Had the cheeseburger. It was delicious ! For only 5 dollars it was huge and really filling. The potato straws add a nice crunch to the burger paired with the corn. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had. Will deff be coming back

We used to go often there but is not the same anymore. We went there yesterday 4÷22÷16 and where to begin… 1) Place was dirty. 2) the bathroom was smelling so bad and strong that the entire place was smelling like the bathroom! 3) one of the girls had a such bad attitude and if we asked her a question she would answer in a very very rude manner as if we were not allowed to ask anything. 4) the food quality went down and our food was served cold. 5) only at the end another employee he was very nice and polite. Other than that, it was our last time there. Not going back. Ah of course parking and traffic there are nightmare.

First visit impressions, food was great! I had the Cheese– Tudo, and I know why the reviews here are so high. This flavorful Brazilian hamburgao sandwich has the usual compliments of stacks of ingredients, but here for the first time I can identity each by taste and texture. The hamburger patty is flavorful and thick, draped in ham, mozzerella cheese, topped with a delicate yet firm egg and the most crispy, delicious bacon, fresh juicy tomato, a crisp huge romaine leaf, and the ubiquitous potato sticks and corn, all held together on a large, fresh Portuguese roll which I topped off with the house secret sauce. I just finished my last bite, and I admit, I am a fan of this little place, cute interior, quiet street for Newark, lots of windoes, friendly staff, a true winner! for the best Hamburgao I’ve ever had.

As a Brazilian, I was just browsing on Unilocal trying to find some new place to try some thing that would take me momentarily back to BR. It kind of did but not for the reason I expected. I ordered a take out and even though the staff was prompt, they were not welcoming or pleasant at all. Felt more like if they were doing me a favor instead of doing their job. I chose a Cheese tudo with no ham. The frustration started at the paying time when it costed me $ 7 and I had seen on the website priced as $ 5,50. I’m assuming there were tax and whatnot. Oh well, I thought it would be worth. Was very excited to take a bite when I got home, but when I did so, oh what a disappointment! The bum looked and tasted like an old bread seating around for who knows how long. Seriously, I had to take out the bums and eat just the inside of it which was an okay flavor. Not as juicy or tasty as I imagined. I can say on a scale from 1 to 10 being 1, poisoned food and 10 heavenly treats, a 3 sounds just about right. I do not intend on going back there, and If you do visit the place, hope you have more luck than me. I wish I had taken a picture.

My son and I went to our first hockey game at the Prudential Center this winter. I’d seen an episode of Burger Land: New Jersey Sliders on the Travel Channel. Since we were already in town, we just had to hit this joint. Ironbound section of Newark still has a bad rep with lots of New Jerseyans. Even locals tell me there’s still a lot of crime. So I wasn’t all that surprised that friends were texting me that it was a bad idea to take my kid there late at night. I’m an adventurist and believer that most people are inherently good. Bad things can happen anywhere. Be alert, don’t act like an @sshole, and trust your instincts. I misread my gps and parked kind of far away. My son wanted me to repark but I was hyper and was needing to move my legs. «We’ll do some evening time urban exploration by foot» but it was freakin FREEZING. Our brisk walk led us to this unassuming corner spot, totally unfancy, as is, gramma’s dining room feel, with a few locals chatting and eating… could potentially make newbies a little self conscious. We were stared at a bit but in that curious friendly way. Portuguese(I’m pretty sure) speaking staff were friendly and some were more fluent in English than others. Our server took her time trying to answer my questions in a mix of Portuguese/English and hand motions. I wasn’t in a rush and appreciated her efforts. This place is NOT for those who are clean eaters or dieters… unless it’s a cheat day. There was a lot to choose from but we were both simultaneously drawn to the Cheese Tudo Burger: ham, cheese, lettuce, egg, tomato, corn, mayo, potato sticks and shreds of carrot. Yea. That’s pretty much a party in your mouth. We both quietly chomped down and we’d give each other that nod like«mmhmm. yup. this is dang yummy.» Juicy and full of texture. You’ll need extra napkins. Next time, I’d ask for the egg to be less fried so the yolk can pop it’s goodness all over the other ingredients. We also tried Mandioca com Linguica(yucca fries with sausage). Yum. Needless to say, my 4 other kids were pretty envious and have been begging me to take them there. Soon soon…

My favorite is the Casa sandwich add pineapple! Also their desserts are pretty delicious. Get the Flan or they have some really delicious puddings with cake in them.

