This restaurant has new staff and new chef. It is definitely not the same as before the retrofit. If you are not staying at the Hotel, this place should be avoided. We ate here twice and service was inattentive and ignorant. The food has gone down hill. Soggy Pizza and cold french fries. Hopefully management can resurrect their investment in the facilities. It is a pity money was put into improving the facilities rather than investing in the previous excellent staff.

I’ve only been here on 2−3weekend nights. The atmosphere is energetic. The crowd ranges from late +20s, usually 35 – 55. Looks like a fun place I would go with friends if I were older. I come here to eat. I recommend the fries with an aioli dip and poke, especially the poke. Prepared very well and served with side crispy chips. Not really a fan of the fried calamari, mine was kinda soggy. I would definitely come back for the food, but it took a while for it to come out(probably because I came at a time when people were ordering just drinks). My server was fine, but it took a while to get her attention since she was talking and laughing at the register with the other servers. Nonetheless, food so far is great!

This restaurant features a hidden gem — SUSHI. Came on a Friday night and the DJ had the bar fully packed. The late night menu featured different rolls like spicy tuna roll, and as special requested a salmon and fresh eel roll and yellowtail! Loved it so much came back the next day for more! This time, I was able to try tuna, uni, Spanish mackerel, and sea bream… All accompanied by different sauces and toppings, it was absolutely delicious! Kudos to the sushi chef Kim, you rule!

Recently had dinner/drinks at Bistro 880. While the ambiance appeared high end, the service was less than adequate with only one server working the entire dining area and one bartender. It took almost 20 minutes to have our order taken and the server was not able to answer basic questions about the menu. There were at least two tables of customers who left the restaurant because they were tired of waiting for someone to take their order. Our drinks were $ 14 a piece for short glasses… that seemed very high for the size of the drink… we had to flag the server down to get a second round of drinks(think of the revenue losses for this place?)…with all that said, this place has possibilities… just needs maybe some improved management/oversight to address the staffing issue and also to make sure the servers know the menu well enough to help customers decide what to get… a good server could really do some easy upselling with a captured hotel audience. I don’t think it was the server’s fault… he was limited on what he could really do with the volume of customers he was having to wait on… and while I know food/drinks at hotels are notoriously more expensive, I think making sure the drink is worth what is being charged should be considered… drop the price a little and you will probably sell twice the volume of drinks… you will make it up on volume… the wings with the sweet chili sauce were delish!

Kid-free on a Friday night hmmmm where to go for some fun? I tried Bistro 880 and Fun is what I had. The DJ was great! He had everybody dancing. The bar is big, the people are not just hotel guests they are locals, I came by myself but ended up meeting 4 greet people and we danced the night away! I hear they have a live band once a month. Good fun, no cover charge! Saturday is supposed to be good too! Let’s see

Service great! Food good. Beware the happy hour 16 oz drafts are barely 12 oz. Got a 12 oz. Bottle. It didn’t even fill their«16 oz» glass. Guessing their regular 15 oz ones are served in same 12 oz glass. Cheaper to buy by bottle.

Ridiculous. Glad I never have to come here again. I hope you don’t plan on drinking at this bar cause you will never get a drink., and the bar tender was very inconvenienced to serve customers.

We came here for a happy hour dinner on a Friday night. The food’s quite tasty! Together, we had the chicken gyoza potsticker, the crunchy roll, the chef’s local cheese board, the 880 burger, and the sweet chili wings. The sweet chili wings were nicely cooked, and the chef’s local cheese board was very tasty(especially the olive bread!). The restaurant is located inside the Doubletree Hotel, and has relatively nice ambience. You can sit at a regular table or on couches. The bar seems well-stocked and attended, and our service was great and fast. Overall, definitely recommend if you’re in the area and are looking for a nice, chic dinner place with some good food options.

Stayed at the doubletree so had dinner here. Service was inadequate and slow, even in an empty restaurant at 7 on Thursday night. I ordered the fish and chips, what a mistake! Was 90% breading and 10% fish(Maybe). This place missed the mark and didn’t live up to other reviews. Be aware if you eat here.

