I had been looking for a restaurant that serves organic burgers for some time now, and I was pleasantly surprised to find this great little spot. Lovely, casual environnment, with live enetertainment. The service is exceptional, they are very accomodating to requests. The food was excellent! I had the beef burger with an egg on top. The avocado aioli was amazing, I wish every restaurant had something like that. The carmelized onion were so succulent and sweet. I cleared my whole plate. I like that they work with local farms, and everything is made fresh, even their bread. The menu is also very reasonably priced. I highly, highly recommend.

One of the few restaurants I’ve tried in NJ that was great all around. Truffle fries were crisp and flavorful, veggie burger was amazing, good portion sizes, and friendly servers. The patio was closed so it was a bit cozier seating wise, but the food and live music made up for it! Will definitely return!

Definitely recommend for delivery. Black bean burger is stuffed with cheese on the inside with a fresh roll. Blue cheese fries were cooked and packaged right so they weren’t soggy. Arrived quickly. I will order from here again soon!

We were waiting to get our car repaired down the street and found Burger Bound had good recommendations. Good natural beef burgers and amazing truffle parm fries. I would come here just for the fries, crunchy outside creamy inside with shredded Parmesan and truffle oil. My husband and I shared the burger and fries, nice portions. Very clean restroom’s and extremely nice workers.

It’s kind of hard to find, but if you’re in the area, totally worth the search. Don’t be misled by the outside. It’s very clean and modern on the inside and there is even outdoor seating! The happy hour selection is good and the service is polite and friendly. Truffle fries and wings are delicious.

Had a fantastic and delicious pre-game lunch at Burger Bound. Great meat /Veggie options. Delicious french fries too! Awesome staff and service, super kid friendly and just lovely décor. Spacious indoors and nice outdoor patio. Street parking was cool, hood reminded us of Brooklyn and it was just a 5 min drive to the Red Bull Arena! A gem in Newark!

Parm truffle fries omg! So good Black Bean burger– so good Mushroom burger — so good! You get huge burgers for less than 10 bucks, they have a bar, outdoor patio seating in the back, prices are great, food quality and quantity are great. I have no complaints! Each time I’ve been there the service has been good and the place was never crowded. I wish it were located along ferry st with all the other restaurants, it’s a little isolated from the rest so I’m not sure that many people even know it exists.

I live a few blocks away from Burger Bound so I come here regularly, especially when I’m craving brownies(they serve it with ice cream for only $ 5!) or fries. Their burgers are pretty great, but not the best I’ve ever tried. Their cheese fries, on the other hand, are to die for! They have a happy hour menu that includes: $ 5 margaritas/piña coladas, $ 3 bottled beers, and $ 5 mozzarella sticks/boneless chicken. Coworkers and I usually take advantage of the happy hour after we get out of work. Burger Bound has a feel good vibe. Its indoor and outdoor areas are spacious and always clean. It definitely makes the eating experience more pleasant. The first time I came here, I hated the food. I gave it a second try and been loving Burger Bound since then. I’ve brought a few friends here and they also love the food and service. Oh, they now added live music on Saturdays! Don’t know the name of the singer, but she’s amazing.

Came here after fixing my phone screen in the area and didn’t know what to expect about this little place boasting organic burgers and a full open bar. I was surprisingly very very impressed! The guy serving us was very nice and offered us his recommendations I got the«burger bound» burger(think that’s what it’s called) and it was amazing! Served just right with ham and an egg. TRUFFLEFRIESARE A MUST! Colors in here are nice too, a nice shade of orange and green and there is even a lil outdoor seating. 4 stars!

This place is very clean and very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Came here with the boo for an early happy hour drink and the service was great. Our waiter/bartender was very attentive. The food being that it was happy hour deals were on point with taste and delivery to our table!