This is the spot. From coffee, pastries and delicious chicken balls and empanadas, to the infamous Hamburgao Sandwich… Which is incredible. This is a locals spot in the Ironbound and is always packed, never had a bad experience. May I also comment that the sweet and hard working staff of Portuguese and Brazilian ladies make it all the better!

Ordered the cheese tudo and it was unbelievable! I came to Newark only for a few days from Washington DC and this is an amazing place! The burger is piping hot and fresh. The prices are suuuuuuuuuuuper cheap and the portions are huge. Secondly, I also had flan. The flan’s texture was amazing like a cheesecake. Overall, it’s a small family ran business that doesn’t disappoint. Food was extremely hot and fresh. Well worth it! This place is a hidden gem!!!

I was very excited to try a giant brazilian burger simply because i never had one before. It was definitely unique and tasted alright, but it’s nothing spectacular. Imagine eating a breakfast sandwich: egg, ham, cheese… with a burger: lettuce, tomato, mayo, meat… plus other additions: corn, tiny french fries and that is essentially the Cheese Tudo from here. $ 7 for a giant burger is a pretty good value I must admit. I was very full afterwards. I might update my rating after trying other stuff from their extensive menu(salads at a burger place!), but as of right now lack of seating, difficult street parking, and average tasting burger i give this place 3 stars.

This place is really delicious! Amazing burgers, tasty fries, and really good sauce. I would give this place a 4.5 if it wasn’t for their bad service. The people are kind of rude and you can tell they hate their jobs. This is the second time I’ve been here and the food was delicious both times; too bad the service is bad.

My friend raved about is place, and it sure lived up to the hype! The cheese tudo burger was awesome! Definitely gonna try to come here before every Red Bulls game now. Can’t wait to try more next time I go.

Great food! Ever better special sauce! Wish the fries were hand cut or something other than the crispy coating fries they serve. Overall amazing amazing place!

Food: Great Service: Very Good Ambience: Brazilian street café or what I imagine it is like This is a little hole in the wall place with great burgers. What I always get is a cheese egg burger. Which is a burger, with cheese, mayo, egg, corn, potato sticks, tomato and lettuce and it is big. You do not come here if you want fancy it’s sloppy but oh so good. As I understand it they bake their own buns which are great on their own. The place is usually packed. They also have fresh juice of various fruits that I recommend as well. They also have really great empanadas and croquets. I have never tried them because I am so stuffed but their desserts are supposedly outstanding as well. I usually love the entire experience. Highly recommended for burger lovers

This place is a delicious spot I go to whenever I am in NJ. Note that the burger is not your average juicy burger. It is thin meat and on the drier side, but still packed with flavor and a a huge soft bun. They put potato crisps and corn on top and their house sauce. Delicious. Their fries are crispy. The grilled chicken sandwich is delicious and comes with a pineapple on top. Their pastels and other items are cheap and have great flavor. You can order ahead or dine in.

This place perpetually gives me bowel issues. Yet, I keep on coming back. I believe that paradox best captures the essence of comfort food. Their burgers are an ethnic amalgam of flavors, textures and grease. I realize I am indulging in a decadent palate of competing tastes and unusual additions piled on top of each other, but I still keep adding more of their sauce. Setup is in between that of a small, modest, family restaurant and a fast food joint so it should suffice whether you’re taking a small crowd of relatives or if you need to sober up with potato stix.

You add the«ão» suffix to Portuguese words to describe huge things. The burger here could just be called a «hamburga,» but that doesn’t quite do these burgers justice. Because Hamburgão’s burgers are, quite simply, incredibly large and in charge. Whenever I’m back home, I always make a point to stop by Hamburgão for my «large burger» fix. I always go with the trusty Cheese Tudo: burger patty, mozzarella, ham, bacon, fried egg, potato sticks, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and corn. This thing is massive, and costs under seven bucks to boot! The meat is cooked well-done so it can be a little dry, but the burger itself is still decadent. If I want to punish my stomach, I also get a Coxinha. Imagine a pear, but filled with chicken and deep-fried.
