Avoid if have babies/kids… Walked in there with a one year old… Guy behind the counter(owner?) seemed visibly upset that I rolled in with a stroller and all. Zero help/accomodation/understanding. Pizza was all right though, so two stars.

Decent slices but the tables are too close to one another here.

So we did the whole picnic in Central Park, and to accomplish that, we bought food from three(3!) places. The first two were from old standby’s, Pic Up Stix( ) and Zorba’s. Despite the higher than normal prices, I loved eating at Zorba’s for the quality ingredients. This time was no different. Each slice was $ 4, but totally worth it. We ordered two slices, one margherita and one BBQ chicken. The slices are huge and piled with toppings. The margherita pizza is the best I’ve ever had. It comes with fresh sauce, huge slices of cheese and tomatoes, and an entire sprig of basil to garnish. The BBQ chicken features a healthy heaping of chicken mixed with onions, peppers and BBQ sauce, and that’s put on top of a plain slice. I love how they’re willing to use both the BBQ and the tomato sauce; most BBQ chicken pizzas forgo the(in my opinion) necessary tomato sauce that makes a pizza.

walking out of japan day and feeling like the world was crashing around me we dragged ourselves down lex. — the first hole in the wall was the solution to our prayers and oh my GOD i am in love. i am reminding myself to not gush because it was potentially alcohol blur that is making me believe that this place is gods gift to mankind… loving loving. i mean truly loving the cheese calzone! but when i wanted some extra onions, the zorba-owner-person said no. a simple no — it wasn’t a maybe-lets-talk-about-u-giving-me-a-dollar for some extras. it wasn’t a no i’m out of onions and u have wierd taste no. it was a strong, complete NO. so i’m a fan but this is not as good as it gets.

friggin awesome. this is what ny pizza is all about. it probably wasn’t there since the depression and whatever but this is a damn good piece of pizza. in ny, it’s all about that amazing crust that you can’t get anywhere else and this place has down to a science. us out of towners are always looking to get something on top, but to get the real flavor and wonderfulness that is ny thin crust, get the plain. i’ll be going back in july and you bet i’ll be eating zorba’s at least twice.
