I go to this place about once a month for the buffet. This place has plenty of selection of both vegetarian and meat dishes. The service is good. The buffet price includes soda. The best part is the mango ice cream at the end.

Long overdue writing a review on this place! This is my to go to place when I’m craving Indian food! My husband never tried Indian food before coming here but fell in love and now we visit frequently! I love they have lots of variety here. The meat is quality and fresh. I really have never had a bad experience here. The servers are always polite and attentive and you never have to ask for drinks or naan. I really love this place. Also their mango ice cream is the bomb! My go to Indian buffet. Oh and did I mention how reasonably priced it is too! Love this place!!!

One of my favorite Indian restaurants… The food is pretty generic but they offer all sorts of Indian cuisine. Their kitchen is huge and cater for any large amount of people. They have all variety of Indian food, but it isn’t something special. What is special about this place is their party hall. It is not bad big but it has a nice dance floor. The dance floor is surrounded by large mirrors. The DJ is still good but not as great as it used to be(DJ baller). The atmosphere of this party hall is absolutely great. They have their full bar open at all times. It’s quite fancy with the woodwork and large enough to company 7 – 8 people at the same time. The seating area is spread out and surrounds the dance floor. The dance floor is lower so you have to take 2 – 3 steps to get to it. The lighting is fantastic as well. Big speakers are all setup around the place. Giving it a 4⁄5 stars because the food isn’t that good but the party hall makes up for it.

Surprisingly high quality food for a buffet. The chicken wasn’t dried out in any of the dishes, and most notably the chicken tandoori, which is sometime dry even in non-buffet restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken and chicken curry, and overall, there is a great selection of various Indian dishes here. There were also a fair amount of Indian people dining in as well as a huge catered party next door, so I’d say this a good place to stop for good quality and authentic Indian food.

Went there for a lunch buffet. The food was ok. We had their vegetarian selection. So nothing good, nothing bad. Our friends who eat non-vegetarian food had positive reviews about this place.

So a few of my coworkers decided to come here for our company Christmas dinner white elephant party. Since its in the east bay I was ecstatic to see what’s in store for for the night. I arrived a bit early for our dinner party so a few of us say in the car and had a few rounds of Cognac while we waited. Little do I know it was time to go in. This place has ample parking and a big dining area for the all the buffet lovers. We had reserved a room in the back and the night began. Quite a assortment of options and great flavors. I did enjoy a couple plates and wanted more but by that time the gift stealing was happening and the alcohol was coming in. Although I can’t remember all the food choices that was there, it taste really good. Will have to go back and try it again to update my review better. So I’ll be back to review. Come back and see what I think.

I visited this place for buffet last week. The taste of dessert was awesome. You should increase some spicy levels in your dishes.

Very rude service!!! There is an old guy who just threw the spoons in front of us while picking up the plates. He was also staring at us as if he wanted us to leave. Food was decent but that doesn’t mean they have to behave that way towards customers… Will never go there again

Indian buffet!!! Love their mutton curry and freshly made Nan bread. Price is a tad pricy, but don’t mind paying the extra, since almost all the dishes are very tasty. Comes with drinks and mango ice cream. Enjoy watching their Indian videos that they screen. Seems ridiculous, but the laugh can always helps with the digestion.

Came here for the dinner buffet. All the non veg items tasted the same, but no complains over there. The party that was happening there was fantastic though. So, will definitely book this place for a party in future but will not come back for dinner buffet. All in all, 3 stars for this place.

I was very satisfied with my first dining experience at Bombay Garden. I came on a Saturday night with a group of 6 and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is spacious and I really liked their décor. I like that they use these long, golden pots to serve food at the buffet. My favorites were the butter chicken, rice pudding dessert and garlic naan. It was about $ 16 per person. Definitely ate more than $ 16 worth of food.

Came for Saturday lunch. We were seated immediately, but the place was pretty full. There are so many options, and the naan is good. Everything was hot and the servers were always coming around, refilling our water, and taking plates away. Will definitely be coming back if I’m craving Indian.

This place is to die for. Absolutely LOVE the dinner buffet. I’m really big into protein and this place has great selection: tikka, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, paneer, and fish. Carbohydrates were good too. Enjoyed the bhature, naan was fine, but the uttapum was a bit dry. And gulab jamun at the end of the dinner to finish? You’ll feel golden. Will return.

BEST kajar is halva(carrot halwa) I’ve had in YEARS! Finally. I had a break-of-fast party here(literally tonight). What a super fun venue. Not only is it affordable but the layout of the restaurant is so conducive to family fun. The food is awesome — can’t get enough! My guests loved the buffet — for $ 16 you get so much food. The kids loved running around and playing. The waitstaff were really flexible and remembered everything I wanted for the party(like pour drinks at 8:15p so people could break their fasts) and they’re quite well-coordinated, as in the waiters connect with the manager even if I asked them something directly so the manager always knew what was happening with my party. I’m planning on hosting here again! Soon.

