang out kind of place.