Well it’s nice here & good music. Good quality food but tiny portioned sushi. What got me was the guy who tried to charge me $ 60 for a $ 12 plate of sushi. I saw the bill for me & kids snack to be $ 100& almost punched the guy in the face lol. Took a few to talk with manager to correct this. Wonder if this is normal expecting people to to check the bill and pay whatever it states. Could be a scam too where this guy makes extra cash haha I dunno Too bad this place has potential to be a cool spot. Tuna roll & Cali roll were ok. 5 piece nigiri was tiny. Cheese plate looked cool but basic Swiss and peppercorn cheese or some kind. Needed few more cheeses but that was tasty. My corrected bill was $ 44 and left hungry lol

Gr8 Service I was here for a week and the bartenders were first class, Megan, Nick were the best. in the Restaurant Shana and Angela were superb and all complimented the food which was above average hotel food. When the live band played the crowd was lively and entertaining. Diverse crowd.

Amazing food! Everything on the menu of top notch. The executive chef even came to the table to ensure everything was perfect! Will definitely be stopping here every time I’m in town! They also have an extensive bar and excellent sushi section. My friend ordered the sashimi for 2 and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Great for corporate meetings and events as well!

********************** 1459 ********************* Bistro 880 is a newly remodeled restaurant. It offers breakfast buffet, lunch, and dinner, as well as a 4 seats sushi bar. Limited menu at lunch time, typical hotel food, high price for what it offers. The bar offers happy hour 4 – 7 pm, $ 8 of some dishes, wines, and beer. The shrimp and calamari was good and generous portion at happy hour, only $ 8, regular menu at $ 13. The Sushi Bar at Bistro 880 should have its own Unilocal page. I was skeptical looking at the menu, $ 35 for a 5 course tasting, it can’t be good. In fact so many Indian and middle eastern restaurants around here cater to that crowd, what a sushi bar doing in the middle of this corporate hotel, I wondered! After our dinner feast at Seoul Tofu House nearby, and the happy hour, mom and I were curious. We decided to order the Sushi Tasting Menu. I was impressed but the first dish, Black Sea Bass, Japanese Suzuki w/onion topping and special sauce, beautifully presented, it was fresh and tasty. I talked to chef because his style is definitely not 1 of those nearby cheesy sushi places where they put sauce and siracha on everything! I was right. He got skill, in fact chef Hewon Kim was from Roka Akor in San Francisco, worked under chef Mike Lim. He is young but got some skill and knows his fish! The 2nd course was the Happy Spoon with oyster, roe, unj, and sauce, all in 1 bite. The 3rd course was 5 pieces of nigiri sushi, all from Japan, individually topping, fresh, distinctively good, packed w/flavor. The rice could be less firm though. The 4th course was the lobster ball soup. Half was lobster chunk meat and half was ground lobster, than fried it, served with sine light veggies in a light and clear broth. Nicely presented in a lovely wooden pot. The 5th course was the lemon Yuzu lemon bar, light and delicious. Chef Hewon Kim was nice, gracious, and surely explained to us each dish. My mom and I truly enjoyed all the dishes. We hope they are not doubling the price when the restaurant is grand opening in December 2015. I will drive 22 miles here to have chef Hewon Kim feeds me! The Sushi Bar at Bistro 880 is surely a great addition to this area.

I was staying at the adjacent hotel and the breakfast here was the best part of my stay. The omelette station was awesome! Staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

We went for opening night, the food was top notch. The bar and service were what you would expect for opening night, the staff was learning their menu and the bar was still not 100% stocked. It will take them a couple of months to work out the bugs, but they will get there. I hope to go on Friday and Saturday night for dancing and a DJ. It’s definitely a cool place with leather couches, updated bar and nice staff.

Wanna know why it’s called 880? Because it’s right off the 880 highway! Lol! But I actually am not sure if that’s the real reason. 880 Bistro is located right inside Double Tree Hotel right off of Stevenson. Once you enter, it has a really high ceiling with a chandelier! It’s a wide open space with a lot of comfy couches with a bar. The servers are really friendly too! My friends and I came here & ordered the 880 burger with fries($ 14). The 880 burger is your regular burger with bacon. My friend & I agreed the burger is missing a sauce to tie it together. Burgers comes along with condiments in a tiny bottle! Which is really cute! Talked to server & she said that on Tuesdays, they have a live band! Friday & Saturday nights, they alternate between a dj & a live band so you can definitely boogie down & dance the night away! Honestly, the food is 3.5 but the service bumped it up to 4! Definitely had a great experience & I’m excited to attend the dance nights!
