For Fremont, this place is pretty great. It’s sort of in a dead area, but should be getting livelier soon after the completion of the Globe. It’s a cute, family run café with delicious Vietnamese food and smoothies. I’ve come here to study for a few times and grab a banh mi and it’s a great location for that. If you’re in the area, it’s an excellent option for lunch or a snack as there is always ample parking and almost never a wait. They also have a ton of TVs if you want to come by and watch sports, although maybe not so great for studying…

I came here to have lunch today after attempting to go to Taro Taro. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a parking spot as it was in the middle of the lunch peak period on a Saturday afternoon. Yes, there has been a management change. It is obvious from the last time that I ate here about two and a half years ago. It used to be a fast food place, where you order and serve yourself. Instead, it has changed to a restaurant where you are served. I had the shaking beef with rice. I would say that it was good as I had never had it before. It was pricey though considering the restaurant is in Newark. What made me give this place such a low grade is the price for their ice Vietnamese coffee. $ 4.50 for a regular size! Are you kidding me? Who charges that much, especially in the Tri-City area? That is way too much. The service was lacking. The waiter asked a few times how was it and did I need anything else. I said«No.» I will say that I was tired of him by the time that he asked me the fifth time. I would suggest skipping this place. I would be so surprised if the place lasts more than six to nine months. It is never good when there are more family members eating here than customers. With this place, it is the case.

I’m sad they changed ownership because the old owners were so sweet and helpful, but so are these owners too! The food is just as good so I’d still come here. I love the lemon grass chicken rice plate with egg. The smoothies are a little expensive though, but it was the best honeydew smoothie I’ve ever had. Still a good Vietnamese place in Fremont! And for those who were missing the steak spaghetti, it’s still on the menu!

The Sandwiches here are legit. So my review is based solely on that. The filet mignon with egg is a must try. But the go to here. Is the #4 grilled pork sandwich. This thing comes with a wonderful lemongrass marinated pork that doesn’t eat or feel heavy. It comes with the usual toppings. Daikon. Carrots. Jalapeños. Cilantro. Mayo and a great baguette. Sandwich isn’t skimpy either. Well worth the six bucks you’ll spend.

Their Ban Mi sandwiches are the best around. My wife and I have tried many different places but theirs are truly extraordinary. Great price too! If you want a great lunch or dinner come by here. You’ll get hooked! I marked good for kids because they’ll make grilled cheese ban mi’s. My 6 year old said it’s the best food she ever ate.

Came here for their sandwiches and was not disappointed at all. The portion was big and the pork was on point. Would definitely come back to try other things as well.

Like others have said about this place recently, their Bahn Mi sandwiches are delicious! the bread is fresh and soft, the cilantro is fresh and crispy, and the meat is very good. The pricing is ridiculously low, and there is ample parking right outside the restaurant. You can also customize your sandwich with add ons as well! I stopped in here on a whim last week as I was in the area, but I’ll definitely be back for more Bahn Mi sandwiches!

I loved coming here for happy hour, steak spaghetti & the piña colada. However, after the new change in management, the ever so popular steak spaghetti is no more! Happy hour ceased to exist! Despite these changes, I stayed to give it a shot. I was seriously looking forward to the steak spaghetti. Since it’s no longer an item, it took me a few minutes to look over the menu. The cashier was patient with me as I was deciding what to order. Finally, I ordered the lemon grass chicken vermicelli with a piña colada smoothie. As I waited, I looked around to see what else about the place changed. There is now a painting over the old menu & the book menus changed as well. The place is still roomy but business was slow during the time I went(which was mid-afternoon). One of the other workers came out from the back to make my drink & it turns out, they ran out of pineapple! Needles to say, my hopes & dreams were squashed flat. I asked for a refund(I paid with card) & she gave me cash & apologized. I always look forward to eating the vermicelli & drench it with the sauce. This time around, I didn’t care too much for the sauce. It was a bit bland which ruined the vermicelli for me. The lemon grass chicken saved the meal. Tender & juicy & flavorful. It might be a while until I decide to come back!

I come here because it’s conveniently located for me but I always feel bad whenever I do because the restaurant is always so empty(horrible location). They have free Wi-Fi so I use it whenever I’m waiting for my to-go order but they’re always very quick so I never have the chance to really sit there and enjoy the internet. I always order the Vietnamese chicken sandwich and for the price, it’s not bad. The bread is warm and not too hard, unlike other Vietnamese sandwich restaurants, and the meat(despite what another reviewer said) isn’t stale. Try to bring cash because there is a $ 8 minimum for credit cards.

This place had changed ownership several times, I haven’t been back here for a while. I decided to come back and try their steak and egg sandwich and the fried yam. The flavor is there, I love the mixed green in the sandwich, portion is good for the price, the egg could be improved to an op-la style instead of a crêpe. Overall, it was good. They are currently changing the menu, I will come back and try other items.

I don’t know how many different establishments have been in this spot since I first came here 10 years ago. Everything but World Gourmet seems super dead. I tried the Pork/Pâté Banh Mi and the Shrimp Spring Rolls. It all tasted normal. The bread in the banh mi wasn’t rock hard but I’ve definitely had better. The spring rolls were average but the sauce was good. It was your normal peanut sauce but they add chili sambal and pickled daikon/carrots in it so it’s chunky. We were the only ones inside ordering on a Saturday and it took semi-long so I think they do make it with care. If you’re looking to eat lunch in a not so crowded spot, here it is.