This place is awesome. Solid 4 stars. Me being the foodie I am discovered this place through Unilocal.Though I live in JC I never really venture to Newark. Today was the day that changed — burger bound reminded me(aesthetically) of fresh & co in the city –it’s bright with pops of color and very cute with an outdoor space that would be perfect for an intimate dinner party. It wasn’t packed at all when I went there(Saturday afternoon) but the staff was amazing. Super attentive and friendly. Is this place Brazilian? Portuguese? Yo no se. But my money is going on Brazilian based on the music selection. Now let’s get to the realness — the food. I ordered the bb special and Parmesan truffle fries: carb-y, meaty goodness! The burger was DELISH — a little well done though. I’m normally a stickler for that but really didn’t care today bc it was so tasty. the fries were very good. Unlike most places they evenly distribute the cheese throughout instead of just piled on the top. I want to try the black bean burger next. In short, this is a fun random spot with amazing food! Definitely check it out:)

I generally liked Burger Bound and think it’s a cool spot to visit in the Iron Bound. It serves as an awesome place to get dinner before or after a Red Bulls game, as its only a 20 minute walk from the Red Bull Arena. That said, I really, really wanted to like Burger Bound a little more than I actually did. Even though I give it 3 stars, take it more as a 3.5 as the rest of my experience was good. Let me get the negative out of the way first and say that I expected way more from the burgers. It’s a burger spot! Therefore, I’d imagine that the burgers would be neater and a bit tastier than they turned out to be. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. There was no trace of buffalo dressing in the sandwich, the chicken was a bit dry and the whole sandwich looked like it was haphazardly tossed together. It would look like something I’d make for myself with leftovers if I had been out drinking all night; kind of tasted like that too. So Buffalo Chicken Sandwich would be more accurately described by ‘Drunk Uncle Leftover Deluxe’. My brother got a burger which looked more appetizing but was also suffering from the Picasso-esque burger construction in the back with way larger bread than is close to necessary. That’s disappointing from a bona-fide burger joint. Especially since these are fairly high prices for Newark, I expected matching quality and was disappointed. I’m a big Bareburger fan and it just feels like you get way more bang for your buck in quality for equally health-conscious food, where the pictures on Unilocal and on their website actually reflect what you’ll get. The pictures on Unilocal compared to what actually comes out at Burger Bound is so brutally dissaponiting. On the bright side, there is more of a dinner menu outside of sandwiches and burgers, so you can try that. I haven’t on this particular visit. Ok, so let’s focus on the good. Service was impeccably friendly, the sangria is strong but outrageously delicious and the other items we ordered(sides of sweet potato fries and onion rings) were pretty damn pleasing. But those are fried, incredibly basic items to get right so it wont win back many points. Where Burger Bound really had me was the space. It’s clean, simple, and pleasant with a beautiful wooden outdoor backyard. If not for anything else, grabbing a seat in the back with a sangria or other drink on a warm day or evening would be worth coming for alone. I just really hope they get the aesthetic and functional aspect of a sandwich down. Otherwise, I do recommend coming here if you’re trying to have a meal on a night of soccer-watching instead of stadium food.

This has to be one of the worst burger joints… EVER! I rolled up to this place because it was the closest 4 star burger joint from Penn Station that I haven’t had. I should have known. The pictures were too perfect. The reviews were definitely suspect. I’ve been hearing that Unilocal has been involved in unsavory practices similar to the 90’s playola scandals. I’ve been to many places that are 4 star Unilocal rated lately and I’ve been left thinking I was just scammed by Unilocal.I would hate to think that this was true being that I’ve dedicated many hours of my time improving this site. This is a place that tries to have it all, but can’t really live up to it. I ordered the burger and what I got was large bun with a slider patty. I’m not exaggerating either. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I asked if they accidentally used a slider patty and the bartender who rang up my order, said«Nope. That’s the quarter pounder. The chef always weighs it out before cooking, plus that’s what happens when the burger cooks. It shrinks.» As if I needed her to tell me the science of cooking beef. I requested medium, got at overcooked scone. Sad thing is, there were 3 customers. Also, the guy next to me had a burger that looked like what was advertised on their menu. Come to find out by the end of his meal, he was an employee. Anyway, a dude comes up to the bar and I asked if he was the owner and he said yes. I said, «What’s up with this? Why is my patty so pathetically small? He said, that’s 4oz. I pointed to a picture of their burgers above the bar and said, «This doesn’t look like that.» He proceeded to blame the baker for making the bun too big and then he left. I swear, I had to have ripped 50% of the bread just to make it look like the bun to meat ratio normal. This burger joint sucks. If you see professional pictures of burgers, run to your local pub. For Newark, head to Krugs Tavern. Best burger in Newark. By the way, I posted pictures of the terrible product they serve.