Just not my day today. Grabbed lunch here and the place was packed with some sort of H1B get together from Mumbai. Buffet was really so so(no curry dishes), the chutneys were flavorless and watery, and to top it off, I find out the Sikh kabobs are made with chicken instead of lamb. I always wondered why the texture and flavor seemed to be lacking when compared to other Indian places. As for the H1B convention, I literally had to wait in a line 14 people long as they paid each check one at a time. With all the Indians in the valley these days, it has become harder, not easier to find a decent Indian restaurant. I miss Gaylord’s(but not their prices). Addendum: Looks like it was bought out by Korean ownership. WTF?

This place is the best Indian buffet I’ve ever been to. It has a huge variety of Indian food, really good fresh naan, and everything tasted good. For around $ 18 per person this place is well worth the price because it’s quality food + all you can eat. They were able to handle really large groups and we just sat at separate tables. Plenty of seating.

Location: It is next to Newpark Mall off of Mowry Ave. It is right next to Ray’s Crab Shack and diagonally across from the Jack in the Box where the Asian supermarket is located. Parking is available. Customer Service: It took a while for them to bring the naan out even though we asked multiple times. Other than that it was self serve because we came during the AYCE/buffet on Sunday for lunch. Décor: I liked their chairs with the Taj Mahal engraved on the back of the seats that was cute. Good space to accommodate large parties. Presentation of Food: Buffet Style. How did the food taste?: I love Indian Food! Everything was so good and I was super full!!! I don’t know half of the things I ate to be honest but I tried everything that was out and I don’t remember not liking any of the dishes. The best part of all was towards the end I got myself a warm cup of chai tea and they had ice cream that was mango flavor that reminded me of mango lassi! Overall Experience: I’ve eaten at only two Indian restaurants, this would be my third and it’s great! Indian food hasn’t disappointed me yet. Would I Come Back?: Yes!

4.5 stars! I’ve been to the Bombay Garden in Santa Clara many many times and I’ve been to this Newark location twice a few years ago. My friends and I came here for Indian buffet recently while we were in the area. Just like the one in Santa Clara, this Indian buffet features LOTS of food — more than 20 items! On my last visit, in the main curry section, they had basmati rice, veggie pakora, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, egg curry, lamb curry, sweet & sour fish, biryani, some kind of noodle dish, stir fried veggies(with baby corn), okra curry, eggplant curry, saag paneer, lentil curry, garbanzo bean curry, chili paneer, and this curry that had green beans & cauliflower & broccoli. There were a few more that I can’t remember. Then in the section in between the curry area and the salad area, they had aloo paratha, a potato dish, gulab jabun(the sweet syrupy donut hole things), and some other things. They also have tea and mango soft serve ice cream. SO many different kinds of Indian food! This is an impressive Indian buffet for the quantity of items they serve. And everything is labeled(although most of the labels are the Indian names, so sometimes I’m not sure what something is). The food itself is tasty! The okra curry, the eggplant curry, and the saag paneer were my favorites(these made the cut for my second round). But almost everything I tried I thought was yummy. The tandoori chicken drumstick I ate was good and so was the hard boiled egg from the egg curry. Nothing was really spicy(to me anyway) and everything was really flavorful. Naan comes with the buffet and they bring it to your table in a cute silver star-shaped basket. I noticed that our refill of naan, the naan was a little too burnt on the bottom. But you got to have that naan to go with your curry and wipe that plate clean with it! Service was pretty good — our waters were constantly refilled, so our glasses never got empty, and they came to clear our plates when we were finished eating, so I feel like the wait staff was really attentive and was watching customers to see if they needed anything. The only thing was that when we walked into the restaurant, there was no one in that front lobby(in the past there usually has been) to greet us. We were sort of confused, so we just walked into the buffet dining area(which is to the left, if you are coming from the lobby — to the right is the private event area) and I had to find a waiter and tell him that we were here to eat buffet. He asked us how many and found us a table to sit at. After we had gotten our first round of food, we hadn’t gotten any naan yet, so I had to flag down a waiter and ask if we could get some. I also had to ask for the naan refill. When we were done eating, we went back out to the lobby to pay for our buffet — it was $ 13 before tax and tip for the lunch buffet, which I think is a great price considering how much I ate(I ATE A LOT). My food baby was quite large and I had trouble standing up straight! One of the nice things about paying at the lobby is that you can pay separately instead of all on one check. This Bombay Garden in its former life had to have been some sort of American country restaurant or something — it kind of looks like that from the outside and inside. While the chairs and much of the décor is Indian, if you look up at the walls and ceiling while dining, it kind of looks like a barn or something. The mishmash of whatever restaurant this place used to be and the Indian theme is actually kind of charming. Over the buffet, they have a screen that plays Bollywood videos, which is fun! And every time I have been to this location, there has always been a private event going on. On my last visit, it looked like maybe an engagement party. It seems to be a really popular venue. Overall, I think the food is yummy and the variety of items from the buffet is awesome — probably the Indian buffet with the MOST options. The food is kept warm too. The service is speedy and efficient. The Indian décor(the chairs and the shiny statues and such) give a regal ambiance.