$ 5 for a. stalled meat … & tasteless sandwich? Hm, I think I should recollect my logic before I act on my cravings next time. Wanted some vietnamese sandwich for dinner & the price(posted on the site & my Unilocalers) looked decent so we decided to come here since T&D was closed. Turns out the posted pricing were expired & they had raised the price to $ 4.50 for a regular sandwich & $ 5 something for a specialty sandwich. We ended up getting the combo meal #3: a bbq pork sandwich, calamari & passion fruit green tea(no sweeten) & a specialty lemongrass chicken sandwich. The bbq Pork sandwich was HORRIBLE! The meat tasted like it has been sitting out for at least 3 days(i should know, i was a desperate broke college student once relying on my parent’s packed food for a week). And the pâté doesn’t even taste like pâté. The calamari were over-fried & smaller than my pinky. The green, was fine actually. Can’t go wrong with green tea. The lemongrass sandwich tasted a little better, but even then, it was def not worth $ 5.50 for it. Overall, we paid $ 20 for a pretty bad meal, where we could’ve saved $ 5 bucks for a much better one at T&D or Lee’s Sandwiches.

My first Unilocal review! Yeeee buddy. Lol. Now onto some seriousness(is that a word?) This place was a pleasant suprise! My friend and I came here around 3:40pm for some nom noms. The place was pretty empty. Mostly takeouts by this time. Neither of us have ever tried banh mi before. We both got the filet mignon banh mi, except mine had egg in it. I have to say, it was quite delicious! The meat was flavorful, and the sandwich was huge! The bread was quite soft as well, and it tasted really fresh and light! But quite filling at the same time. Loved the jalapenos in it, added a nice kick! Definitely gonna come back for it! I also ordered the Thai ice tea, which was like any other Thai tea, but delicious nonetheless. Maybe a little too much boba but that didn’t really bother me. Service was fine. We got our food pretty quick. The interior was like a café and clean. Bathrooms were clean too, always a bonus! One thing I liked about this place was that we came close to closing time, and we stayed past it too. They didn’t notify us that they were closed nor did they ask us to leave. I thought that was sweet! Definitely will come again!

Ok, but a bit bland! We ordered our food to go. I got a chicken Bahn mi and my husband got a pork Bahn mi. They labeled the sandwiches wrong and I almost ate pork(which I do not eat) so I was not too happy about that! The bread was fresh and the meat was good but the sandwich was a little bland. I also ordered a thai bubble tea which was pretty good! Our order came to around $ 13. A little more expensive then we can get other places. I would not avoid this place but I would not go out of my way to go here again. Meaning I may return if I am in the area!

For lunch today, my coworker and I checked out the Hearts Café. He got the combination banh mi xa xiu(shredded sweet roasted pork) + a coffee and I got the filet mignon banh mi. I was skeptical at first but that first bite erased all doubt from my mind. The filet mignon was moist, tender, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. It doesn’t come with typical condiments like pickled carrots but has cilantro, jalapenos(which I took out) and pickled onions. Both of our meals cost a total of $ 6.49 each. I think that’s a good deal. Check it out. Tastes a lot better than a subway!

On my first rendezvous here was up to par, I had the softest VIetnamese sandwich I have ever had. It doesn’t poke your gums from hard bread(or you could call it baguette) crumbs, either. Their wondrous BBQ pork and the steak sandwiches were phenomenal! I know my banh mi. There are an abundance of drink choices you can select from that is served in large glass. Fantastic smoothie choices with boba. No one ever knows why this restaurant is constantly changing its ownership. First it was The Hearts Café then now it’s The NEW Heart’s Café. The ownership changed twice in less than a year. I have frequent here numerous of times because it’s nearby my work(about 2 mins. drive). The only disadvantage is the change of ownership, which is why I gave it a 3 star. They won’t accept my certificate I purchased from . I was greatly disappointed but I got over it overtime. Then now they do not not accept sandwich stamp card(buy 10 get one free) anymore because of new ownership?! I was on my 9th when I handed it to them. The food got progressively worse that their bread is starting to get hard as a rock each time I come here. Not so fresh anymore? I wish this place is as consistent as my first encounter before the new change of proprietorship.

This is my favorite place to get my Taro milk tea fix, it is SO fucking amazing. Mind you… I have a huge sweet tooth and this milk tea literally tastes like melted taro ice cream; so for those a little more sensitive to sugar their milk tea might be too sweet for you. Taro is also made in it’s own pitcher though, so the other flavors might not be as sweet as well. Anyways! The food here is pretty good too! The Bahn Mi, fillings are decent where the baguette they choose accompany it with is ‘meh’ in my opinion. which makes the sandwiches a skip for me. The rice plates however, are really good. but I do believe(not positive) they’re filled with MSG because I feel as if my energy has almost completely depleted after finishing my meal Overall I’m super thankful for the taro milk tea that I’ve been blessed enough to try

It felt like a pretty Americanized Vietnamese café inside. The menu, the décor, the prices. The prices were a little higher than what I was used to. Usually a Vietnamese ham sandwich is 3.25 with no tax from milpitas or San Jose. The same viet ham sandwich is roguishly 4.30 after tax here. I ordered the BBQ pork and egg sandwich was was 5.40 after tax. Though the sandwich can sort of justify the price, since it was longer and more filled than usual. Overall the taste was pretty good but you’re paying for better quality. My only complaint is not enough pickled daikon and carrots in my sandwich :(.