Pros: Nice tasty organic burgers, great place for brunch, pleasant space and outdoor patio. Staff Speaks English! Cons: Staff a bit inexperienced and out of touch with customer, food a bit slow to come out. Their food is very good quality and healthier and less messy than your neighborhood burger joints(e.g: Hamburgao, Altas Horas, etc…) I’ve tried the Salmon burger, mac and cheese, turkey burger, calamari salad and fries and they did not disappoint. Good place for brunch(eggs benedic, steak and eggs were delicious. Coffee is also good. No convenient place to park your bike. Staff could use better training. Bottom line: If you want to eat the best hamburgers in town, go to Krugs Tavern. If you want a healthier burger alternative, comfort food or brunch with a full bar. This place is for you. Bye bye, Hamburgao and Altas Horas, Hello Burger Bound!

I am pretty sure I am extremely slow, because it has been about a year since I first came to the restaurant and I literally JUST(as I was updating my review) realized that Burger Bound is named as such because they are located in the Ironbound. Anyways, I hadn’t been here since they updated their menu and got a liquor license so I decided to check it out. I cam here around 9:30 and they close at 10. They were still really nice, did not make me feel rushed(even though I was the only customer), and made me feel welcome. When they first added their dine-in menu(in addition to the burgers and fries and other stuff that has always been on it/still is), I thought to myself«why go to a place with Burger in their name for that?» However, I am definitely glad I did, and I will be back! I ordered the salmon which came on a bed of spinach, topped with mashed potatoes, topped with the salmon. It came in a bowl like dish which was the only thing about it I would change(the spinach caused the bottom to become a little watery). The spinach was seasoned well and the mashed potatoes were the perfect consistency and delicious; I couldn’t really taste the truffle but they were still really good. Salmon fillet was perfectly cooked, really nice crispy coating and you could tell the fish was fresh. Not only was each component good by itself, but everything was balanced and went together nicely. Also, the sangria is probably the best I have had in the Ironbound. Seriously, better than almost all of the Spanish restaurants I have gone to which is kind of sad, but another reason to come back here. And at $ 7 for a pretty big glass, it is definitely worth it. I was kind of indecisive between 4 and 5 stars, but I round up because I think it is a great addition to the neighborhood, you can tell they care about the quality of the food they serve, and the service is always friendly. I wish they played different music though(loud techno type stuff was playing each time I went).

So the mission was simple. Find a place to grab some good grub before a Red Bulls home game. I’ve had enough with stadium food and I wasn’t going to settle for eating what passes for hamburgers and hot dogs in these places. So after striking out at two other places that were more comer bars than burger joint or café, we wound up here. The menu looked substantial with lots of choice and the burger pictures looked great. The promise here is that the burgers are home made and organic. They also serve dine in guests on real china with table service. This belies the ambiance you get from looking at the place from the outside. That’s all well and good, but the food is so average that it’s a real shame. The patties are only 80% as large as the buns and the toppings are only average. The standard cheese is a white queso so it may throw you off when you see it. The regular and sweet potato fries are good, the Parmesan fries are over the top with the truffle oil and garlic. A large size also serves two people. In the end we would up spending about $ 80 for five people which was equal to what we would have spent at the arena and did not get a meal that was any better. Our search for food outside of the stadium will have to continue.
